Direct Energy Concept Amplifier: "Direct Energy Concept" is based on Pioneer's advanced multi-channel stereophonic philosophy, in which they design and build amplifiers that yield the highest possible efficiency with equal drive towards each channel via the shortest possible signal paths. Pioneer's Direct Energy Design concept delivers a lossless transfer of energy from the amplifier to the speakers for a high signal-to-noise ratio that creates an overwhelming soundfield rich with reality.

Amplifier Assignment: The AV receiver's 9-channel amplifier can be configured in a variety of ways to match your type of speaker setup.

  • For Dolby Atmos & DTS:X Applications:
    • 7.1.2Ch: Assigns all nine amplifiers of the receiver to the Main Zone for a 7.1.2ch configure which consists of Front, Center, Surround, Surround Back, and Dolby Atmos speakers. Zone 2 and Zone 3 speakers must be powered by separate amplifiers.
    • 5.1.4Ch: The nine amplifier channels of the receiver are assigned to power a 5.1.4ch speaker system in the Main Zone. The 5.1.2ch speaker system will consist of Front, Center, Surround, & two sets of Dolby Atmos speakers. In this mode, Zone 2 and Zone 3 must be powered by a separate amplifier.
    • 5.1.2ch + Zone 2 or Zone 3: The nine amplifier channels of the receiver are assigned to power a 5.1.2ch speaker system in the Main Zone and stereo speakers in either Zone 2 or Zone 3 (not both). The 5.1.2ch speaker system will consist of Front, Center, Surround, & Dolby Atmos speakers (Surround Back speaker are not available in this mode).
    • 5.1.2ch Bi-Amp: Assigns all nine amplifiers of the receiver to the Main Zone with the front speakers bi-amped. The 5.1.2ch speaker system will consist of Front, Center, Surround, & Dolby Atmos speakers (Surround Back speakers not available in this mode). In this mode, Zone 2 and Zone 3 must be powered by a separate amplifier.
  • For Dolby Digital & DTS Applications:
    • 7.1Ch + Zone 2 or Zone 3: The nine amplifier channels of the receiver are assigned to power a 7ch speaker system in the Main Zone and stereo speakers in either Zone 2 or Zone 3 (not both). The 7ch speaker system will consist of Front, Center, Surround, and Surround Back.
    • 7.1Ch Bi-Amp: Assigns all nine amplifiers of the receiver to the Main Zone with the front speakers bi-amped. The 7ch speaker system will consist of Front, Center, Surround, and Surround Back. In this mode, Zone 2 and Zone 3 must be powered by a separate amplifier.
    • 5.1Ch + Zone 2/3: Assigns five amplifier channels to the main zone for 5ch playback and four amplifiers to Zone 2 and Zone 3 for stereo playback in each zone. The 5ch speaker system will consist of Front, Center, and Surround. The receiver's Surround Back and Height amplifier channels are reassigned to power both Zone 2 and Zone 3.
    • 5.1Ch Bi-Amp + Zone 2: Assigns seven amplifiers of the receiver to the Main Zone with the front speakers bi-amped and two amplifier channels assigned to Zone 2 to power a pair of speakers in another room. The 5ch speaker system will consist of Front, Center, and Surround (Surround Back speaker channels are not available in this mode). This amplifier configuration is not compatible with Dolby Atmos or DTS:X.

Auto Room Correction & Speaker Calibration: The Pioneer VSX-LX305 offers auto room correction & speaker calibration using Advanced MCACC or DIRAC Live (cannot use both). Both measurement methods use the supplied speaker setup microphone (keep the listening room as quiet as possible during measurement). Each speaker connected to the AV receiver will output a test tone at a high volume during measurement. If you have a powered sub connected, make sure it turned on and the volume set to more than half. Calibration takes about 20 minutes to be completed.

  • Advanced MCACC: Advanced MCACC (Multichannel Acoustic Calibration System) adjusts the sound according to the listening room and speakers, plus creates clearer sound by suppressing the standing waves that occur between walls or ceiling and floor. Advanced MCACC also incorporates Auto Phase Control Plus which makes real-time analysis of the phase difference, and automatically compensates the gap between the LFE and main signals, providing strong bass and clear high-frequency sound. Up to nine Advanced MCACC room positions can be saved for the a wide listening area.
  • DIRAC Live: DIRAC Live is a state-of-the-art digital room correcting technology that improves overall audio performance for enhanced musical staging, clarity, dialog, and deeper bass. Dirac Live Room Correction automatically calibrates sound in your room using the free Pioneer Remote App (for Apple iOS 12.0+ and Android OS 5.0+), plus the included microphone; or the Dirac Live PC / Mac application and a 3rd party USB mic (not included).” and a 3rd party USB mic (not included). It analyzes your audio system and listening environment by examining acoustic data measured by the microphone and detecting deficiencies. It corrects both the timing and amplitude aspects of sound colorations using a mixed-phase correction filter throughout the listening area, not just a particular zone. Dirac Live will unlock your loudspeaker system's full potential in any listening space and delivers a uniquely pristine listening experience.

