Features

Custom Brackets: The KFC-XP6902C is designed as a factory replacement speaker system. The included 6x9 woofers are typically installed in the front doors. Mounting brackets are also included, compatible with many GM, Toyota, and Dodge vehicles. The multi-purpose brackets are scored for trimming to fit several applications. Please enter your vehicle information to confirm fit.

Midrange: The included 2¾" speakers replace the factory tweeters.

Crossover Network: A high-pass crossover is integrated into each wire included for the midrange. The output end of the wire has quick slides that plug onto the 2¾" speaker terminals. (The input end of the wire is not terminated.) The low-pass crossovers are wired to the 6x9 woofer terminals and attached to the speaker baskets. Each woofer has two positive input terminals, one to utilize the crossover and one to bypass.

Warranty Note: Although the information included with these speakers indicates a 1-year warranty, they are actually covered by the Kenwood eXcelon 2-year warranty.

Q
I don't understand why you say this speaker combo doesn't fit in a 2011 Toyota FJ Cruiser? Could you elaborate to why? The cruiser takes 6x9's in the front door, and 2-3" in the dash. So this should integrate seamlessly, right?

The only issue I had on my 2014 Tacoma was both speakers are in the doors. The mids/tweeters had the polarity markings on the terminals that was opposite of what of what the color codes said in the installation sheet. The factory 6x9s did not have any polarity markings on their terminals. So all I had to go by was the markings on the mids/tweeters, which indicated to me the factory wire colors were reversed. After doing some research, I found that Toyota had, on purpose, reversed the wires going to mids/tweeters to give them a more "enhanced" sound. I hooked up the kenwoods according to the installation sheet (no reverse polarity on the mids/tweeters crap) and they sound great! The speakers mounted just fine. William

Q
Will the factory head unit be able to provide the power needed for the added high clarity and mid-bass spoke of?

I have the head unit powering these speakers, no external amp. For my listening needs, the head unit only is sufficient. Of course and external amp always boosts performance. These speakers will work well in either system.

I don't have my amp set up yet but do have these speakers installed. They are clear and have more bass but I would believe that speakers with a high power rating like these are intended to be driven by an amp. They work better than the factory speakers even without the amp.

I purchased the Stealth Soundstrem 1k amp to complete the install. I did not want to replace the factory HD radio (non-bose) system. Hooked everything to factory radio including a new set of kenwood rear speakers. What an awesome difference it made. The component speakers allowed me to replace dash speakers with tweeters and the larger ones in front doors. Have clarity and range above and beyond the factory speakers.

Q
Do I need an additional crossover to install these in the front doors of my 2015 4RUNNER since the factory ones work in parallel? Or will the in-line crossover work?
grier  Jun 30, 2019
1 answer
A
You do not. The 6x9 crossovers are built into them and the tweeter crossovers come attached to the included 28" long wires. And that parallel wiring means these will be joined together as needed to play so you are good to go!! My Bio: https://www.crutchfield.com/bio/Paul

Q
Is there an advantage to these over a regular 6.5" component system? Why not use a more standard system that can be swapped into other vehicles later vs this?
travis  Jun 24, 2019
1 answer
A
Hi Travis, thanks for your question. There isn't really an advantage or disadvantage between using a regular set of 6.5" components, versus these Kenwood speakers as far as audio quality goes. But, since the KFC-XP6902C are designed to be a perfect fit for specific vehicles, that does make them a great choice for customers who want to easily improve their factory sound without the need for an adapter bracket , or re-drilling of any screw holes, which may be an issue they could encounter by choosing to use many other aftermarket speakers.

Q
On the Kenwood box it says these will fit a 2014 Chevy Silverado dbl cab 1500 w/o the Bose system w/8.5 lcd head unit. However, tech support, said they wonâ??t. Iâ??ve looked at a couple other places that give you fitment info. That proved fruitless also because some say they do some donâ??t. I called Kenwood and they didnâ??t know either. Anyone have some information on this subsection?
