Pioneer for the win - again!!
Scott from Rome NY on 7/2/2025
2006 Ford Mustang
I went back and forth when it came time to upgrade but when it came down to it....I always seem to gravitate to Pioneer from back in the 80's when I did my first upgrades on Dad's Crown Victoria, it was a Pioneer then and with today's upgrade, it's Pioneer again. This unit just "fits" with my Mustang....no fancy touchscreens, just solid, era specific performance. And for the ones that complain about the display getting "lost" in bright sunlight, so did the factory unit, and with multiple color options, I was able to get one that really shines through. I am over the moon pleased and my cell phone sync'ed right up with no issues.
Pros: Great Pioneer tech - even greater Crutchfield price, options and support.
Cons: Wish I did it sooner.

Justin from Puyallup, WA on 6/9/2025
2002 Ford Mustang
Purchased this unit to upgrade my 2002 Mustang GT from its stock stereo. I wanted a unit that could play my cd collection but also let my girlfriend stream music on road trips. Not only does it look great in the dash, but the sound has improved dramatically. It has great volume and sound clarity compared to oem. Tons of adjustability in the bass & loudness. The 31 band eq and other smart sync app functions are really cool. Simple to install with the parts provided by Crutchfield. Fit like a glove. Now my Lil hotrod has tunes to match the pipes and you guys will be my go to to expand the capabilities with amps & a sub when I'm ready! Crutchfield really impressed me with not only the selection, shipping time & customer support. Glad yall are here for car audio noobs like me. It literally couldn't be easier.
Pros: Wildly easy install, simultaneously easy menu setup, but an awesome depth of settings especially with the smart sync app, great sound & bass from the new infinity primus speakers, looks great with serious color customization thru the app.
Cons: Not all the color options show well in daylight for the screen, but in my application the whiter colors work great during the day. So there may be more or less merit to the "dim" display reviews depending on placement, angle and your chosen color. Both headlight off/headlight on dimmer have individual brightness settings so definitely check that out if you're having that issue.

High Quality Sound At a Respectable Price!
Jose A from Oklahoma City, OK on 5/16/2025
2008 Honda Civic
Pioneer has done it again with this affordable gem. I've purchased this model recently to replace the factory setup in our 2008 Honda Civic LX Coupe, which did not have any blue tooth capability. This head unit is an impressive upgrade. The sound quality and power output is superior over the factory head unit. It looks great in the dash, too. My wife and I are very happy with this purchase. Thank you Crutchfield for stocking such great quality car audio products. Keep up the great work!
Pros: Slick design. Blue Tooth and phone capability. Easy to operate.
Cons: Physical installation can be a bit challenging in a 2008 Honda Civic. Had to use some of the factory clips to secure the aftermarket dash adapter. Despite all of this, the end result was awesome!

The sound is not as good as my last radio, it's ok but not great. the reception is ok if you manually tune a station. i was traveling & hit the seek button it kept on going &going. wouldn't lock onto a station .In N.Y. city it couldn't find a station!!! the bluetooth did NOT work with a motorola phone, it would scream distortion from the left front speaker & I couldn't turn it down. I just tried my new iphone, & it works perfectly. The unit is not user friendly to set up anything. I do not recommend this unit !
Pros: the color options did match my dashboard

Its really good, love the customization options and overall feel. The volume knob could be a little bit smoother around the edges (maybe a bit bigger too) but I'm extremely satisfied with it. At least once a day when playing music (CD or thru bluetooth) it seems to trip for half a second and I'm not sure what the cause is. Not really an issue, I only noticed because I have my favorite songs memorized and can tell when certain notes are shortened by that half second and leaves me guessing for a little bit. No problems other than that.

