I tried to let this go, but in fairness...I cant. Brought a pair of these..had them running on a kenwood excelon dmx-809s head unit, a jl xdm-600/6 75 rms amp, installed these speakers in my front door....and they were just flat!!! Good Mid-ranges, but No bass, highs were almost non existant...I guess they call that smooth, I call it not present. So if you need mid-ranges their great, anything else, try pioneers, herts, focal....i have these on a shelf in their box collecting dust.

Pros: good coaxal mid-ranges

Cons: no bass, no highs, no fun

Very happy with this purchase. The product listing said I was going to need to drill but I didn't. The adapter plate fit perfectly with no drilling at all. The extra speaker wire adapters worked and were free. The sound is very good and will be ordering another pair next week for my back speakers.

Exactly what I expected from the exelon series! Superior sound! I would absolutely recommend to anyone wanting to upgrade their speakers. With their ability to handle 80 wats RMS each, they sound great both amplified or pushed by an aftermarket radio.
