Wiring Harness: This wiring harnesses prevent you from having to cut your vehicle's factory radio plug when replacing your factory radio with an aftermarket head unit. Simply solder or crimp the wiring harness to your aftermarket head unit's harness (solder & crimps not included), plug the aftermarket head unit's plug into the rear chassis of the aftermarket head unit, and plug the wiring harness into your vehicle's factory radio plug.

Note: Installation tools, hardware, & accessories are not included & sold separately. Please see the Accessories tab for recommendations & availability.

Wiring Notes: If the wiring harness is not equipped with a ground wire, you will need to ground the aftermarket head unit's ground wire to the metal chassis of your vehicle. Some vehicle's may require you to bypass the vehicle's factory amplifier (in another location from factory radio) or hardwire certain connections. If your vehicle is equipped with factory steering wheel controls, an additional adapter is required & sold separately.

Q
Does this work for my 94 f250 xL I have it but is not working, could it be from the pins in the harnesses?

A
Greetings Preston. Thank you for your question. There are a few different wire adapters for the F series pickups in 1994. Some came with a small factory amplifier located above the gas pedal. Please call one of our advisors at 800-324-9695 with your vehicle and factory radio options. They will find the right harness for you.

Q
Would this work with my 94 f250 XL I have it right now but it's not turning on, could it be possible that the pins in the harnesses are different?
birdman  Apr 04, 2025

A
Hey Preston, this will depend largely on your vehicle trim and offerings on that truck. Looks like its the correct one for some but there are also two other harnesses that may work based on a few qualifiers. For details on installation please contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and give you the details on what you will need for an installation.

Do they come separately? Are they split apart or are both wiring harnesses connected together ?

Greetings Carter. Thank you for your question. As you see them in the picture is how they come in the package, and you get both in the package.

Greetings Gary, and thank you for your question. That model harness production date before 2013 had an orange/black, and a black/white wire. Both were not used. Post 2013 that same model harness had the orange/black, and the black/white wires removed. Tape them off, and dont use them.

My '97 F150 Lariat Premium OEM stereo has a 6 disc changer, and 4 speakers with a 16 pin wire harness and the 5 pin harness (grey above). I cannot find a kit that has both wire harness' together in a kit. Any suggestions?

You will want to contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat to discuss compatibility with your factory system. They will be able to pull up your vehicle to see if we have something that will integrate, and any other options available.

Q
My radio dont have the orange cord to connect to. Does that matter?
kaiden  Jun 08, 2021
1 answer
A
Orange is the dimmer/illumination. If this doesn't matter to you,, then you will be fine to run your headunit. Sometimes, the orange wire may be a different color, just depends. Make sure to look for the dimmer/illumination wire.

Will this world for Mach 460?
ethan  Mar 29, 2020
1 answer
A
I do not have a car with Mach 460 but this unit has a fairly conventional wiring interface and there appear to be specific pre configured interface cables available. There are also some very detailed installation instructions from several sources. The most comprehensive that I found are located on the ModdedMustangs website.