Konrad from Tucson, AZ on 11/6/2024
2008 Honda CRV
Pioneer has always been my number 1 preference. I have some B-Brand touchscreen android auto in my truck that I am less than impressed with. So, When it came time to set up my wife's CR-V we knew Pioneer was the go to, the priorities were Bluetooth, CD and a knob for volume control. Simple, easy to connect, no fumbling around a touch screen. The FH722BS is a great head unit, quick to connect, and it allows for a wonderful sound to come out of the factory speakers nice upgrade that's well worth the dollar spent. It processes quickly with no complaints, and the mic provided picks up calls quickly and clearly. If you're on the fence, this unit will do the job, and do it well. The only gripe is that the info display could be brighter, with the angle of the dash it kind of glares a bit and is hard to see. Upside to that is a SWC that is required to retain steering wheel controls and Crutchfields ready harness service allowed me to save a lot of time and headache figuring that part out.
Pros: Clear sound, easy controls, volume knob, CD player.
Cons: Dim display.

My biggest praise for this radio is ease of learning the programming. No small buttons all over the face to try and locate on the road, large rotating volume knob and really great sound. And install was a snap in a Ford F250. The stock radio/cd player crapped out and at 67years old, I wanted to replace it with as simple a swap as I could . Speakers next up. Thanks!
Pros: Perfect fit and sound.
Cons: Bouncing around in a 3/4 ton truck with fat fingers can still upset my settings!

2005 Jeep Liberty
This review rating is not really about the unit but my and my wife's frustrations trying to make it work. I purchased an open box like I have done many times before. After install the instructions included are ok to learn how to turn it on and off but not how to work things like tone, balance or to change colors. For the last couple of months while driving if I get a chance at a stop, we mess around on how to work it as we couldn't find a manual online. I do retire next month and plan on learning how to use it, if not it will go in the wife's jeep.
Pros: Nice colors at night.
Cons: For my jeep it listed some trimming required. It was a bit more than that and if I needed cords for an amp to fit major trimming would be needed.

My son and I installed the pioneer FH-s722BS in his 2009 Toyota Camry. Installation was relatively simple especially with the wiring harness already pre wired by Crutchfield , I had a question about setting the dip switches for the steering wheel controls but Cory with Crutchfield knew exactly what I was talking about and had the answer to my question immediately. The FH-s722BS sounds awesome with the new speakers we purchased from Crutchfield. My son's IPhone connected easily to Bluetooth and Spotify app. The hands free sounds clear and works awesome! I would give the Pioneer FH-s722BS five stars for ease of use it's really easy to control and set up. It has more than enough power for the four upgraded 6 by 9's we installed along with the stereo. I have always been very happy with Pioneer in the past and we were more than happy with the bold sound, seamless connectivity, and ease of use with our latest pioneer purchase !
Pros: Easy to connect to Bluetooth and apps. Great hands free sound quality and easy to setup and use.plenty of power

Because of the radio design, needed to carefully review initial operating instructions several times to understand functions. Radio has interesting features and am enjoying it; chose it for the volume knob, Sirius option and size to fill the dash once the old receiver was removed. I am still learning about its features after self-install a week ago. Am happy with it so far. I like having the volume knob which seems rare on electronics nowadays-would also like a channel change knob but I don't see units with that feature anymore. This radio has color personalization that outline the unit when it is in operation which was not a priority for me in selecting the radio. Overall, the unit meets my needs. Crutchfield is our Go To store for electronics--knowledgeable staff, good products, and prompt service.

This is a nice unit, and for the price I have no complaints at all. But the more important thing here is the service I got from Crutchfield. This unit was shipped perfectly packaged, and the wiring harness and the new mounts were perfect as well. Everything arrived boxed together and in perfect condition upon arrival. THAT, to me, is the most important part of doing business with a company. So, yes, the Pioneer unit is a nice unit, very easy to operate , and a reflection of Pioneer's continuing quality in their stereo builds, but the service, shipping, and promptness of Crutchfield is the big deal.

