Physical volume knob need not apply

The mounting kit works fine with the dash of my 2012 Chevy Silverado. However it does NOT work well with the Dual DCPA723W receiver. I wanted a touchscreen receiver with a physical volume knob which limits the choices. The Metra recesses the receiver so deeply that the volume knob is flush with the dash, and the Metra edge makes contact with the volume knob. These two issues make the knob virtually useless. So if you are buying a receiver with a physical knob, you probably ought to avoid this mounting kit.

Good Fit But Be Careful

This kit fits very well once you figure it out. Since this is a generic adapter, instructions are basic depending upon radio and vehicle. For example; instructions say to install from the rear of the radio. For my particular radio (Sony) it fits over the front. It can also be installed upside down. In my installation (Chevy Express) the difference is not noticeable until you install the dash fascia. (Left a 1/4" gap above the radio). So take your time, make some preliminary fits into the dash and adjust as necessary.

Good but not compatible asa listed

The product itself is good. It is not compatible with my 2018 Isuzu NPR-HD as shown to be on the website. We tried to modify it which makes it not returnable. Crutchfield does get our highest marks as this is the 1st time I have ever had this kind of an issue. The listing needs to be updated to take it off of the compatibility list though.

Good fit but positions receiver back slightly

Good adapter. Fit nicely in place. Please note that the trim sets the receiver back about 3/8", which interferes with turning the knob on the receiver. The knob works, but you have to reach it awkwardly.

Not the best fit. The frame is about 2mm too wide to fit into the factory dash piece on my 2007 chevy Tahoe. The mounting bolt points are also very cheap plastic so you have to be extremely careful about tightening your deck down...

I'm very disappointed the stereo sits recessed behind this mounting kit. If the stereo isn't flush to the dash it doesn't look factory. Mine sits 3/8" in making the knob of the radio hard to use.

CHEESEY

When I first got the install kit I was so excited to get the deck in the the dash and fire it up but screws that hold the deck deformed the plastic so bad it seemed cheesey to me. I know it probably would have held and the install kit was made for every deck mounting option ever made.but designated holes or slots would have made for a more secure option just my opinion. so I ended up buying a separate deck mounting kit (money down the toilet) that was not offered from Crutchfield.

Very strong and straightforward

seemed flimsy at first, but when assembled was very solid. would use again. The only "hiccup" was the trim came too close to the volume knob, so it required a tiny bit of dremeling to make the knob usable (this is specific to the radio I used)

Received two right hand mounting bracket to unit angle brackets in the bag and had to trim and drill one of them to"make it work" on the left. Other than that this kit worked and looked good when finished.

I don't know, man

The kit does the job, but I don't have a whole lot of faith in the side pieces holding the receiver. The side pieces are made from a thin and flexible plastic. The mounting slots, obviously, will accommodate a wide range of vehicles and radios and this allows for a less than specific design. Additionally, the screw supplies are designed to fit flush or counter sunk. The rounded edges push what little material is there out of the way. Care must be taken when attaching the panels to the radio to get a secure fit. I'm sure there are a million of these kits out there doing the job as designed, but I have my doubts. If the screws were a pan head or flat, they would allow for more purchase of the panels. Time will tell the tell but no problems so far.

It works, but it's been difficult to get the install just right so that the lines are level, square, and plumb to the rest of the dash panels and controls. I think it would be better if the bracket sides were metal, and some of the screw slots were slotted vertically and not just horizonal.

2007 Silverado LTZ

Installed in a 2007 Chevy Silverado LTZ with a Boss BVCP 9700A and it fit pretty well. Only 1 screw hole matched up on each side of the brackets. I had to loosen the screw that fit to move the bracket enough to make a second screw fit. I ended up with 2 screws on each side but think it should have more.

Not a fan. The first one that I owned lasted almost two years before the tabs broke off (something that I noticed when doing other work). Even the build quality feels cheap. Definitely not the same quality that we use to have several years ago.

The top part of the trim was not an exact fit. It left a 1/16"-1/8"gap in the corners of the trim made it look like a cheap aftermarket piece or possibly something universal that was made for multiple trim packages and/or vehicles.

Overall, the kit fit my 2012 GMC very well. The only issue that I have with it is that the face of the radio does not flush. Instead, it is recessed approximately 1/4 inch. It would have been nice to know that up front.

I test fitted and not sure if it's the stereo or the dash kit but it doesn't sit flush and is very inset to the dash kit. With the small buttons in the corners it didn't seem very functional or a good fit.

fit perfectly! I would only recommend the addition of a small note in the installation instructions. While it mentions 'left and right sides' it should note that the top and bottom are different widths externally. measure them and put the wider side up.
