device works great. the instructions did not specify which connection it went to there were two that would accept it in my 2013 Malibu the tan one WAS NOT IT, had to pull it out to move it works great now I connected the blue wire to the "Power Ant" wire on the harness, hope thats right but as I said the instructions were unclear on these connections

Exceptional performance and quality. Picks up as good if not better than before the factory radio bit the dust for the second time. Paired with a Pioneer radio and has great sound. Easy installation.

Pros: Easy install. Quality and secure connections. Picks up stations as good or better than factory. Plug and play.

The radio strength signal seems to be as good or better than before. Only trick was connecting the power wire in with the rest of the wire bundle, but plenty of online resources to tell you what to do.

This is a simple antenna connection adapter cable. When I tried to use this my radio had almost no reception. Fortunately, my wiring interface (PAC RP5-GM51) included a different antenna adapter that has an inline amplifier or filter module; this one worked great! I don't know why Crutchfield included this second antenna adapter in my parts kit. It was useless and ended up in the trash!

Not good. Station reception dropped a lot compared to factory.(FM but tested) Powered the adapter with the HU aux/amp power. VW has a two coax plug. This only hooks to one. Not sure if there is a way to improve it, but not impressed with my FM station reception.

This was the only wire I had to "splice" for my whole install...but I didn't know that because it did not come with ANY instructions. A simple note saying that this was a power boosting antenna would have save me some time trying to figure out what to do with that loose wire. Otherwise, perfect fit and works fantastically.

I used this to install an aftermarket head in my 2015 Chevy Silverado. I didn't notice when I bought this that it has an extra power wire for a powered antenna-- which I don't have, so it kind of threw me for a loop. No biggie though, sealed the connection off with a little heat shrink and cloth taped it to keep it from wondering off and problem solved. Other than that, not much to say about it. I seated comfortably in the OEM connector and I get good AM and FM reception.

Pros: Easy, cost effective, simple.

Very easy to install with Crutchfield's wiring guide only one wire needs to be soldered. Make sure you plug into the correct factory harness! There are multiple factory harnesses that it will plug into.

The antenna adapter installation was quick and easy! Quick note, I did not know this because I am new to wiring and for any of you new guys reading this I hope I am able to help you. The blue wire from the antenna adapter you must splice together with the blue/white wire coming out of the stereo and then attach them to the blue/white wire coming out of the wiring interface. I did not know this and when I first plugged the stereo into my car the radio and music would cut in and out randomly and after talking to Crutchfield support I was told to connect those wires and it worked perfectly! There was not a mention of that in the instructions so for all you new guys out there, I hope I can save you some added stress on your next project!

This adapter was included with the wiring harness for a Boss Audio System installed by myself to replace the factory system in my 2015 Jeep Cherokee Sport. It was easy to install, once the instructions were explained by tech-support experts. The only drawback is that, while it provides great FM receptions, the AM reception is non-existent with nothing but static on all stations. I'm told by Boss that this is a common problem with most after-market car audio systems due to little demand for AM these days with so many other options available. Fortunately, the Boss radio has an Audio-In portal on the front of it allowing for easy connection of a portable boom box, through its headphone jack, which then plays through the vehicle speakers. Kind of a hassle. But, we mainly only use it to listen to Rush Limbaugh.

The ONLY thing was that the OEM stereo I replaced had TWO antenna wires leading to it and only one place to plug into in the adapter. Either it doesn't matter or I got lucky and chose the right one. Stereo works perfectly.

We decided to go with the ReadyHarness Service through Crutchfield. Everything seems to work well except for the Antenna Adapter. I'm not sure if it is due to the wiring connection or if the adapter is just faulty. Every radio station now has some degree of static. Stations that used to come in perfectly clear with the OEM radio are now full of static and can be hard to find with the new receiver.

HD Radio reception has been horrible in my 2019 RAM 1500 truck ever since my aftermarket radio was installed with this antenna adapter. It was professionally installed and they replaced it after I brought it back in for lousy radio reception. Even with the replacement it still is crappy and the HD radio signal goes in and out all the time. Previously the same aftermarket Kenwood Excel-on head unit was installed in my old car, a Nissan Sentra and it got great HD radio reception. I did a lot of research and it seems like a common theme that RAM trucks have a crappy antenna.