Great upgrade for older cars
Erick from Weston, FL on 6/8/2023
2013 Nissan Leaf
Easy install on my 2013 Nissan Leaf with basic factory (2 DIN) stereo. Accurate Crutchfield adapters and instructions. Paired with 4 Kenwood KFC-1666S speakers. The Pioneer FH-S722BS is definitely an upgrade for my old car without going over the top (I wanted to avoid touch screens). My favorite source is bluetooth app which allows me to smoothly play HD songs from Amazon Music and control playback and volume from the steering wheel thanks to the Crutchfield recommended SWC adapter. Next upgrade will be a small bass to complement the crisp medium and high frequencies I already get from the Kenwood speakers.
Pros: Pioneer App helps with the syncing of my Android phone to the car (make sure you set it not to sleep so that it can connect automatically every time you start the car). You press the big navigation button on the stereo and the app launches Waze or Google Maps, plus many other cool features.
Cons: The Pioneer-provided instructions were lacking a little bit but this can be easily overcome with a search on YouTube.

It works.
Ryan from Roanoke, VA on 4/26/2023
It works, but the UI/UX is clunky and hard to navigate. In addition, the connect app has limited usability, and smdoesnt want to reconnect to my cell phone about 90% of the time. I also hate that there isn't a dedicated subwoofer button where you can quickly adjust it if needed. Yeah, there's a "Bass" button, but I find it more or less pointless. I would expect it to take me to subwoofer levels or cut the sub output off, but it just changes the EQ. Regarding the menus and settings, to get to the subwoofer settings for example, you have to press the volume key to get to the menu, go to audio and click the volume key to accept, then scroll to Subwoofer to go to those settings, then press the volume button again to make changes. It's kinda hard to do when driving, especially with how reflective the screen is. Overall, I hate just about everything about it and will probably sell it online. I wish I spent some more time and money, but I really wanted a physical volume knob. My old Pioneer Premier was great, but it doesn't have Bluetooth. Its that old. I'm very disappointed with it.
Pros: Physical Volume Knob!
Cons: About everything else. The user interface/user experience leave a lot to be desired.

The good: solid product, installation was simple enough in my '07 4runner. Sound is noticeably better, menu navigation is relatively simple. Overall I really appreciate how simple using the device is. The bad: the physical quality of the stereo feels a little cheap and plasticy, you definitely notice it less once it's installed into the car, but handling it I couldn't help but feel like it was a little flimsy. I am very excited to start my sound system build in a couple of weeks. I chose this Pioneer head unit to go with my Pioneer speakers, and because I'm old school like that, I want a cd player.
Pros: this product fits my needs and my budget at the same time. I had a Pioneer head unit back in the early 2000's. HUGE factor as to why I went with Pioneer again.

No manual for how to do setup.
Crutchfield customer from Franklin, NC on 3/2/2023
1999 Jeep Wrangler
I've used Pioneer products for many, many years. They have always been great. I bought the FH-S722BS to replace my very old, broken Pioneer in my 25 year old Jeep Wrangler. I'm 70 years old and love my oldies on my USB flash drives. I found that Pioneer now believes no one listens to music in a moving vehicle is over 25 years old. It took HOURS to figure out how to program this radio to perform as a radio and not an extension of a smartphone. It comes from the factory programed to be an amplifyer for a smartphone, and with no user manual or instructions to get it to act as a radio/CD player/music player. I had to look up the manual on line, copy the pages that had to do with setup and use as a radio, and they reprogram the thing. It works great now, but I'm disappointed in the agism of Pioneer (and probably every other electronics company).
Pros: Great sound.
Cons: No manual, and set up from factory as an extension of a smartphone and not as a car stereo.

Better Sound -Easy to program!
Syd from Sarasota, FL on 1/20/2023
Immediately I noticed so much better sound coming from this unit than the previous one. It was easy to install and a bonus was being able to use the same wiring harness I purchased from Crutchfield 6 years ago for the last stereo. When it comes to programming (color, radio stations, setting up Bluetooth, etc.) it's the easiest and most straight forward car stereo I've ever owned. The only thing I don't really care for is the front panel of the unit - it seems like it's not the usual Pioneer quality I'd expect and I'm not sure how it will hold up over the next few years - but for now I couldn't be happier.
Pros: Great Sounds, Easy to program
Cons: Front panel feels a little cheap - not sure how it will hold up.

