Kinda have to buy it

Yes it's expensive but honestly it's not bad quality. Fit as good as the original and wasn't too cheaply built. And really theres no other way to install an aftermarket stereo anyways. Specially in these types of situations.

Perfect part for the Escape

The glossy black matched perfectly the interior trim in my daughters 2011 Escape. I got this to convert her from the stock radio to a double DIN carplay model. This was the perfect part for the job.

2012 Ford Escape limited

Direct fit and clean install. All instructions are included for your type of head unit. Pay attention to the finish of your dashboard panels. I ordered the matte black finish and did not realize I needed gloss black until after I ordered I called Crutchfield the next day after the order was placed, and they happily took care of me by shipping the glossy black panel I needed. Crutchfield supplied customer service at its best!

This is the best unit for putting an aftermarket radio in a 2008-2012 escape. Very good instructions, and the radio mounts to the unit, rather than other dash kits that make you mount it to the car. This makes the installation much easier, and very straight forward.

Perfect match

This dash kit perfectly matches the piano-black dash in my 2011 Ford Escape Hybrid Limited. Attaching the side-brackets was a snap - no tools required. I used it to install a Pioneer DMH-W4660NEX - and my only small issue was that the trim ring that fits around the screen had a small 1/3 inch lip on the back that recesses the screen into the dash. I preferred to have the unit flush in the dash - so I used a dremel to remove the lip (take your time and go slowly - I used a small dremel tip that looked almost like a drill bit - do NOT use a cutting wheel or you risk sawing the trim ring in half). Going slowly, I was able to fully remove the lip all around the trim ring and now the Pioneer unit fits flush in the dash and looks great. Tip - do NOT dremel off the four tabs on the trim ring that secure it to the dash.

Crutchfeild has always delivered a good product at a reasonable price (if not better) then what I can get at my audio store near me. I dont hesitate when I need a good sound product. And also their customer support is top notch either on the phone or thru their web talk page. I NEVER had to have anything sent back for a refund/exchange cause of faulty or misplaced order order on my end.. I HIGHLY recommend crutchfeild for ALL of your audio equipment .. Would give 4.5 stars if I could, the way it fits my dash and the color are both dead on, but putting my double din Kenwood in, took a few minutes of pondering. The head unit fit VERY tight once I put the side plates in the dash piece. Didn't want to break anything, but ended up forcing it in and it all worked out. Once it was bolted in and tightened down, it was beautiful! Highly recommend.

What can I say, it matches the rest of the stock dash, hols the Double-DIN unit I have nicely without excessive flexing. I've only had installed a few weeks but so far no signs of premature wear or de-lamintion. I'd recommend it for those looking for that high gloss finish to match stock dashes.
