Q
How does the radio mount inside of this assembly? Do you need to drill new holes on the side of it? Also, will this support a single DIN radio that has a 1.5 DIN screen? Thank you for the help.

A
This is pocket meant to be installed in place of a separate CD or cassette player in compatible vehicles. It is not meant to hold an aftermarket radio in the dash. We will have the radio mounting kit for the vehicle. I recommend contacting a product advisor by calling 1-800-324-9695 to get a personal recommendation on the radio mounting kit as well as check if this pocket is needed for your vehicle

The Metra 88-00-3302 pocket mounts in place of the factory CD or cassette player in your 1995-2001 GM truck or SUV, Spyke. This pocket is used in addition to a vehicle specific dash kit to mount your new radio like the Metra 99-3002 in the below link. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_120993002/Metra-99-3002-Dash-Kit-Black.html

mine got pretty tight too. Just play with it but be careful not to break it. Supposed to be tight, don't want it loose

To the best of my recollection, it was an extremely tight fit, and kind of snaps in with a fair amount of pressure.

Hi, I installed the Metra Pocket in a 98 Tahoe during a resto/ mid. I at first had the same issue. If you closely follow the instructions and apply slow constant pressure it will finally pop into position. I was leary of so much force but it worked.

Does this go where the factory cd player went? The one under the climate control, not the head unit.