Fantastic improvement over the factory radio. I cant believe how much better everything sounds by installing this unit. It is easy to navigate the menus and has plenty of display choices. The only thing I don't understand is the accompanying Pioneer app for you phone to connect and offer more controls and display, I just don't find it useful or necessary. Overall this is a great stereo, would recommend.

Love it! Install in my 98 Trans Am went smoothly. The old monsoon head unit had bitten the dust a few years ago and had been wanting to find a replacement for some time. The included instructions helped and having the harness wired by Crutchfield saved a bit of time! thanks
Pros: looks great and functions as it should
Cons: DDin install requires cutting part of a bracket for the original stereo if it was ever desired to be put back in, this would need to be set back in with some epoxy so I kept it with the old stereo.

Use the bass-boost button as a bass-cut!
Bob from Natick, MA on 9/13/2022
2004 Toyota Highlander
Here's a trick for this Pioneer and any other unit with a bass-boost button. I listen to podcasts and NPR in the car, which often have exaggerated bass on voices due to the proximity effect. So, I EQ'ed the car using the Pioneer Smart Sync app to access the unit's 31-band equalizer, and set it for tight, accurate bass for music WITH THE BASS-BOOST BUTTON SET TO ON. Then when I turn the bass-boost off, the effect is a bass cut that sounds better with voices. Other reviews are correct about the convoluted menus to use this unit, and that the display is almost impossible to read in bright daylight. But it sounds good! Update the firmware FIRST to the latest version before you spend any time setting it up. If you update after you set up, you'll lose every setting you made. Ask me how I know...
Pros: Can be made to sound great with 31-band EQ
Cons: Display is hard to read in bright daylight Crazy-deep menus, little buttons

Great sound...finally...but took lots of EQ tweaking
Ryan from SOUTH BEND, IN on 9/7/2022
2012 Toyota Camry
First, this radio does push nice sound but ONLY after I created a custom EQ setting. All of the pre-set EQ settings sound horrible. So much so that I almost shipped back my radio and speakers. Second, I've only ever been used to "bass", "mid" and "treble" settings and this comes with like 8-9 frequency settings which in hind sight is nice...you just have to play with the "+/-" setting on each frequency to see which setting sounds the best to you. It does provide a much more desirable sound than just "bass/low", "mid" and "treble/high" settings, it just took some tweaking to get used to. It sounds great now and I abolutely love it. But you need to fix the pre-set EQ settings, they are horrendous.

OK radio, terrible design
Matt from Somerville, MA on 6/4/2022
2003 Subaru Outback
Installed this in my 2003 Subaru Outback. Looks OK, sound is great. But it has a deeply stupid and confusing interface. Three huge round buttons on the front. You'd think they'd be mapped to the most common things you'd do on the radio? Maybe on/off, play/pause, tuning, that sort of thing? Hah, no. The left one does one thing: turn the bass boost on or off. The right one opens the maps app on your phone if you have the terrible, buggy Pioneer app installed. Note that it doesn't actually do anything, it just opens the app. Turning the middle dial does change the volume, but pressing it takes you to the system menu, which you will only ever access when setting up the radio. Meanwhile, to turn the head unit on, you press a small side button labeled "src". To turn it off, you long-press that same button. To play/pause a music track, you press the tiny "4" button. Ridiculous. Anyway. It works fine, and installation was a snap with Crutchfield's excellent directions. But I regret buying it. It's made my car uglier and harder to use.
Pros: Great sound quality Nice set of features
Cons: Confusing and poorly designed interface

The unit sounds good, and everything works. I don't recommend this radio because the display totally washes out in daylight. You can see my photo, even with display brightness set to max, you barely see the display inside of the garage. It is impossible to see outside. The screen is so shiny that it has a lot of glare. The radio also has poor reception compared to the factory radio.
Pros: Sounds good, easy to use controls, and Bluetooth works good.
Cons: Poor reception. (With proper antenna adapter) Display is impossible to see during the day.

