Worked great for my 2009 Honda Civic LX-S with no navigation or premium sound system. The only thing I would have changed would have been to have an extra wire added (pin 13) for passing through the VSS wire through the harness. Because this harness does not include a wire for VSS, I still had to cut the original factory harness to extract the VSS signal for my head unit.
Pros: Works great for 99% of basic installs

All the wires were there and clearly colored. It fit the factory bracket but there is no positive locking mechanism. It just relies on friction to hold this harness to the factory harness.

I purchased the metra 70-1722 the only wires that were correct on this harness were the Red Power wire, Yellow Battery Lead wire and the Black negative wire the rest of the wires were none existent on this harness I had to find the factory amp and speaker wire which were on a totally different plug!!! I know when I purchased this on your site I put in my year make and model and it said it would fit so I'm just saying it fit but only works to power the unit your on your own when it comes down to finding the amp and speaker leads this product should be a 2 clip harness instead of one the photo I submitted is the other harness that has the factory amp and speaker leads but thanks anyway!!!

While I am famous for letting the magic black smoke out of electrical wires, this prophecy was not fulfilled in the case of connecting this harness to my new tuner. Everything matches, so you just connect like color to like color and all of a sudden you find yourself a competent automotive wiring technician. This harness makes your life SO easy that you will see unicorns jumping over rainbows above your car as champagne rains down from above.

The wiring harness worked well and all wires labeled appropriately. I do wish, however, Crutchfield's website would have listed additional harness needed when one selects this product. An Antenna wiring harness was also needed. This is not a negative reflection of the harness being reviewed though.

Cons: A couple leftover wires weren't readily identifiable to my original setup, leaving a glitch in overall install. As of this moment I have no sound, but on troubleshooting we think we might have narrowed down the problem. It's just a matter of getting back into it to see if we're right. It's not so much a harness problem as a "not knowing what the factory setup was."

Best investment ever. Saves you so much time! I am a newbie and thought this was easy to use. I cut the ground wire from the aftermarket deck and used that piece to pigtail this harness with the deck's harness, added a terminal, and drilled a hole in the chassis behind the dash via self tapping screw to establish a solid ground.

Clearly color coded to match up with the wiring harness from my new stereo. Many people don't realize this but you have to wire nut this thing to the wiring harness that comes with your aftermarket stereo. Takes a few minutes but to do but not difficult. Also, don't worry if this wiring harness has more wires than your stereo wiring harness. Just wire nut and tape the extra wires so they don't touch each other.
Pros: Stereo sounds great. Easy to match up to after market stereo wiring harness.

2008 Honda CRV
Fits into the Honda radio plug perfectly. Made after market radio installation much easier than expected.

Wiring Harness

I used this harness in 2009 Honda Civic. All I had to do was match color of wires and solder and connect to the new Pioneer Radio. Worked fine.

The pin-outs are spot on, and the harness end plugs in snug to the car harness but easily separated if needed. There is a DIY thread on 8thCivic forums on how to wire this guy up with RCA plugs which allows the retention of the factory amplifier and Sub on 8th gen Si's and other premium sound 8th generation Civics.
Pros: Low cost. Pin-outs are accurate. Great build quality.

2008 Honda Fit
This wiring harness was for my 2008 Honda Fit and a double din JVC unit. The harness worked great. The color coding was right. I was a tiny bit unclear about the remove amp/antenna turn on (both had to be spliced into one wire) but figured this out. Every thing went together without a problem and it works great.
Pros: Well labeled. Everything works great.
Cons: Amp/Antenna wires are supposed to be spliced together and this is not made clear.

Receiver Wire Harness for Honda civic and Sony stereo

This harness connector is the perfect way to install the stereo in any car. The wires on the connector were color matched to the Sony stereo which eliminated any confusion and it took only about 20 minutes to solder and insulate all of the wires. Just remember to put the shrink tubing on the wire before soldering it or you will have to use tape or re do it.

doesn't get any easier. all the wires matched up with the receivers wires by color, just solder together shrink tube to protect then plug the 2 ends into their respective jacks and your done.

Connected prefect to factory, didn't use both of the factory harnesses. Connected to an Alpine 147BT with zero issues, had ever wire I needed and more. I would trust this brand again without and worries.

2012 Honda Insight
Requires soldering, but I knew that going in, and it wasn't very difficult to do, even for a first timer like myself (although I did a little research about it before jumping in). Crutchfield's search engine correctly matched my car to the appropriate wire harness, and made finding and purchasing it easy. All of the wires I required for my pioneer head unit (pioneer deh x3500ui) were present on this harness.
Pros: -Correctly matched my 2012 Honda Insight, and will make swapping head units in the future simple

Good harness, but not complete kit

2008 Honda CRV
This is a good wiring harness for the plug it does cover, but there are two plugs to cover in the 2008 Honda CRV and this kit does not cover the second plug. That forces you to do some wire cutting and soldering in the dash if you want to use your steering wheel controls for your stereo. If they had covered both plugs you could retain all your vehicle features easily.
Pros: * well documented * simple to wire up and solder ahead of time * proper fit of plug * covers all but 2 wires needed to wire a stereo properly
Cons: * leaves off two critical wires you must fish out of the dash manually and solder inside the dash to get working steering wheel - volume controls * leaves off two critical wires that then make the AUX audio port in the vehicle rear a dead port

The product installed as I expected. It would be nice if it had a connector on the opposite end that matched my Pioneer receiver, rather than pigtail end. But overall it is a good product. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another one if I needed it.

I had issues with this harness due to the cheap material it was built. The red wire (ignitionpower pin inside the harness was missing) didn't work and I thought the unit was DOA. So I wasted 4 hours in calling tech support and installing and checking cables and fuses couple of time. Finally found this harness was faulty and thankfully Crutchfield has sent a replacement and then the unit worked finally.

Just sit at your bench with your soldering iron for a few minutes, matching color-coded wires, clearly stated in a directions photo. Afterward, you can go to your car and just plug it into the stock harness block. Then, your electrical installation is done.

2008 Honda CRV
This harness fits my 08 CR-V like a glove! Connecting the color-coded wires to the aftermarket head unit was a no brainer. Everything works well after installation--even the dashboard (factory) tweeters! You'll lose the factory subwoofer and AUX though, since those come from two separate harnesses. In fact, the EX-L model head unit comes with five different harnesses, but this one is certainly the most important one. No complaints whatsoever!
