AGM technology

XS Power's deep cycle batteries feature a sealed absorbed glass mat (AGM) design which incorporates special glass fiber mats that contain the acid electrolyte between the lead plates, rather than a standard flooded (liquid) design. This leak-proof, non-hazardous configuration typically lasts longer than normal replacement batteries if properly charged. These batteries actually store energy, so you don't have to add a capacitor to your system to get a quick burst when you need it.

Leak-proof design

Since there are no external vents on an XS Power battery, you can mount it in a passenger compartment, below a seat, or inside a glove box without fear of leaks that cause corrosion or damage to chrome or paint. XS Power guarantees their batteries will not leak, even if damaged. These batteries also resist extreme vibrations so they'll perform in the trunk or hatch area without skipping a beat.

XS Power's D3400R deep cycle 12-volt battery provides up to 3300 maximum amps and has a capacity of 80 amp-hours. Reversed terminal polarity allows it to work in a number of popular vehicles. Improper charging can permanently damage the battery (including but not limited to swelling), and will void the warranty. Features

Overview: The XS Power D3400R is a 12-volt battery that is designed to be used as a supplemental power source in your vehicle, or it can replace your vehicle's OEM battery. It can supply the power needed to run your high-powered audio system, better than a standard battery.

Note: The D3400R is a reverse polarity version of D3400, meaning the terminals are on the opposite side (left is positive, right is negative), compared to the standard polarity battery.

Terminals Needed: This D-series battery does not come with battery terminals, so you will need to purchase the proper terminal adapters for your application before installation can take place:

Car Stereo Installation: You will need terminal adapters that fit the inner diameter of your power ring terminals. Recommended terminal adapters include: Two 5/16" brass stud adapters (#589), Two 3/8" brass stud adapters (#590), Two 5/16" + Two 3/8" brass stud adapters (#588), or Two 3/8" zinc-plated steel stud adapters (#587).
OEM Battery Replacement: The D3400R fits the BCI Group 34 vehicle applications and will fit GM vehicles applications. For vehicles with side-post terminals, an i-Bar (#551, #555, #556) can convert the top terminal into a side terminal, and provide terminals on the top for connecting your amplifier power. If you are installing the battery under the hood or replacing your vehicle's OEM battery, you will need either the Short Brass Post Adapters (#580) or the Long Brass Post Adapters (#586) to connect your battery cables. The HD-3400 Aluminum Hold Down can also be used to install the battery under the hood.

Absorbent Glass Mat (AGM): XS Power's AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) batteries use a fibrous material to suspend the liquid electrolyte against the lead plates. Because the electrolyte is absorbed in the material, there is little chance of an acid leak, even in the event the case is ruptured. AGM batteries contain more lead compared to traditional "flooded" batteries, thus producing more power.

Charging the Battery: It is very important to properly charge an Absorbent Glass Mat (AGM) battery before using. Improper charging will permanently damage the battery (swelling, etc.), and will void the warranty. XS Power offers two 12-volt High Frequency IntelliChargers designed for charging AGM Batteries: the 8-amp HF1208 and the 15-amp HF1215 (both sold separately). The chargers have a microprocessor that monitors the charging process to avoid overcharging, and are strongly recommended for this battery.

Note: If the battery is damaged (swollen, etc.) due to improper charging, or from not using an intelligent charger, Crutchfield will not accept a return on this item.

Can I use a Noco Genius 5 to charge this and not void the warranty?

Technically, XS Power states that you should not charge their battery with a charger producing more than 14.4V. The Genius 5 provides 14.84V. By comparison, XS Power's own charges only provide 14.4V charging. It is possible that providing too much voltage for charging would be considered a violation of warranty.

My first D3400 had a 3 year warranty, the man in the office in Tennessee at XS-Power Main office was a "Brass-Plated Prick" was very nasty and argumentative with me. If there are any issues, you can always deal with Crutchfield and they might be able to help. I understand policies but they at the main-office could be less confrontational instead of sending people on a wild goose-chase. The jerk knew I was disabled and even after three places and myself checking the battery myself. Again, 3 years/36 months is my understanding for pro-ration. Crutchfield is always excellent, they will work out things with any issues, no worries. They are great.

will this fit in a 2017 toyota 4runner?

I would say "YES" based on the way Crutchfield explained it. I have mine in a 2002 Toyota Camry, so a 4Runner should be a snap. They sell in-at different places XS Power Battery Protector kits-insulators that protect your-our investment/s as well by repelling some of the heat from the battery that our engine compartments have that can affect the batteries over time. I think I paid $29.00 for mine, although I love the fancy decals etc. I want to protect this expensive investment. I had an issue with the Texas heat and had to put a charge on the battery, (Older D3400), but she is holding nicely now! Construction is great. I bought it because I want the reliability as I am disabled and don't want to get broken down. The customer service at XS-Power in Tennessee leaves a lot to be desired as there was a man in the office that was a jackass, but Crutchfield always stands behind their customers like you and me always! This is why I bought another from Crutchfield. I believe it would fit no problem for you.

Easy way to check is go autozone web n look up battery size n then compare the size group that fits your truck n make sure the battery post are in same position too
