Rich Sound Speakers on the Cheap
Ryan from Fort Knox, KY on 5/5/2022
2006 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
I needed to replace my radio and front speakers in my 2006 Chevy Silverado and figured while I was at it I'd replace the rear speakers, too. The Crutchfield rep I spoke with suggested I pair this along with the Kenwood DPX504BT CD Receiver and Kenwood KFC-1666S front speakers I purchased. All together I now have a full, rich sounding system that I love listening to. These are definitely great speakers that breathe new life into tired old factory speakers.

They do their job. Figured they are lower power rated to better match the deck and would sound a little better than they do. But they are clear and fill the sound in the truck. Install well that easy once you get all the panels off.

These fit in my '01 S10 4.3l. Not sure why this site says they don't. Anyways, paired with kenwood 6.5s and a kenwood head unit. Sounds like a concert hall. Needs a small amount of adjustments but EVERY NOTE is crystal clear incuding the bass. Love it!!!

It just couldn't get any better!
Crutchfield customer from Prescott Vly, AZ on 8/25/2019
1979 Cadillac DeVille
It is nearly impossible to find 4"X 6" speakers that fit the dash of a 1977-85 Cadillac deVille. Most of what is out there for aftermarket replacement use is entirely too deep and will not fit properly, as a result you cannot fit the top of the dash back on at all. These Kenwoods were exactly the correct depth and the mounting holes were a perfect fit so using the factory screws to secure them in place was a snap! Once the dash top was off replacement took about 5 or 6 minutes and was easy in the extreme. I was further delighted when I turned on the new Pioneer CD/receiver I had installed in the dash and actually got to hear these Kenwoods rock. Dollar for dollar and ease of installation wise I could not have picked a better set of speakers to bring the music back to my '79 coupe. I am extremely happy all 'round with these speakers.
Pros: Easy installation, perfect fit with no modifications, fantastic sound!
Cons: None!

Just the upgrade I needed
Brandon S. from Orange County, CA on 8/16/2014
2004 Jeep Wrangler
I purchased these speakers for my wife's 2004 Jeep Wrangler (with soft-top) so getting clear sound is a necessity. I got these in conjunction with Kenwood KFC-1365S for the rear roll-bar and the two sets are complimentary to one-another. First and foremost, the brackets included from Crutchfield were absolutely necessary. Installation would not have been possible without these. All of the various mounting holes on the speakers themselves would be helpful in other cars - no more manually drilling mounting holes into the flanges, or trying to come up with odd brackets. These lined up perfectly. Overall experience has been really good. These were not for my car but my wife's and she is nothing but pleased with the clarity of the sound (with factory stereo, even) and no sub-woofer. For those complaining about sound quality, you should pair these with a NON-FACTORY head-unit to get the full benefit of any non-stock speaker.
Pros: - Easy installation with brackets - Good hardware kit - GREAT customer service - Reliable quality
Cons: - None so far

This speaker is great for its size. The mids and highs are stunningly clear. Bass isn't all that impressive, but they make bass as well as any 4x6 speaker that isn't a plate with a separate woofer

I picked up these speakers to use in place of the factory 4x6's in my 2003 Silverado.Good sound, easy install.
Pros: Great instructions and you can't beat the prices if you install it yourself!
Cons: Didn't fit right, so I had to use 1/16" spacers.

1992 Chevrolet Cheyenne
Easy install and worked as intended. These were used to replace an old set of factory speakers in the front factory locations on a 93 Chevy Cheyenne . Nothing more than 10 minutes. As always, Crutchfield excels in providing all the wiring and install accessories needed. Pre-made speaker wire interconnects. It was a snap. No cutting or splicing. It was all plug and play. Easy quick and better sound quality.
Pros: Good quality, fit as described.

Yes, this product DOES fit third-gen Camaros, unlike the similar Pioneer product. These speakers are priced a little on the high side for what they are.I replaced the stock front speakers with these and I am satisified.I didn't know "dinky little front speakers" were supposed to sound this good.I'm running a Sony head unit with no amps or subs and I'm satisified with the sound quality.

pretty good speakers
Kevin M from St. Louis, MO on 9/15/2011
I picked up these speakers to use in place of the factory 4x6's in my cadillac brougham. they are pretty good, but I have heard far better 4x6's (polk db series- which are phenomenal IMO, but no longer produced) the mids and highs come in great with the kenwoods, but the lows come in muddy and distorted. I ended up using these with a crossover which got rid of the issue with the bass. If you need a 4x6 to play the mids and highs, get these. if you want a 4x6 that gives good bass response, look for something else.