Great radio for a "factory" clean look in an LT trim pickup. No cluttered looking screeen or finiky touch screen. All steering wheel controls work.using the Crutchfield installation harness. I wired it up by soldering/shrink wrap , swapped out old unit and was up and running in 1hr 15 mins. Audio is very clean and full. The quality of audio from this head is amazing considering the price point. Perfect for a family vehicle that you occasionally want to crank and not have messy distorted audio. I installed 6in subwoofer in the rear doors some time ago and this head unit drives them stronger than i could have hoped without having to use an amp. Very happy with purchase and Crutchfield made it super easy with installation/ wiring guide, harness and bracket.
Pros: Sound quality Low cost Simple, uncomplicated use
Cons: No touch screen Simple design, minimalist

Display Drops Power
Travis from COEBURN, VA on 11/23/2021
2009 GMC Sierra
Like the two most recent reviews, after about a year, the display started malfunctioning. It would go dark and none of the buttons/knobs would work. It kept playing, you just couldn't adjust volume, change channels, etc. The only solution is a hard reset, which I'm now doing at least once per day. I also utilized the Crutchfield Smart Harness for installation, so I don't think it's my wiring abilities. As also mentioned in another review, the illumination is terrible, all but useless in sunlight. I can live with that but the display drop is incredibly annoying. To be clear, this is not a criticism of Crutchfield, they're always great, I'm just suggesting you consider another unit if you're looking in this price range.
Pros: Good sound Nice appearance
Cons: Display drops power EVERY DAY Illumination is subpar

The display would blank out and none of the controls would work, but the music would keep playing. When this happens, I'm unable to control the volume, nor able to turn the radio off. This has on many different ocassions. Sometimes when I'm driving or even when the car is started up. It is totally random. The only way to reset the stereo is to turn off the car's power and restart. Sometimes this doesn't even work. The music keeps playing!!!! Ugggg

One star rating because unit needs to be replaced 15 months after installation. 3 months after warranty ended, the display would blank out and all controls would not work, but the music would keep playing. Have to turn the car off & back on to reboot the unit and hope the problem would not happen again. While it was working, I thought it was a good radio for the price, except that the display was too dim to see in daylight, no matter what color or illumination level I chose.
Pros: Price Sounds good Bluetooth pairing quick and easy
Cons: Reliability - needs to be replaced 15 months after installation. Display is too dim to see in daylight, no matter what color or illumination level I chose.

All you need to have a 2020 current radio
Rob from Huntington, NY on 10/16/2020
2007 Ford Explorer
I haven't had an after market radio since my early 20's but a recent purchase of an old(er) used car left me craving some missing features that have become common in the last 10 years. This radio is slick, smooth, colorful and sounds great! I wasn't originally going to pay any more for a CD option, but now that I have it, I'm glad I did get it. My 2007 OEM radio actually had a CD and it made me happy. The services all seem to work flawlessly, and the navigation button pulls the app back up on your phone. This radio is more than fine on its own, but I think it's best as a companion radio to a nearby mounted cell phone. Anyway, that's it. Great product, I may add the warranty before the 30 days are up, but it was super affordable. Oh and lastly, GET THE pre WIRING assistance. If I didn't have that, a 20 minute install could have been 3 hours. It make no sense to pass up that great offer, have them do the ONE hard thing there is about installing an after market stereo. And the color can be customized to match your dash, so it doesn't look silly out of place in an older vehicle too. Solid choice, great price and Crutchfield had it to my door in maybe 2 days with all the brackets and adaptors included, FOR FREE!
Pros: Bright colorful display, Sirius Ready, USB & Aux in front. Sounds great. Easy install, easy navigation app access, Pioneer customization app links to radio
Cons: Sometimes not viewable in bright daylight hours. A little bit of button playing to jump services.

