About the Ethereal HDM-GA2

Steve Kindig

Pump up the speed of longer HDMI cable runs

Ethereal's second-generation HDM-GA2 gigabit accelerator works to repair common issues between HDMI-enabled devices by acting as both an HDMI repair tool and signal extender. It can boost the speed of existing passive HDMI cables to 24Gbps for lengths up to 15-1/2 meters, and 48Gbps for lengths up to 9 meters. It's designed to be used only with passive HDMI cables, and should be installed at the display side of the system.

It's designed to be used only with passive HDMI cables, and should be installed at the display side of the system.

The HDM-GA2 has the latest in high-speed digital audio and video restoration to support just about anything you can throw at it. It's one of the best long-distance HDMI solutions we've seen, and should perform flawlessly with 4K, HDR, and even 8K signals at extended distances.

Connect the HDM-GA2's female HDMI input terminal to the display end of the passive HDMI cable coming from your source component (cable can be up to 15-1/2 meters). Connect the female HDMI output terminal to the input of the display with a passive HDMI cable (cable should be 1/2 meter long or less — we recommend this Ethereal cable). This low-profile device is easy to mount behind your display.
