The bypass harness fit perfect, the other harness didn't line up with my stock harness to connect to the car wiring, but very effective and fixed my problem. Got a new radio installed and it works great now!

If you have tweeters and a factory amp, then you need this!
Ryan S from Santa Clara, CA on 3/21/2022
2006 Toyota Tundra
Thank you, Crutchfield, for carrying this harness. I would appreciate it if the harness and the amp bypass wiring were sold separately, however. If installing your own amplifier system with RCA's, the amp bypass is unnecessary. However, the wiring harness that plugs into the front is all that was needed for my purposes. Also, it is important to note that you will need to re-connect your A/C panel plugs in order to test that all systems are a go. It won't work unless your re-connect them.
Pros: Works!
Cons: Amp bypass is unnecessary if installing your own amplifier and using RCA's.

This harness is the perfect match to the factory connector, has more than enough wire length to reach the head unit, and easy to install. Connector at the dash end is also a perfect match for my '05 Tundra.
Pros: More than enough wire length. Color coded with head unit wiring, making it easy to install.

Harness Worked Great !!
Crutchfield customer from West Palm Beach, FL on 9/9/2021
2005 Toyota Tundra
Simple and easy install on my 2005 Tundra access cab, just make sure you don't tangle the wires or you will be sitting there sorting out the wires...... I would suggest that you add extra zip ties on the wires and a wire loom to keep it all together nicely, other than that it worked perfectly
Pros: Simple Easy Install
Cons: Needs more zip ties and maybe a wire loom to keep wires more secure

Perfect for the Non-JBL premium audio first gen Tundra
Andrew from Warminster, PA on 4/14/2021
2005 Toyota Tundra
Absolutely perfect for what I need. Spent countless days researching how to connect my aftermarket stereo to my first gen tundra, without the JBL system and the amp in the back, and this product did just that. Spent about an hour or two connecting wires and running the wires back to the amp, and it was plug and play from there. Super simple, and I'm getting crisp music now! I hope everyone that needs this product finds out about it. It's honestly a life saver.

Best harness ever! Struggling with this upgrade for days. 2005/06 Toyota Tundra extended cab 4 door (two small suicide doors)(Non-JBL) with door tweeters and the amp under the rear passenger seat (under black plastic cover in some cases) Two local car stereo places said it wasn't possible. It was, with this great product. Thanks. Highly recommend.

Metra 70-8121 Amp Bypass
Crutchfield customer from USA on 12/18/2017
2005 Toyota Tundra
Long overdue item no doubt about it..Thank you Metra for supplying easy use equipment nobody else offers us "again". Bought this 2005 Tundra Access (extended) cab and this was the perfect solution to bypass my factory Toyota amp (Pioneer sticker on amp). NON-JBL UNIT ONLY...NOT 4 JBL.. Shame Pioneer/Toyota forgot to add any watts and speakers only 6" to the amp, you would think it would have power behind the 6 stack cd player they put in it too? Nope!! This system was a huge waste of time to even build imho and Toyota should be ashamed of it. Simply unplug oem "output" speaker plug from amp, snap this into the output harness itself and wire it back to receiver, done! I blame Toyota & Pioneer both due to what I know.. Pioneer has always been like burger king as they build exactly whatever a company asked for and still slap their name on it somewhere.
Pros: easy, simply unplug output from amp, snap this into output harness and wire it to receiver, done! I Removed old amp under rear seat. Long enough to reach back wall in crew cab 4 doors I had a few feet extra. For non-JBL units..
Cons: Hard to locate this harness. Not on Merta website to date?
