Triple check the manual and wiring

Got this to give my 1000w @1ohm sub amp & two 8" subs in sealed box a little boost for continuous power. I was excited when I got all the wiring connected and ready to charge the cap. Immediately something wasn't right. I was getting alarms as if polarity was wrong. In the manual, it shows positive on the right and negative on the left in one graphic. In another, it shows the opposite. I double and triple checked all connections and everything matched the graphic I initially had seen. So I reversed the positive and negative wires connected to cap and it charged with no issues. Now I'm getting a steady 14 volts when the car engine is running. The graphics describing wiring are confusing, there is no marked + or - on the cap. Those are my only real complaints. As for how it will benefit my system, that remains to be seen.

Currently running 2, 12 inch jbl stage 1200w and a boss 1200w 2 channel and which is a major upgrade to my last set, needles to say I no longer have to choose between music or using my A/C compressor, nor do I have to put my car in neutral at stop lights do to my alternator not being able to keep up with anything other than its self.

Cons: It's much larger than an expected so it makes it a little more difficult to hide, but still worth it

One of the bolt allen heads came stripped. Very frustrating and makes it a pain to take on and off. The other one is fine. It seems to do its job otherwise.

Bass go boom now

I've had a 300w mono amp and 12" 300w subwoofer in my car for months now but then all of the sudden, when idling, my head unit would restart. This happened more often when the A/C was on. I thought it might be the power draw during hard, low bass hits. Got this capacitor and installed it with a power distribution block as recommended in the instructions and I haven't had an issue since. Not only that, but the transient response of the subwoofer and bass beats coming through are noticeably improved. There's just a bit more "punch" in the lower bass notes and kick drums especially. Personally, I was a little blown away by how much it improved the low end. Granted, this capacitor is overkill for my 300w setup but it leaves room for additions later! If you're running straight off your car battery, I highly recommend putting in a good capacitor. It'll help take the load off the car battery that's not designed for that kind of power and might even clean up the low end on your music.

Perfect compacitor, have it running an alpine type S monoblock and it's phenomenal not remote needed as it senses amperage draw so no fussy extra wiring needed.

It helps some but I noticed that my lights still dim. I have checked all my vehicles ground wiring and my battery and alternator. Everything checked out good. This is the cap that was recommended for the subs and amp kit I purchased through Crutchfield.

Seems to help quite a bit with power storage for heavy bass drops/power draw. I have a mono block amp that puts out close to a thousand watts of clean power. Only see slight dimming of dash lights/headlights at stop lights. Not sure if it's capacitor or the old undersized battery. Will be putting in a battery to specs of vehicle and it will be brand new. This will then tell me the true capacity of this capacitor. Over all very impressed so far.

Quality capacitor. No issues getting it charged and installed. Is very responsive.

Cons: The terminal screw downs could be a bit longer to better accommodate connecting multiple large gauge wires to it (2x 0 Awg) but that's it.

I bought this capacitor for my 15 inch L7 1,200 watts rms and it does wonders. I had a battery for the subwoofer so that it can stop my lights from dimming and take less strain on the alternator. It worked but then I noticed my car being slower to turn on and I hated having that big battery in the back. The capacitor not only is smaller but it helps with voltage and lights from dimming . I love it. I have not seen my voltage go past 12v it's great.

Works great! My head lights and dash were dimming pretty bad before putting this in. Now it barely dims at all, only a very little bit when the subs are knocking really heavy basslines but it's hardly noticable unless you're really looking for it even on the heaviest notes. Also made my bass, mids and highs sounded much cleaner and solid at high volume. Another thing I like about it is I've used other ones where the red and blue lights flash crazy bright when the voltage changes to the point you think you're getting pulled over which I didn't really care for but this one the lights are just there, not overly bright and don't flash like crazy so it looks nice but not to the point that it's annoying! Great product will buy again if ever needed!

Damaged and poor terminal connection

Scary! Don't get me wrong Bill Crutchfield has sold a lot of quality audio components over the years. This product is not one of them! It's a nail biter! I installed this product above my batteries by my amps in my RV. I could not use the resistor provided in package it was damaged. A tech said use a regular resister and emailed me a color chart. The terminals came loose when I toyed to tighten it. The capacitor did not charge up! They are sending me new one but that's three days more before I can finish this. I am frightened that this unit is going to burn down my RV!! Don't buy this crap. Bill needs to discontinue selling these.

The capacitor seems to be working great! I have not noticed any dimming lights or other issues when the amp is hitting it hard. Would be nice if it was a bit smaller or maybe came in a 0.5 or even 1 farad capacity but at the time of purchase only 1.5 and 2 farad were options. Due to it's size and the fact that I was installing in a Jeep there really were no great spots to mount it out of the way and out of site. Also the way they have you charge the cap initially before connecting power is a bit awkward. The resistor which is essentially a light bulb could have used some thicker leads. They were very thin so they just wanted to bend and it made it hard to get a secure touch to the positive terminal of the cap.

I added this capacitor with the initial install of 2 Kicker Comp 12s and a Spirit DNA DNS18 1500W Peak amp. I do NOT do a benchmark test without a capacitor. I can say that I have no issues with sound quality nor with power consumption. On a side note, this thing looks awesome.

This is my third subwoofer installation. I've been an audio hobbyist since the 60's and am a repeat customer at Crutchfield. - T-Spec 1.5 farad Capacitor The LED display/lights are pretty cool and useful and the input terminals are large. I used 4AWG power cables. You will need an allen wrench for the terminals. There was no resistor or light bulb supplied with this product for initial charging. I had to use a large old resistor (100 ohms) to initially charge. Used with: - Pioneer TS-W311D4 12" dual voice coil subwoofer - Sound OrdnanceT Bass Bunker BB12-125S sealed enclosure, 1.27 cubic feet - Rockford Fosgate Power T600-2 - Rockford Fosgate RFK4 wiring kit

The product works great. LED voltage reading is a nice feature. This unit doesn't have a 3rd terminal, which was something mentioned in another review (not sure if it was on here). It's a 2 terminal cap.

I'm certain the capacitor will do the job that it is intended for, just for my application I do not like it.
Pros: 1.5 Farad should prevent the head lights from dimming.
