About the T-Spec DB-1424

Buck Pomerantz

Distributes ground securely and neatly

T-Spec designed this DB-1424 distribution block to handle the high-current grounding distribution for two amplifiers, while keeping your wiring connected securely and looking neat.  This hefty little block combines the ground wires of two amps to a single grounding point. You can also use it for distributing the positive voltage in a system that doesn't need fusing at the distribution block. Solid black nickel-plated brass construction ensures reliable power flow, and an impact-resistant plastic cover protects your connections from the weather. You'll need Allen head wrenches to install this block. Warranty: 1 year.

What's in the box:

  • Grounding block with one 4 AWG set-screw input and two 4 AWG set-screw outputs
  • Plastic cover (attached)

I need a block that has 1, 4gauge input and 1, 4 gauge and 1, 8 gauge out. Will this work for my configuration?

Yes sir, I purchased one and installed it on my '99 Mustang Cobra SVT, works like a charm! I have one 4 gauge input, one 4 gauge output and one 8 gauge output.

Not really, although... if you have to have a certain look and you know a few tricks, anything can be done. If this block will come free of the plastic (I think it will), I'd recommend you just have someone solder the wire directly to the block and be done with it. But if it doesn't, your best bet is to find a piece of steel about 0.8 - 1.5 millimeters thick, and a bit wider than the hole. put it between the jaws of a vice with a finishing ball peen hammer and a piece of wood and squeeze the peen side of the hammer right into the wood, through the steel. With any luck you'll wind up with a small steel "bowl" that's about two thirds the size of the hole. Play around for a bit and get the shape right, it's important the bowl matches the hole well. Put the bowl in the hole, get the 8 gauge spread out under it so every bit of wire will get pinched, and tighten. If you go this route you will get the look you want without extra blocks, and still have a good contact patch. ...or just find a block that has an 8 gauge hole, lol. Good luck

this product will work for that. There is a metal spacer ring that has to come out in order to accept the 4 gauge wire and leave it in on the other opening for the 8 gauge. I have the same setup in my car and it works just fine.

This block will give you one 4 in and 2 out, you can fit both 4 and 8 gauge wires. This block worked out well for my application. It was easy to install and it has a good build quality.

hey michael... great little block. has enough room for 4 gauge all around, and the set screw is long enough to tighten an 8 gauge wire no problem.
daniel  Jun 17, 2014
Yes, the outputs r for 4 gauge but it'll work for #8 too since it's smaller