Great Factory Stereo Replacement
Cody from Bloomington, IN on 9/28/2020
2014 Subaru Impreza
Great head unit so far. Bluetooth was failing in my factory radio, so it was time for a replacement. Hands free phone is clear on both ends. Smart Sync App makes changing settings fast and simple. I was able to get a illumination color that closely match my factory dash illumination. My only disappointment is that no one seems to make an adapter to connect to the factory mic on a Subaru Impreza. Instead, I moved the factory mic out of the way and taped the Pioneer mic in the factory location (between the map lights). I routed the cord across the headliner to the A pillar, down the A pillar and into the side of the dash. It was a fairly easy route. I used the CRUX steering wheel control adapter recommended by Crutchfield. Steering wheel controls work great. Only loss of factory features were the USB port and Aux-in in the center console. The Pioneer unit has both on the front of the stereo though, which would be more convenient anyway. Overall, no loss of factory functionality (just change of location for USB and Aux), but a huge gain in sound quality, controls, and pre-outs ready for future amp install.
Pros: Front face USB/Aux input. Easy control of settings through app. More sound quality control. Easier switching between bluetooth connected devices.
Cons: Lost use of factory microphone and USB/Aux input.

Crutchfield Rocks! 5 Stars

I was looking for a replacement for my 2016 F250 radio. Crutchfield has a great inventory and a neat way to sort out what will work in my truck. I found the Pioneer FH-S722BS - ordered it - 2 days later was installing it. Couple questions came up and a tech {Jessie} answers on first ring and walks me through my problem. I ordered the install kit and payed a little extra to have them wire the plugs together saving me hours of install. The Pioneer more than met my needs and works perfectly - after programing it all I need to do is get in the truck and android phone syncs with radio automatically sounding great.
Pros: Nice Fit Great Sound Bluetooth up to date

This was installed in my wife's 2006 Toyota Highlander. She is not one to replace what come with the vehicle. The factory radio had been hard to control the volume for quite some time. Finally I convinced her to get a new one. She wasn't sure about the Bluetooth and hook up for I-pod but now she can't stop talking about how wonderful it is. She's even telling family and co-workers they should make the change. My son-in-law helped me install it as he did that job for Circuit City for a couple of years. He was very impressed with it and was surprised at how low the price was. This is my second Pioneer car stereo and I'm certainly going to stick with them.
Pros: Easy to understand and use. If my wife can use more options than just the volume knob and to change cds, it's very user friendly.

Econoline Van upgrade. ..2006
Crutchfield customer from Punta Gorda, FL on 6/8/2020
2006 Ford Econoline
This radio/CD player works great in our Ford Econoline Van. It fits the double din space really well with a little trimming of the edges. The mounting brackets and wire harness that was supplied with it was correct. We have lots of CD's so we wanted that feature. All of the reviews said that the display was not bright enough... for daytime use. The display is not bright enough for daytime use. I've not used it at night yet but we'll live with it for now. We never change the station anyway. It sounds good with the 4 original speakers. The Bluetooth works good for the cell phone calls.
Pros: Installation instructions were perfect. Good value for the price. Looks better than original CD radio. Fast shipping and handling.
Cons: The LED display is not bright enough in the daytime. And I set it as bright as it will go.

decided to buy from Crutchfield because the expertise ,help and professionalism .having the wiring to just plug and play was also a big factor. the salesperson i talked to Willy was very helpful telling me what I needed to make it a easy installation.I have put in radios before but this was the easiest . the custom instructions for my car helped so much as i am 66 years old not up so much on newer cars .Will buy from Crutchfield in the future and will tell friends and family how easy this installation went..thank you for being so customer friendly, professional ,competent.company
Pros: all of the above
Cons: radio a little hard to work the controls. my wife and i are used to mainly dials ,we keep the instructions in the car for help while we try to remember all of he controls .I knew this would probably be a problem so i bought a radio with a dial .we only use the cd and radio ,the display is hard to see in daytime so boosted brightness but still hard to see. might be the angle ?