Decent but a little pricey for me.

1997 Chevrolet C Series
I just installed these in the rear pillars of a 1997 Ext. Cab Silverado and I have mixed opinions. Considering the difficulty of removing the panels (broke a ton of clips) it really wasn't worth the money to buy and install the speakers. Do they sound better than stock? Probably but I really can't tell because most of my sound is coming from the new door speakers (it is even balanced front to rear). I did install the 600 hz bass blockers and this keeps all of the bass away from the speakers but I still get distortion running them at around 30 on my Sony CD player. That's ok considering I don't listen to my music at 30. Overall, I give it a three b/c it might sound better and be a better fit for someone using them in a different spot. One thing for sure is that I love Crutchfield. Great instructions and you can't beat the prices if you install it yourself!

Good mids and highs for a 4x6 speaker
Matt from Philadelphia, PA on 12/22/2005
I am using these as my front speakers in my 1994 Chevy S10 Blazer; they are powered by a Sony CDX-F7005X headunit. When I tested these speakers they produced good mids and highs for speakers of this size, however my truck has its speaker openings in the top of the dash facing up at the windshield, so the sound bounces of it and doesn't sound exactly right. Also, don't expect to get any bass out of these speakers; they are too small for that. I have 150hz bass blockers on them so they don't burn up when I crank up the volume. But overall these speakers are very good, as long as you have another set of high powered speakers or a subwoofer to provide bass.

As good as it gets
Rod from Chanute, KS on 11/3/2005
Using these speakers in a 93 S10 Blazer, powered by a Sony CDX-R5515X head unit. Installed 300 Hz Bass Blockers. Sound quality is clean with excellent highs and good midrange. They rival the Polks I had in my previous Blazer. I'd imagine they are about as good as it gets for a speaker of this size. They blend in well with the 6" kickers in the rear doors and 10" sub.

I replaced the factory speakers in my 2000 Chevy Silverado.....big mistake! The cheap factory speakers sound much better than the Kicker 4x6. Go figure. I put the factory speakers back in.

Great GM Replacement
Lloyd from Sikeston, MO on 9/18/2005
The best thing about these speakers to me is the size. Highs are great, crisp, and clear. But if you have any ideals of getting any bass from these think again. You must use bass blockers or I recommend an amp or stereo with high pass filters or croosovers. These werent meant to be anything other than high frequency speakers as size would suggest. Great factory replacements for many GMs however my first pair of these were meant for a 2001 Chevy S-10 dash, dont think about it guys fit will not work. I tried even though crutchfield said no. Take the experts advice. I wound up giving the first set to a friend. I currently have my second pair of these in my 1999 Chevy Silverado Ext. Cab as (rear door replacements). I also added the Kenwood KFC-605ie components as (front door replacements), the Kenwood KAC-6401 30X4rms amp to push them, and an powered MTX Thunderform (vehicle specific sub) for the added bang of bass. This is an amazing system for my budget, and the fact sound quality was the most important factor to me. (Superb sound inside, stealth outside.) Power rating for these speakers is low at 20 watts rms but unless you want the neighborhood to hear them they will be fine. I am pushing them with a Kenwood 30X4 watts rms amp and its more watts than I can stand wide opened however I dont generally listen at wide open volumes so the extra 10 watts from the amp has no affect on the speakers ability to perform. Ive had this system for a full year now and still going strong. Highs are crisp and clear. I would buy them again. and highly recommend them if you have factory 4X6 slots and are looking to upgrade without custom installation

Excellent choice for this size speaker
Jason from New Orleans, LA on 8/18/2005
This speaker is great for its size. The mids and highs are stunningly clear. Bass isn't all that impressive, but they make bass as well as any 4x6 speaker that isn't a plate with a separate woofer. I have them installed in my dash, so they don't really have much of an enclosure to help the bass production. I do, however, recommend a high pass filter around 80-100Hz. I have mine on an 80Hz high pass filter, and they sound great this way when used with a subwoofer. I used them before I had the subwoofer, and they definitely sound worlds better than the stock Chevrolet truck 4x6's. I would buy these speakers again. The price is worth it for the clarity of sound (mids and highs).

These speakers are installed in my 1991 chevy s10 pickup. They "bottom out" fairly easy but there high freaquencys are very impreasive! If you dont have a high pass filter in your reciver then I do not recomend these speakers. If you do then they will do the job just fine. Anyways they sound great and can be very handy if you like alot of high frequencys.