Notes: You can choose to bypass DIRAC Live and Advanced MCACC so you can manually set the distance, crossover, EQ, and level of each speaker.

24-Bit/192kHz DAC: The Pionner VSX-LX305 employs a 24-bit/192kHz DAC (digital-to-analog converter) for reproduction of clear, detail, and accurate sound from some of today's mos popular Hi-Res music formats - including FLAC, DSD, WAV, AIFF, and ALAC.

32-Bit DSP: The Pioneer VSX-LX305 incorporates a Digital Quad-Core 32-bit DSP (Cirrus Logic) + Aureus floating-point DSP (TI) for fast processing and exceptional sound with support of the latest surround sound formats, including Dolby Atmos and DTS:X.

Digital Audio Connector Audio Signal Type Audio Signal Format
HDMI (7 Inputs/2 Outputs) Bitstream Dolby Atmos, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital
DTS:X, DTS-HD Master Audio, DTS-HD High Resolution, DTS Express, DTS-ES, DTS 96/24
 PCM 2ch to 8ch (32-192kHz, 16/20/24-bit)
DSD 2ch (2.8/5.6MHz, 1-bit)
Optical (1 Input)/Coaxial (1 Input) Bitstream Dolby Digital, DTS, DTS ES, DTS 96/24
PCM 2ch to 6ch, (32-96kHz, 16/20/24-bit)

Immersive 3D Surround Sound: The Pioneer VSX-LX305 AV receiver goes beyond regular surround with the latest immersive 3D surround sound formats, including Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. The Pioneer AV receiver also supports Dolby Surround & DTS Neural:X to enhance 2-channel and multichannel decoding formats. In addition, it supports Dolby Atmos Height Virtualization for multi-dimensional sound from a standard 5.1 or 7.1ch setup.

  • Dolby Atmos: Dolby Atmos surround sound technology dispenses with channel-based coding in favor of more advanced object-based coding, giving the soundtrack designer the ability to precisely place sounds anywhere in the 3-dimensional space. The Pionner receiver has the processing power to run a more enveloping 7ch or 9ch Dolby Atmos layout using a 5.1.2, 5.1.4, or 7.1.2 configuration with ceiling mounted, or Dolby Atmos-enabled speakers (sold separately).
  • Dolby Surround: Dolby Surround offers an enhanced cinema experience to your 2ch or multichannel movie soundtracks using your existing 5.1ch, 7.1ch, or Dolby Atmos speaker setup. Dolby Surround enhances audio definition by improving the spatial dimension and overall audio definition of movie soundtracks. It does this by using four distinct surround zones that provide greater control over the exact placement of each detail in a movie sound track, so audio can be matched more accurately to the video on screen; this means more depth and greater realism for your movies. As a result, individual sounds are clearer and more distinct. It also improves the surround sound experience across the entire theater by widening the listening "sweet spot".
  • Dolby Atmos Height Virtualization: Dolby Atmos Height Virtualization provides immersive audio without height-channel or overhead speakers, creating virtual height effects in a 5.1ch, 7.1ch or 2.1ch speaker arrangement. Dolby Atmos Height Virtualization applies carefully designed "height-cue" filters to the overhead audio components of your content's soundtrack before they are mixed into your loudspeakers to create the sensation of sound above you.
  • DTS:X: The latest immersive surround sound system, DTS:X features object-based audio coding that lets the soundtrack designer place sonic elements anywhere in the 3D acoustic soundspace, and provides for overhead speakers to deliver a stunning surround sound experience. Along with DTS:X decoding, the Pioneer receiver features DTS-HD Master Audio decoding and other DTS audio technologies.
  • DTS Neural:X: DTS Neural:X is an advanced spatial remapping technology from DTS, which provides a fully immersive output for all types of source content; this includes DTS bitstreams and non-encoded (PCM) data. DTS Neural:X delivers a thrilling sense of immersive sound to your speaker layout regardless of the original source format.

IMAX Enhanced Technology: Get the most premium at-home entertainment experience with IMAX Enhanced; the latest technology program from IMAX that sets a new standard for image, sound, scale and content quality. This new certification and licensing program combines IMAX digitally re-mastered 4K HDR content and DTS audio technologies to offer a new level of quality in immersive sight and sound experiences in the home. IMAX Enhanced lets you experience premium content digitally remastered by IMAX, so you can watch the highest-quality 4K movies with immersive audio delivered by DTS. Not only will IMAX Enhanced content look and sound amazing, but other audio/video content will also look and sound great too.

