Quick and easy installation in my 2012 CRV. Programmed itself quickly. Adding steering wheel control module SWC1 was a simple plugin after this unit finished programming. You do lose the compass indicator on OEM display but other features - including setting clock from steering wheel menu - are retained. Couldn't get into advanced features on my Alpine ILX-W650. Called manufacturer and was told it's not compatible - Alpine needs to see brake on, then off, then on and this device only generates one "on" pulse. Called Crutchfield customer service, was told they believed it should work and were surprised that the manufacturer said it didn't. Couldn't get to wires to connect brake sensor directly, buried behind fuse box and parking brake bracket. Not hooking up camera as car retains OEM, could have saved a lot by ordering kit with SWC1 alone. Brake wire should work with other heads units, just not Alpine. I DID select correct car, OEM radio/speakers, and head unit before purchasing. Probably 5 stars for others installing a different head unit, in my case not so much.

Pros: Quick install SWC1 interface is big plus System works and sounds great! Customer service was polite and friendly

Cons: Clock retaining function actually doesn't work with my car, but still able to set using OEM menu as before.
