The installation of my new Pioneer TS-A879 dash speakers in my 2025 Toyota Camry was very simple and took very little time. This was mainly because of the great instructions and a wire harness provided by Crutchfield. The sound quality is noticeably improved with clearer high frequencies better sound in general.

Great harness for plug and play. However, the length of the speaker leads is very excessive. I have previously used this harness in a Subaru, and now also in a toyota, and it's just too much length. Other than that, it's a well made harness.

Worked great on my 2021 Rav 4 LE. The harness wire length is way longer than you need, but you can coil and tuck them into the speaker space. White wire goes with positive (red) and black with black. The harness connectors are even sized uniquely so you cannot mess that up.

I don't think I could have completed my installation without this wiring harness. I was installing front dash speakers on my 2023 Subaru Forester base model. The car didn't come with dash speakers, but the wiring is in place from the factory. I popped off the passenger-side grille, easily found the factory harness, connected the Metra 72-8110 and I was on my way. But on the driver's side, I reached inside the speaker area and didn't feel anything. After using a small mirror and flashlight, and poking my phone into the speaker hole to take a few photos, I saw the existing wiring. But, on the driver's side only, Subaru took the last few inches of wiring and looped it back onto itself and taped it down (maybe to prevent any possible rattling?). While the tips of my fingers could feel the end of the connector, I couldn't pull it free from the tape. I didn't want to remove the entire dash just to peel away the tape to get easy access to the connector. I though about using a long knife to cut away the tape, but I would have been cutting blind and didn't want to risk cutting the wiring and not just the tape. In the end, I took the end of the wiring harness, inserted it into the opening, and with one hand was able to awkwardly find the factory end and clip them together. If these speakers ever get removed, I'll have to cut the wires, there wouldn't be any way to unclip the harness with one hand turned at an awkward angle.

Paired with the Kicker 46CSC354 for my Subaru. The Kicker's came with some wire crimps so I was able to cut off 18+ inches of extra harness cable to lower the cable management needs. 18 gauge.

Long. I mean really long wires for my application. I cut the wires down about halfway so that I didn't have to wrap them up and store them some place. Otherwise plug and play - though a bit tight to plug into the speaker just take your time and support it behind the tabs.

Missing extra spade connections show in pictures

Great for keeping factory wire harness, no splicing love plug and play. My only gripe is that the pictures show extra spade connections I did not receive those. I had to get more because the wire was too long for my application by about a foot. And also needed to add bass blockers.

These came with Kicker 46KST2504 tweeters and were installed in a 2012 Scion xB. Since the tweeters include a crossover, the instructions were not very clear how to integrate the additional components, and whether or not to cut the additional circuit loop. Tech support was all over it, and was very clear to NOT cut the loop (or you lose your main front woofer / mid speakers) and how to splice what to where. In the end, everything worked fine for functional front main and front tweeter speakers.

The harnesses were included in the tweeter kit, along with 4 crimp on butt connectors. Cut the wires down, and spliced them to the crossovers (I also cut a foot of wire off the crossovers). Plugged everything in and sound is amazing! Next up is the door speakers!

This is a decent harness for installing aftermarket speakers. However, I found the polarity was incorrect when installing into my 2022 RAV4 Hybrid. Splicing wires was required to correct the polarity. This was only discovered when closely comparing the Crutchfield wiring guide to the harness position when installed in my car. There is no noting of this on the website.

Pros: Good for upgrading to aftermarket speakers without modifying stock wiring/harness

I like the fact that this plugged into the factory harness since I did not want to completely retire the speakers. I did have to cut the speakers connectors because they did not match the connectors. Not a big deal to solder. Plus they were longer than I really wanted. But quality feeling product and made wiring all the speakers very easy. The rest of the adapters just plugged and went..

Works for intended purpose - creating a parallel circuit at the speakers to send the same signal to a woofer & tweeter. In my case, I bought a speaker set that included a crossover so I only used these as jumpers to complete the circuits to the woofers - then simply coiling the pigtails and tucking them away as unnecessary connections for my installation.

I appreciate the free harness, but it is NOT plug and play with my 2021 Toyota RAV4 Prime. The polarity is flipped. The small spade on the connector is positive, and the big spade is negative. This is opposite of what it should be based on the speaker documentation. Ended up splicing and crimping the wires. Honestly, if they just gave me connectors and the plug, I would have just done it myself. Oh well.

To be clear, this is not a reflection of Crutchfield but rather the first letdown I have experienced with a Metra product, The connector fits well but the wiring could be done better. The short loops that must be cut and spliced to use a component system are short and being that they are the same color without any directional marking or an included diagram from Metra, you'll need to know your vehicle's wiring. I personally spent the money on a better harness elsewhere. This is just an instance where I feel Metra has let the consumer down.

This harness is NOT plug and play with the Rav4 Generation 5 (2019-2021). The positive and negative are flipped so you still have to cut the wires, switch them, and crimp/solder. There is no mention of this in the Rav4 guide that Crutchfield provides. Nice of Crutchfield to supply a free harness but irresponsible in that it is not plug and play. Wonder how many people have installed this thing not knowing the positive and negative are flipped, tbis having a flawed install...

Cons: You have to flip the negative/positive for the current gen Rav4 meaning more work for you and you better have means to crimp/solder

This adapter was perfect for installing new dash speakers in my 2018 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid. I was leery of replacing those speakers because it didn't seem like there was a easy way to wire them (besides a Taco Tunes adapter available online) so I was thrilled to see Metra finally offer this.

Used this to wire up a pair of tweeters in a 2021 corolla sedan dash. a note on polarity. On this year and model, and this probably also applies to the 2020, the connector is pinned with pins 1 and 2 (pin 1 is farthest from clip) are negative, and pins 3 and 4 are positive. I confirmed with the schematic document from Toyota Information System for the Audio System with Built in (to the radio) amplifier. this is not consistent between models. This means that you need to reverse the polarity for this particular vehicle, and consider the white as the negative, black as positive. I believe the current generation Rav4 also uses the opposite polarity but I can only confirm the corolla sedan. It would be useful to compile a list of which vehicles use pins 1 and 2 as positive (standard) and which vehicles use pins 1 and 2 as negative (backwards). This is an issue not unique to Metra's harness, but all similar, so I can't realy blame Metra for Toyota's inconsistency.

Pros: With some cutting, soldering, and Tesa taping, makes a professional looking harness

Cons: Toyota is inconsistent with polarity on this connector, some models are backwards.