  • Remastered 4K/HDR Video: It utilizes a sophisticated, advanced algorithm designed to produce the highest-quality, sharpest 4K HDR images. This advanced process accurately reduces noise and grain under the filmmaker's guidance to best optimize the content for a much higher quality, higher brightness 4K HDR display format. Select IMAX Enhanced titles that were shot with IMAX cameras or specially formatted for IMAX theatres will also include an expanded aspect ratio for the film's home release to show your more picture on your TV. IMAX Enhanced certified TVs must be at least 65" with support for HDR10 and dynamic, as well as specific calibration, resolution, color, brightness, contrast, and scale of image capabilities.
  • Remastered DTS:X Audio: IMAX and DTS will also partner with award-winning Hollywood sound mixers to use a special variant of its DTS:X codec technology integrated in home audio equipment to deliver an IMAX signature sound experience that is dynamic, immersive, theatrical, and powerful. IMAX Enhanced supports both 5.1 and 11.1 formats, but the recommended speaker layout for an IMAX Enhanced system is 7.2.4 with seven horizontal speakers, two subwoofers and four height speakers; 5.1.4 is the minimum layout for IMAX Enhanced. However, due to various constraints you may opt to install only a 5.1ch speaker system. In such cases, DTS Virtual:X is required to properly render and remap audio to the available speakers.
  • Available IMAX Content: IMAX is working with its global studio and other content partners to build a steady stream of IMAX Enhanced versions of movies and other programming using the newest, proprietary post-production process developed by IMAX. IMAX will be announcing and releasing IMAX Enhanced versions of a wide range of films both for 4K/HDR streaming and Ultra HD Blu-ray Discs.
Notes:
  • To take full advantage of IMAX Enhanced, you need an IMAX Enhanced certified 4K/HDR TV (65"-up) or Projector and an IMAX Enhanced certified DTS:X enabled AV receiver or soundbar.
  • IMAX and DTS developed the IMAX Enhanced program out of their decades of combined expertise in image and sound science to make it easier for consumers to select the products and content that will deliver the highest-quality, sharpest 4K HDR images and powerful, immersive sound at home.
  • To qualify and carry the IMAX Enhanced logo, the highest-end TVs, AV receivers, projectors, and soundbars must meet stringent performance standards established by IMAX, DTS and Hollywood's leading colorists in order to create a consistent and higher bar for image and sound performance on premium devices.

Other Listening Modes: In addition to Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, Dolby Digital, and DTS surround modes the Pioneer VSX-LX305 offers a variety of Advanced Surround Modes and a Direct Mode for your listening pleasure.

  • Advanced Surround Modes: Advanced Surround Modes include Classical, Unplugged, Entertainment Show, Drama, Advanced Game, Action, Rock/Pop, Sports, Extended Stereo, Extended Mono, Front Stage Surround Advance. The Extended Stereo mode plays stereo sound through all speakers (including surrounds and center). The Front Stage Surround Advance mode lets you enjoy virtual multichannel surround from only two ro three front speakers.
  • Direct Modes: The Direct listening mode can be selected for all input signals. In this mode, processing that affects sound quality is shut down, and sound closer to the original is reproduced. The sound is reproduced with the soundfield based on the number of channels in the input signal. For example, a 2ch signal is output only from the front speakers. Note that other sound adjustments are not available when this mode is selected.

Audio Enhancements: The Pioneer VSX-LX305 AV receiver provides various audio enhancements to deliver a high-quality listening experience every time.

  • Sound Retriever: The Sound Retreiver function enhances the sound quality of compressed music files. It only works with PCM digital audio input signals with a sampling rate below 48kHz, analog input signals, and Bluetooth audio.
  • Midnight Mode: The Midnight mode limits the dynamic range of Dolby Digital and DTS recordings. Limiting the dynamic range makes it easier to find a volume that ensures the quiet sounds are not too quiet and the loud sounds are not too loud for night time listening. This allows you to comfortably listen to without the need to constantly adjust the volume to keep from waking family/neighbors.
  • Stereo Assign Mode: Stereo Assign Mode switches playback from your Front speakers to either the Surround, Surround Back, or Height speakers. This mode is deal for ambient listening, such as background music, or any time you want to create a relaxing atmosphere.
  • Surround Parameters: Loudness Management: When playing Dolby TrueHD, you can enable the Dialog Normalization function which keeps the volume of dialog at a certain level. There is also a Center Spread function that adjust the width of the sound field of the front channel when playing in Dolby Audio surround listening mode. Dialog Control (for DTS:X) increases the volume of dialog portion of the audio up to 6dB, so that you can hear the dialog easily in noisy atmosphere.