This is a fantastic receiver and am very pleased with it. Simple to install (with a little help from Crutchfield tech service!) and it looks great and preforms well. I like the SmartSync app and it connects automatically every time. Phone calls are a breeze. Would highly recommend this to anyone for an ideal combination of features, looks, and price.
Pros: Bluetooth; easy installation (many videos available on YouTube); seamless integration with SmartSync; looks great when installed
Cons: None so far. You do have to put in some time to set up SmartSync like you want, but there are videos on YouTube that show you how to do that.

2003 Subaru Outback
Great sound, even with stock speakers! This radio is a huge upgrade to what was a top-of-the-line audio system 17 years ago in my 2003 Subaru. Bluetooth and USB connection to multiple phones, a quality microphone for hands-free phone calls, and a fairly stock-looking face are some of my favorite features. I installed this myself with no previous experience, thanks to the pre-wired harness Crutchfield provided. That harness is worth every penny! Most of the installation time was spent disassembling and reassembling the dash and shifter console because a couple of the trim screws were REALLY hard to reach and remove. I'm pleased with the results.
Pros: Features Price Crutchfield
Cons: None yet

2006 Ford Mustang
I bought this a few months ago to put in my 2006 Mustang GT. I have yet to get the sound dialed in to where I'm satisfied with it. It could be me though. The built in equalizer has so many different frequencies that you can adjust, that I have had a hard time getting it where I want it, but again that could just be operator error. Other than that the unit looks good, and everything has worked well so far. Installation was a breeze in my car, and even more so with the wiring harnesses. The Bluetooth is easy to set up, the radio picks up a strong signal, and I live in the boonies. The buttons and disks feel very solid and operate smoothly. I have always been partial to Pioneer products, and this unit has done nothing to change that.
Pros: Looks good, and materials seem to be of good quality.
Cons: I've personally had an issue getting the equalizer settings dialed in to where I'm happy with the sound, but admittedly that could be my fault.

I purchased this to replace a multi disc player that died. I was looking for reasonable quality in a single play unit. Sounds great and installation was easy. I found the menu difficult to navigate. Seems overly "techy" oriented. Still haven't been able to adjust the screen brightness. Many pages of instruction concerning use of apps with a huge app button taking up space on the face. Probably won't be attempting any use of apps. Over all a decent stereo for the money.

2005 Ford Mustang
Love this unit. My 2005 mustang had a factory shaker 500 in it but it lacked any modern features. This new pioneer allows bluetooth connection and has an aux input for easy connection of a seperate music player. Love how the colors on the face change as you drive along listining to my fave groups. when I connect sxm via bluetooth the display shows the name of song and who is playing it. also has a clock on the face. And i like the large knobs for volume control and other settings. Only thing i would do different is have Crutchfield put the harness toghther for me . It would be worth the extra charge as i had trouble finding the correct size crimps i needed. Once i had the harness together it was a snap to install AND LOOOOOOKS SUPER COOL IN MY CAR !!!!! ROCK ON !!!!!
Pros: everything i needed was supplied by Crutchfield.....fits and looks super cool.........sounds wonderful......has bluetooth and aux input.....you could add sxm to it but i like using my phone as ITS FREE !!!!!!
Cons: Wish Crutchfield would supply crimps with the setup .

sounds great and has great options for a great price. pretty easy to navigate but the buttons feel cheap and there is seemingly no sense in the layout of the buttons, the bass boost doesn't really need its own button. display is clear and easy to see but feels cluttered. Really could use a remote because depending on your seating arrangement and you dashboard layout the buttons can be out of arms reach. install and setup was simple and if you know what sound you are looking for its pretty quick to get it dialed in, if you are hunting for the right sound it can be a time consuming process given the number of menus / sub menus that have to be accessed to get to the setting you want. overall for the price its a great sounding unit with tons of features that lie buried in a somewhat confusing UI.
Pros: tons of features for less than $200 sound is great using factory setup not too flashy
Cons: button layout is nonsensical multiple sub-menus needed to access specific features UI looks cluttered at times
