Features

Step-Down Converter: When replacing factory radios in vehicles with factory installed amplifiers (mainly in Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury vehicles), an audible "pop" through the speakers may be heard; especially the subwoofer. The main reason for this "pop" noise is that the factory amplifiers do not require 12-volts to turn on, but instead require 5-volts. The Axxess AXFD-5V 12-volt to 5-volt converter takes a normal 12-volt turn-on from an aftermarket head unit and drops it down to 5-volts, which the factory amplifier handles better. A 3-wire hook-up makes the AXFD-5V simple to install.

  • Connect the Blue/White wire to the aftermarket head unit's amplifier turn on wire.
  • Connect the Black wire to chassis ground.
  • Connect the Blue/Red wire to the vehicle's factory amplifier turn-on wire.
