Great harness

I got frustrated with Volkswagens mismatched color scheme and with previous owners hacking the original equipment, I ended up not using this. However. The quality of this harness is fantastic, I did have it half wired up. Before just giving up and wiring my radio directly to Volkswagens harness. *my wires on the car were very hard to work with. So that's what led to to wire the radio directly. I don't suggest doing this, as it will cause issues later on. But for now it works in my instance, and I don't plan on ever selling my car.
Pros: Ease of use, easy to wire aftermarket radios.
Cons: None

Connects as it should, but..

I did my install on a 2004 Vw Passat so all my notes here are related to that install. The interface and wiring worked perfectly. No issues there. Be advised though that while the wiring is spot on, getting everything to fit behind the radio when You begin to push it in is going to Require cutting away most of the original radio support to get all that wiring to find a spot to fit into, getting the radio to sit flush. You'll work at it but eventually it'll fit. Note, nothing about a radio upgrade in the B5 Passat will be able to be done without dash modifications. A shallow double din radio is most helpful.
Pros: Easy connections to make it all work
Cons: Lotsa wiring. It'll begin to bulk up trying to fit the radio into its proper position.

This harness was excellent and no modification needed. I paid for the extra service for Crutchfield to wire up the HU's harness to the universal harness and it was totally worth every penny (less than $30). It saved me maybe 45mins of taking my time soldering and heat shrinking each and every wire. Plugged it to the back of the HU, plugged the other end to the car's harness and BAM, HU fired right up and all worked as intended!
Pros: Excellent time saver
Cons: none

Worked great in my 2012 VW Golf. Was a lot of crimping to wire up to the Sony harness for my new head unit but the info Crutchfield sent specific to both was perfect. Totally impressed with the info from Cructhfield and how straightforward it was to install a new head unit myself.

Worked Perfectly

Bought this after having battery draining problems with a new stereo I installed and found out that I needed a certain wiring harness to stop that and make the stereo turn off and on with the ignition. Wiring it to the stereo was easy, just made sure to triple check the wire colors to make sure it matched. I followed the initialization instructions in the pdf and it worked! Now my stereo turns off and on with ignition, doesn't drain my battery and the dimmer works perfectly with my headlights.
Pros: Wires were all correctly colored with the standard auto wire colors, so no mix up when connecting with stereo wires.

Crutchfield premade harnesses are a time and headache saver. I've installed about a dozen at this point. Just spend the few dollars and get one. No soldering, just plug and go. And there's always more than enough length.
Pros: Perfect every time