While the antenna adapter fits nicely, it works poorly. FM reception of the factory Monsoon radio is fine and normal. When switching to a new Jensen via this antenna adapter, the FM reception is terrible. Living near a metropolitan area, the FM band if full of "full quieting" FM stations. With this adapter, I receive about 5 stations total, and 2 of the five are weak and with static. I now need to spend time debugging and back again on the phone with tech support.

It works. What else can you say. The small attached amplifier is wrapped in foam to prevent rattling when installed. One star off for the small rubber sleeve easily coming off the rca-style plug when installing. Installed as part of new radio and ReadyHarness purchase.

Adapted the stock powered antenna in my VW Golf with the goofy Motorola-style connector to the standard male antenna end that is required for almost every aftermarket headunit. Seemed a bit long for my use, but this isn't necessarily application specific. The foam padding/insulation is a great addition to reduce noise behind the dash.

Pros: Foam/insulation around components ensures no rattling.

Works flawlessly. Simple product. Used as part of my Pioneer AVH-3800 install. It came with a female connector on the power wire. This was not needed in my case but a quick snip and twist resolved that. There's not much to say as this product doesn't do much and there's no interaction with it after installation. It did need a little time to get it tucked into a non intrusive part of the dash but this is to be expected with this kind of work. No fault of the product.

Pros: Simple and easy to use. Installing took less than five minutes including taking out tools and everything. Comes with perfect wire length (More than long enough to do the job with extra slack but wasn't a hassle to tuck away). Clipped into factory antenna wire perfectly with a nice and solid connection. No flimsy plastic connections that leave me worrying about it coming undone.

Cons: Rather bulky capacitor in the middle. Was a little difficult to get tucked out of the way in my dash but was not an issue. I have a small car so everything is a hassle space wise. I liked the padding around whatever that cylinder is even if it is for piece of mind.

Can now receive a few more FM stations. Hallelujah!.. but still cant receive any AM stations. but I think it may have more to do with VW's notorious corrosion issues with their antennas.

It works but problems with the connector

I got this adapter for a 2012 Chevy Sonic. On the back of the factory radio is an antenna connector the FM antenna and the On-Star antenna. There is no label to help you distinguish which one is which. Also, the keying on the connector for this adapter did not match either of the two antenna connectors. 30 seconds with a utility knife will fix this problem but you still need to use trial and error to figure out which on to connect this adapter to. For my vehicle ( i think this will work with a 2012 cruze as well) the two connectors were black and tan. I think the black connector was for FM and the tan connector was for the on star. This is an amplified antenna so you need to connect it to the blue power (+12v when the ignitiion is on) line from the radio or wiring kit.

Pros: It worked once installed

Cons: Any kind of instructions would have been nice.

This adapter will not completely work on your VW. My 2006 Jetta TDI has two antenna feeds from the in windshield radio antenna. This adapter allows you to plug in only one of the antenna feeds. I ended up purchasing separately the Enfig AAA-VWAUD4 amplified antenna adapter, which allows both antenna connectors to be fed to the aftermarket radio. Check the internet and you will see what it looks like.

Cons: Doesn't really work -- gets half of the antenna input.

After confirming the appropriate connections with Crutchfield tech support, this part allowed me to connect the factory antenna to an aftermarket Pioneer head unit. Works perfectly and I've noticed no degradation in signal in the switch from the factory unit to the Pioneer.

Not the correct adapter for newer VWs

Be warned that if you have a newer VW, at least a MK6 Golf/GTI platform VW, this is NOT the correct adapter to use despite Crutchfield saying it is recommended for my car. Newer VWs have Dual FAKRA antenna outputs. This adapter only has a single connector. So you have to pick one of the two antennas to use. One antenna will give you no AM reception and very good FM reception, the other will give great AM reception but mediocre FM reception. Furthermore, you have to grind down the nubs on the adapter to make it fit into the factory connector. Other companies sell the correct antenna adapter that support the Dual FAKRA inputs; I recommend that you throw this one away if you received it as a freebie. Crutchfield, please source a proper antenna adapter from one of the other 3rd party suppliers who sell them.

