Plug and Play: Chevy Silverado 2003

Worked like a charm for my 2003 Chevy Silverado 1500. I utilized the Pioneer DMH-W3000NEX, as well as the other recommended parts that were suggested by Crutchfield. I purchased the Crutchfield Ready Harness alongside with it, which virtually made it plug and play, as well as professionally spliced and tidy. One note to those who may or may not have a similar issue that I had: When purchasing the Ready Harness service, be sure to identify which 12 pin connector the chime box adapter is plugged into. I didn't notice that out of the box the chime box adapter was plugged to the wrong 12 pin. If this happens to you and you install your radio without noticing this minor detail, your radio will not turn on. Taking 5 seconds to swap them to the correct 12 pin will correct this. I was scratching my head for the longest, suspecting fuses and internal wiring until I realized it was a simple issue such as this.

Saves time

Saves time doing self install. I also added the pre-connected harness for the extra $28, very well worth it & saves both time & frustration. Original chimes were retained, not that I necessarily like chimes but reminds me to take my keys which I sometimes forget.

Incompatible

This doesn't work with my vehicle (2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer), despite manufacturer saying it does. Stereo won't turn off.

Very easy to install. Wires were marked clearly. I tugged on all the crimps to make sure that nothing was going to pop out of the connectors. Clearly well made. The only thing keeping me from giving it a 5th star is that one of the connector's locking tab was broken off. I mounted the harness so that it wouldn't be a problem, but the missing tab was not in the bag so that tells me that it was knocked off in production of the harness. But otherwise, really nice harness.

Didn't work for my 2003 Tahoe. Wired it up perfectly as directed. I didn't have any other extra stuff like Bose. Still didn't work. Connected radio to power source. Aftermarket radio works perfectly.

2006 Silverado with no SWC

The website alone was awesome for finding the right harness for a 2006 Silverado LS with no steering wheel controls. Had to wire the red accessory to the ac control connector(brown wire) to get it to power up. The smaller black OEM connector didnt have to be wired in either on this setup. Awesome product

Worth it!

Definitely worth the extra money to retain your factory door/key chimes. Fits nicely on top of my receiver unit tucked away in the dash.

Interface for sound

Saved our bacon

AWESOME. I'm so glad I paid for the wiring harness. My son and I had a late-night install in his car prior to leaving for college. This harness saved our bacon since we would not have had time to connect each wire independently. The expense to have the harness built was reasonable and paid for itself in the time we saved. I would recommend it to others.

Perfect for 2003 GMC Sierra Extended Cab

This worked great. The wiring diagram sent with this helped a lot. I don't have steering wheel controls so those wires weren't used. Other wires that we not used were shortened, shrink wrapped together and all stored in wire loom. The the audio signal was pushed in back. When I turned on the truck, the radio worked great and the box was dinging because the door was open. Everything was functioned as it should.

A "Must Have" optional accessory

So happy I purchased this. Talk about making an installation hassle free, this is IT. Completely plug and play. Well built and taped harness. Flexible enough to easily coil into the dash. Plugs were quality. Chime allows all factory functionality and warnings to remain intact.
