Lyn from Independence, OH on 8/16/2023

The original four wire plug sent and the replacement plug both had open circuit due to a wire not making contact with a prong inside the plastic plug head. The manufacturing quilty is very poor. I repaired the second plug sent so I could finally get the radio installed.
Pros: Customer Service is very good.
Cons: Plug quality is very bad

Should of pulled the Becker out to see what connections I had. On 88-89 Mercedes there are 2 amps behind the rear seat back not in the trunk. I even contacted Crutchfield's tech support to ask about the speaker connections. Was told just connect the adapters to the round plug on the cars' harness and to the radios' high side. Well an amped set up does not use the round connectors and does not use high level inputs. I questioned the tech on this, the reply was older cars did not use low level inputs they use high. Fast forward, no round connectors present! What is need is a three pin connector to RCA left and right jacks. I had to make this up myself by using an rca to speaker wire adapter and soldering pins to it to fit the cars 3 pin harness. Yes I could of cut the harness off and went wire to wire but the reason for buying a kit is to make the install quick. Be able to fo it on a bench not hunched over in the car, then just plug in the plugs and slide the head unit in. So only able to use 1/2 the kit, the power harness was just fine, having paid extra for i day shipping saved me very little time in the end. I give it 2.5 stars but since 1/2 stars are not an option 2. Yes you can retain the stock amps. No you do not need to run new speaker wire. You only need one adapter that is not included! Note: I wanted to preserve the stock connectors to be Able to reinstall the original Becker unit.
Pros: The power connector is just fine.
Cons: Speaker options are incomplete. The 4 pin power harness, well it is only 4 wires. Cutting the cars' plug off may be cheaper. The 4 speaker connectors are only for Becker units using an internal amp.

This allowed me to get a cheap unit through Crutchfield and now I can finally have some music while driving. As an added bonus, when I bought the radio, they included this harness at a deep discount! Steven from Portland, OR on 4/29/2019
1990 Mercedes-Benz 350SDL
1990 350SDL (V126) The power/ground plug matched the wiring in my car but none of the speaker connectors were of any use whatsoever. I have researched this extensively and depended on the favorable reviews here to determine that this would probably work on my car. I should have paid more attention to the various Mercedes forum posts that told me this would be a bigger undertaking than Crutchfield led me to believe. I am going to end up paying someone rewire the whole speaker system in the car. Not happy. You would think that someone would have figured this out after 29 years.
Pros: Power plug fits
Cons: factory speaker/amp connections aren't supported

Cleverly designed to fit the Mercedes!
bnobob from Georgia on 1/11/2015
I used this harness to wire in a Pioneer KEH P-2030. The designers were clever. I did not need to cut one wire, merely connect the 2030 wires to this adapter harness! ( I did however, need to fab up a 5" piece of stranded wire w/ 1/4" spade/male lugs on both ends, as the radio wire was a tad short, but that was on the Pioneer connector harness. ) Just wire this ganglion up to the P-2030 connector wires, and snap everything in place! No wire cutting inside the Mercedes (mine an 1989 300E) console. Top notch! BTW: I didn't use crimps, or electrical tape. I did a 3/4" twisted splice, and had heat shrink on the wire, that I then slid over the soldered joint. Made the harness slick and thin. Then finished off with Ty-Wraps.
Pros: So easy !
Cons: Would have been neat for them to add the 5" auto radio/antenna wire.

This harness works perfectly and lets you install a new stereo head without cutting a single wire from you factory wiring harnesses. Be sure to solder all connections and use heat-shrink tubing sleeves to prevent shorts behind the dash. Install was in a 1987 Mercedes 300D (W124 chasis).
Pros: Connects perfectly with the Mercedes factory wiring plugs..... installation is a piece of cake and you don't cut a single wire from your factory harnesses.

Mercedes Wiring Adapter Harness

1984 Mercedes-Benz 380SL
My installation was on a 1984 380 SL [1983 & 1985 will be the same] High quality harness. Splice this harness onto the connector that comes with your aftermarket radio. On the Sony radio I installed, the main harness color codes matched perfectly. FYI, the instructions that come with this harness make no mention of connecting the power antenna control wire, as that function is not controlled by this harness. The blue/white wire on my radio connected to it. Best to obtain the install manual for your radio and obtain a copy of the wiring schematic for your Mercedes stock radio. This can be obtained from AllData.com or Mitchell OnDemand. Also available from most auto repair shops which have this software [in case you have a mechanic friend]
Pros: High quality components. Comes with speaker adapters for 4 speakers, in case you need that many.
Cons: none

The harness came with instructions, well made, was super easy to solder up with my Pioneer Wiring harness then made my install pretty plug and play with one small exception. The 1986-87 300D Turbo has a physical fader in the instrument panel and the instructions are for wiring it with the fader still in play. It would be nice to also have some instructions on how to bypass the fader so all the speakers function discreetly.
Pros: Easy, Well Made
Cons: Only one method of install provided in instructions.

I used this to install an Alpine ida-x305 into a 1985 Mercedes 300D with the factory radio/cassette without amp. Worked fine. On this model car it's a little weird that there's a front/back fader in the center console, so you're really only wiring two of the speakers out of your stereo. Unless you want to run new speaker wires, which I didn't feel like. But, the harness does exactly what it's supposed to.

I took an RCA off the front preouts ran them to the amp and cut soldered the rca to the amps to get subs to work. The 4 main speakers need to be directly wired. Also this car uses a powered antenna so that blue wire (accsessory power) needs to be run to the trunk.