For the life of me, I couldn't get the antenna adaptor to stay secure to the antenna lead. They went together, but there was nothing to really secure the two parts. I ended up wire-tying the antenna lead to the plastic flange on the adaptor in order to secure them - hopefully it stays put!

Once wired correctly, this adapts and amplifies the 50 ohm connection to the car's antenna with proprietary connector, to the 75 ohm connection with usual motorola-style car jack in the aftermarket head unit. It works well and the resulting reception is at least as good as with the factory (VW Monsoon) radio, which did this internally.

Cons: None - does require power connection to do its (amplification) job

I had to have this adapter as I was hooking up HD radio and regular am/fm. So far It seems to be doing the job. I don't believe it improves my reception at all but I had to have it and it seems to do what it's supposed to. I wish it wasn't so large I had to shove this behind my stereo in the dash and it was just to awkward and big. 03 passat W8

Used this in my VW Eos. Thing is, my factory had *two* antenna leads. This is only a single one. I've seen a double-adapter but couldn't find one in the US. This antenna worked perfectly for my 2007 VW Passat. The only reason I am knocking off a star is due to its design (& no fault of Crutchfield). Attaching it is simple as pie, but I found if you need to disconnect it for some reason, it was a REAL challenge & a bear to do so. You also have to be very careful not to strip it when trying to disconnect it. Other than this, it works great and radio reception was good.

I used this for my 2006 Jetta. It installed pretty easily except that the connection part to the factory antenna didn't quite fit. The small tabs on the black piece weren't quite the right size. I did make sure that I got the right connection because I have satellite antenna as well. After connecting the blue wire to the antenna power source off the radio wiring harness I got a crystal clear signal and everything worked great.

VW roof antennas cannot stand up to carwashes - I've had 4 so far. When that happens I lose my NPR (AM), so I was careful to maintain the signal. I noticed a 'flea clip' on the end of the antenna lead, so I wired the blue wire from the radio to the adapter, snapped the clip into the empty corresponding space in the adapter and the antenna works fine. I'm certain that the signal is stronger than with the o.e.m. setup. Unfortunately its increased sensitivity picks up some alternator rf on AM. Mu metal, anyone? This device works well.

Had to experiment with where to hook up the the wire. Both my factory harness and the new stereo have a blue wire, hooking them all together didn't work. Ended up with adaptor wire and new stereo wire providing best reception in my VW.

Car-2003 VW GTI I got this as part of an installation kit for a new stereo. First off, there were no specific directions on where to hook up the blue wire. In my case, the harness adapter Crutchfield provided had a blue wire that was labeled antenna and the stereo also had a blue wire for a power antenna. I made the mistake of hooking it up to the harness first. This gave me FM reception, but no AM. I managed to get a volt meter on the wire while the stereo was on and it didn't have any voltage. I also checked the blue wire from the stereo at this time, and it had 12v on it. I had to pull everything back out so that I could solder it to the blue wire from the stereo, then I got both AM and FM reception after that.

The item did exactly what I needd it to do. I just wish Crutchfield would have let me know that I needed this product when I ordered teh Sirius hard wire installation kit for 2003 Jetta.

One thing that worked fine for me is this antenna. I didn't experience the things that other reviewers had (phew!). I have a 03 Jetta with Pioneer DEH-P3000IB from Crutchfield - the tech support guy actually told me to hook the blue wire to the mystery wire on the harness. (note: there are ground, power, and speakers - those are self explanatory. There's a suspicious one that I haven't the slightest idea what it's talking about -- but Crutchfield said to hook that to the blue wire from antenna.) I was able to get AM and FM just fine... maybe it's picky about the radio or model year that goes with it?

It works very well. I followed one of the reviews and did not hook up the blue wire when I installed the radio on Thursday night. I had no AM radio reception. This morning I pulled the radio out , removed the blue wire mounting clip, and tied it into the factory and Crutchfield supplied harness antenna power wire (blue w/white stripe). I now receive the AM signal better than I did with the factory radio.

While this may fit my car, I have lost a majority of FM and AM radio stations. I spend all of my driving time in the city and yet the signal is very very weak.

DO NOT connect the 12V blue wire!!! If you do, AM will not work. Otherwise the adapter works fine. I rated this 2 stars since I had to search the web to find out why AM was not working on my new radio. Hopefully, this review will save someone else time that I wasted getting AM to work.
