The Amp bypass harness for my 2005 dodge 1500 was just what I needed to finish the stereo install. When I ordered the harness I was supposed to get a set of instructions, but when it arrived there were none. Others than that very satisfied.

Awesome Technical Assistance!

So there is a different preamplifier in some 04 Dodges that that did not have UConnect installed. Turns out mine did not have UConnect but did have the UConnect preamp, which I discovered when I had the dash torn apart. Sent a few photos to Shay in the service department and he quickly recognized the harness that would actually fit my truck and sent to me in 2 days! Once I had the correct harness the plugs fit the truck perfectly. Shay also sent very clearly detailed wiring instructions, which step by step illustrated exactly which wires in the bypass harness connected to which wires in the stereo harness, the axxcess steering wheel control unit, and bass blockers (to tie in and protect the dash tweeters). Thanks to both Shay and Troy who helped me get everything I needed to replace the defective factory unit in my Dodge with a Really nice Kenwood receiver I had purchased from Crutchfield a number of years ago and was no longer using. Great products and Really Great technical assistance make Crutchfield my go to electronics experts!!

The adapter harness fit well you have plenty of wire to tie into new stereo you'll have to trim which is better than not enough no complaints at all.

Call Crutchfield before ordering. Everything I read told me I needed a 6512 because of the outputs on my factory amp but that was wrong. I got it, started installing then had to call because it didn't match up. The customer service was insanely helpful and they sent out the 6510. Once I spliced in the new part it worked perfectly. Everything is labeled and super easy to read.

Nice wire harness

Good set of wires and easy instructions. Had to cut a lot of extra wire but better than being short

Good Wiring Harness

The harness worked well. There was a lot of extra wire for my application. A little confussion on hooking up the bass blockers to the correct wires but it all worked out. The only other trouble was hooking up the camera, I did it a different way then what was in the instructions due to not being able to find existing wires on the pickup as directed by directions.

2005 RAM 2500

Perfect for bypassing the factory Infinity amp. Be careful if you have the rare 2004.5 with 7 speaker Infinity system, Crutchfield's system defaults to the 6512 harness and I can tell you first hand it does not work. Customer support was awesome as always and got the right harness out immediately.

Highly recommend

My initial purchase didn't pan out due to the wrong harness, but it really wasn't Crutchfield's fault as models come with or without certain features. However Dakota made it right! Highly recommend this item

This harness fits perfectly into the factory speaker harness (bypassing the factory amp) as well as the power harness allowing you to easily connect an after market stereo. My truck had the Infinity sound system but the amp kept cutting out. I recommend this product, but not the "Ready harness service". If you can, make the connections yourself.

Great Quality Product

I was glad to see the quality of the connectors and the wire. Perfect fit. More than enough wire to make all the connections. Instructions for my Infinity system was a little confusing at first but only because I didn't know the system. After I pulled all the panels and removed the factory amp everything made sense and the new harness connected perfectly.

Wiring is great, Crutchfield is even better

Great harness, the wires are a bit long but I guess because it's for more than 1 vehicle. Crutchfields wiring guide was perfect though. This was my first install and everything works great!

Great Product

It took me four tries to find the correct harness, but once I actually called Crutchfield Technical Support I was put on track. This was the exact harness I needed for my late 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 to bypass the factory amp and get my new Pioneer touchscreen stereo thumping. The wires are extremely long, which is probably good for certain applications. In my case, I cut down all but three feet leaving me a bunch of colored wire for other projects.

Once I was sent the complete instructions on how to connect this to my truck it was easy but the first email I got from Crutchfield was missing some important steps. I called tech support and was sent some emails detailing exactly how to wire to my truck. The second time I tried to call support I was unable to make contact. The instructions said to leave 4 feet of wire which was twice as much as needed. The harness comes with WAY to much wire. What a waste.

Crutchfield instructions were very clear, up to the point of removing the wiring connector from existing amp in my '04 Dodge Ram 1500 (infinity Sound System). You may be assisted by a pair of right angle needle nose pliers to pinch the release pin on the wiring connector on the amp, as there is very little clearance for your hands. Beyond that, the 70-6510 Bypass Harness worked perfecctly! I am happy that I am mow able to use my Kenwood system with bluetooth for my smartphone (that's what I was really after). I will be looking to Crutchfield again to add subwoofer system in the not-too-distant future. Thanks Crutchfield!

Does what is advertised - connectors are wired correctly. Attached wires were plenty long enough for the application. I wish that the item was offered in two or three amounts of wire lengths. I currently have approx. 35' of wires left over.

Careful

Make sure you have the amp, you can't just rewire the harness they supplied if you don't, my mistake but a big pain if you're looking for plug and play

Boom!

Worked great. Easy instructions. I had wired my subs to the rear speakers using a line output converter, but wasn't satisfied with the results. Once I bypassed the factory amp, My sound went through the roof. Due to Crutchfield's amazing and knowledgeable customer service, it was the right harness for my truck which was a difficult year to find correct parts for.

Worked excellent to bypass the factory amp on my 2005 Ram 2500. Crutchfield provided very helpful instructions. The biggest pain in was getting the factory harness disconnected from the amp. Requires quite a bit of dissambly of the dash, but that has nothing to do with the quality and ease of use of this harness.

If your lucky enough to get one of the few Dodges where the CHTO-02 does not work or want to use the full potential of your after market front door and dash speakers then this is a must. I would recommend complete removal of the amp when using this product since it will give you move room to run the wires and make the connections. Also use zip ties to hold the connectors together since they don't appear to snap and lock into each other. Color codes for the 05 Ram 1500 are as follows (may not use all): Door Speakers Left Front - White (+)/ White Black (-) Right Front - Grey (+)/ Grey Black (-) Left Rear - Green (+)/ Green Black (-) Right Rear - Purple (+)/ Purple Black (-) Dash Speakers Left - Yellow Blue (+)/ Yellow Black (-) Center - Brown White (+)/ Dark Blue Pink (-) Right - Yellow Red (+)/ Yellow Orange (-) Sub woofer - Green White (+)/ White Red (-)
