Matches factory

This panel is required to upgrade an older Chevy with a new head unit. My dash is textured and was worried it wouldn't match, but to my surprise it was exactly the same. I do have to paint it to match but it's hardly noticeable with a dark dash color. The only thing I would say is the factory air vents do not fit perfectly and will freely move when hitting bumps. Kind of annoying and I may add some material in between to keep the vents from moving around.

Didnt fit that good when snapped in the top right side was loose when you pushed on it wrapped in tape and helped also the vents didnt line up to factory foam so had to add and one factory vent is loose after installed and one is stiff and rubs

Good fitting kit. I replaced the kit I had previously installed from Amazon, and the Metra unit is far superior in its form and transition to the head unit. Painted with Vinyl paint to match the dash and it is perfect.

Easy to use kit

Easy kit to use and works well for intended purpose. Instructions left out that some minor trimming would be required to opening in order to fit sleeve. Instructions also left out that snapping bottom of kit in place would be easier if retaining clips were removed from vehicle, installed on kit then reinstalled on vehicle when kit is installed. Otherwise there were no issues with this kit and I would definitely recommend.

Fit perfectly in place, the way it is made, I didn't have to remove the stock support, which was a huge plus!! My son's head unit fit right in, was beyond snug, and He's extremely happy!!

Good fit

Good OEM fit. Since Crutchfield didn't offer the red (only black), I purchased a red unit online from another source only to find out that the dash clips didn't fit the dash holes correctly and the air louvers rubbed and were difficult to move. I ended up using the black unit from Crutchfield and it fit perfectly in he dash and the louvers move freely. The contrast in color actually looks pretty good as well.

Why wouldn't you buy this

When replacing your factory stereo it is simple and a great investment to purchase a new dash housing for it as many stock ones do not allow for custom stereos.

Perfect fit and color very easy to install!

Bought this as part of a Christmas gift for my dad. His old factory deck stopped working properly and i wanted to give him the gift he would like but never buy for himself. He doesn't like the none factory look so i knew this color matched product would be the only way to go! He loves it!!! And now can play all the cds hes collected over the years which before he only played at home.

Great Fit

Used this to update the stereo system in a 1992 GMC Sierra. Worked well, fit my new head unit fine and the stock factory vents fit great. Just make sure to re-use the springs which come with the factory vents. Also, I would recommend placing the DIN sleeve in the adapter PRIOR to clipping it into the dash, as I had to remove the dash adapted to get the DIN sleeve to lock in properly. It may require the metal mount inside the dash to be bent slightly in order to fit the entire radio.

Not bad but...

Fits better than the factory one did. Doesn't rattle. The downside is that the factory vents are very loose in this one and just kind of flop around up and down

You gotta have this!

This is the ONLY way to install a new radio in your older truck. I painted it before install to match my truck. This adapter looks better than the rest of my OEM dash.

In-dash Receiver Kit

Finally a way to do away with the stereo being in one place and the old cassette player in another. This kit made the intallation really easy and it looks good too. The AC vents hooked right up like they're supposed to. It even has easy to follow instructions if you're a little unsure of how it all hooks up. Great item that I highly recommend.

Haven't even placed my order yet, don't need to before I give it 5 stars and write my review. I have not ever gotten anything from Crutchfield that didn't work great just as advertised, straight out of the box. It is always a true pleasure working with real pros that know their stuff. You guys ARE THE BEST in anything when it comes to anything in auto stereo. Thanks for being there. I find it helps me greatly when I'm smarter than the equipment I'm working with. Worked Great

Put it in a 1993 Chevrolet Silverado it worked just fine. Also used the GM wire harness adapter and GM antenna adapter and made it an easy job.

A little narrow for the dash opening compared with the factory insert. Otherwise, everything fits and works. Provides the extra rear clearance needed for installations in these trucks.

The unit fits well into the dash and holds the radio well. I even painted it to match the dash. On problem is that the dash vents fit too loosely. They are so loose that the vents won't stay where you put them... I shimmed it so it works but I shouldn't of needed to.

Fits great!! the vents where loose but i fixed that with adding more tension to the spring that holds them in.. My JVC looks sweet where the tape player was, It being black looks good against the red, no complaints here at all. Just glad to have my Stereo installed.

It's OK for a used truck

The vent grills do not pivot like the OEM Install, Black color easily fixed with color matched paint from a auto parts store.

The face plate fits fairly well, It would be nice to have a choice of the Factory Dash colors ( ei, Gray etc.) looks somewhat odd having a black face panel on a gray dashboard.
