Metra 82-3013 Corvette Speaker Mounting Brackets

Different from stock bracket. Not very good at this. Old bracket took two speakers and new one only takes one speaker. I guess i need to make something to mount three new speakers. This is what i was given.

I am sure they would have worked

On my 2001 C5 I have started to make minor audio upgrades. I was replacing the speakers but I wanted to continue using the bose crossover that came with the car. If you want to use these brackets, then you must remove the OEM mounting bracket and the OEM crossover. However by using these brackets they opens this particular cavity, and the tweeter to possibly be in direct contact with water. The crossover is covered and embedded within the door via the OEM cover. On these conversion kits I prefer it when you can use existing mounts but in this situation that wasn't the case. In the end I printed my own brackets and set these aside.

Great mounts, with a little TLC

These worked great for my C5 Corvette mounting Sony XS-162ES component speakers. I was able to just barely fit everything on them. I put the woofer in the normal spot, the tweeter right above it, and the crossover on the backside. The OEM Bose speaker has a very large casing that recesses into the door, so the crossover fit behind this mount just fine. I also wrapped everything up with foam to avoid any rattles & get a good seal. The speakers sound fantastic all said and done - these brackets won't let you down!

Doesn't fit. The woofer area is too large in diameter, at least for a 2002 Corvette.

Once we saw this review, our Tech Support specialist, Gage, reached out to this customer to help him further. We'll either help him get the speakers and brackets installed correctly or help him return them for an exchange or refund.

Not a good fitting part

These do not work well with the JBL 6.5 component speakers I purchased. The opening is too large for the speaker and leaves a very large gap around the speaker and this part. I used some one-sided sticky foam to close the gap. That should not have to be done. The plastic housing itself does not line up exactly with the oem holes in the door. It takes some effort to get the screws to start since some had to be started at an angle. You would expect these to fit perfectly since they are made specifically for this installation. I do not recommend buying these but they came free with the speaker installation kit. So I got what I paid for.

good concept and worked well for my needs but the screw holes did not line up with the holes in the door. I had to embiggen them. Much easier than trying to make my own and they came free with the speeekers.

Great with Mods

Here is what I did: The factory door speaker cartridge has a perfect position for the 3.5" in the top. I cut that portion away from the Metra brackets. The lower 1/2 of the bracket is perfect for mounting 6.5" mids or speakers in the old 8" Bose position and add an extra 1/2" to 3/4" of depth to the mount. I filed the tabs off the original cartridge allowing the Metra brackets fit flush. Adding good baffles creates a sealed enclosure. Looks, fits, and sounds great.

C5 Corvette Brackets

Although the mounting holes are slightly off, the overall fit was great. I used a bit of sound deadening on and around the brackets after mounting before installing the speakers. The kicker components fit great. I used to install car audio professionally and would definitely recommend these mounting brackets.

Almost perfect!

Good product, I only gave it 4 stars because it took some modifications to fit as desired. But overall I am satisfied with the quality.