Volume & Level Setup: The Pioneer AV receiver provides the following volume & level settings. The Main Zone, Zone 2, and Zone 3 settings can be configured independently.

  • Power On Volume: Use this feature to set the volume level when the power is turned on. You can choose between "Last" (same as the volume when the unit was turned off) or between -81.5dB and +18.0dB.
  • Volume Limit: Set the maximum volume level to prevent the volume becoming too loud; it can be set between -32dB to +17dB, or turned "Off".
  • Input Level: You can manually adjust the volume level when there are differences in volume level among multiple devices connected to the Pioneer receiver. You can set individual inputs to -12dB to +12dB.
  • Mute Level: Set the volume lowered from the listening volume when "Mute" is selected. Choose from 0, -40dB, or -20 dB.
  • Headphone Level: With this setting, you can specify the headphone volume (-12 to +12dB) relative to the main volume. This is useful if there's a volume difference between your speakers and your headphones.

eARC (Enhanced Audio Return Channel): This feature of the AV receiver's main HDMI monitor output allows audio to be sent from your compatible TV to the receiver through the same HDMI cable already being used to send audio and video to your TV. This eliminates the need for extra cables connected to your television. eARC (Enhanced Audio Return Channel) will support uncomprerssed audio formats like Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, & DTS HD Master Audio - where as the previous ARC (Audio Return Channel) was limited to only Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, DTS, DTS HD, and PCM.

  • Only the receiver's main HDMI monitor output supports eARC/ARC. The sub HDMI monitor output does not support eARC/ARC.
  • Supported content will be dependent on whether your TV features a HDMI eARC or ARC jack.

Analog Audio Outputs: The Pioneer VSX-LX305 is outfitted with a variety of analog audio outputs - including binding post speaker outputs, dual sub outputs, and a 1/4" headphone output jack.

  • Binding-Post Speaker Terminals: There are binding-post terminals for all speaker connections - Front, Center, Surround, Surround Back/Zone 3/Height 2, Height 1/Bi-Amp, and Zone 2. The binding post terminals will accept bare-wire (up to 10AWG), pin-connectors, and banana plugs (single only). Use 4- to 16-ohm speakers (there is an impedance setting in the receiver's menu).
  • Dual Subwoofer Outputs: The AV receiver offers two subwoofer outputs to connect dual powered subs for extra bass. The dual outputs are wired in parallel and share the same input signal (they are not discrete).
  • Headphones: When headphones are plugged into the full-size 1/4" jack on the front panel, all the speakers are automatically muted. The receiver supports headphones with impedances of 8 to 600-ohm.

Phono Input: The Pioneer VSX-LX305 has a discrete low-noise phono pre-amp and is outfitted with Phono (MM) input for connection of a turntable with a moving magnet cartridge so you can enjoy listening to your vinyl records. There is also a ground screw terminal to reduce hum.

Front-Panel Aux: The VSX-LX305 is outfitted with a front-panel stereo minijack (3.5mm) input for a simple and temporary connection of an external audio device.

AM/FM Tuner: With the built-in tuner you can enjoy AM and FM radio stations. You can store your favorite stations as presets for quick selection. You can store a combination of up to 40 of your favorite FM/AM radio stations as presets.

Video Section

HDMI 2.1: Featuring six rear-panel HDMI inputs and two HDMI outputs, the Pioneer VSX-LX305 incorporates an advanced video section that features some of the latest HDMI 2.1 specifications; including support for 4K/120 and 8K/60Hz video pass-through (up to 40Gbps), HDCP 2.3 compatibility, BT.2020 Wide Color Gamut, and 4:4:4 Pure Color sub-sampling. There is also a front-panel HDMI input that is HDMI 2.0 certified and supports up to 4K/60Hz.

  • 4K/120 Hz + 8K/60Hz Pass-Through: All of the Pioneer receiver's rear-panel HDMI inputs and monitor outputs support up to 4K (3840x2160 pixels) video @ 120 frames per second, as well as 8K (7680 x 4320) video @ 60 frames per second. The HDMI 1-2-3 inputs and both outputs support up to 40Gbps bandwidth, while the HDMI 4-5-6 inputs support up to 24Gbps bandwidth. The front-panel HDMI input only supports up to 4K/60Hz (9Gbps). The receiver will also pass 1080p/i, 720p, and 480p/ video signals over HDMI.
  • HDCP 2.3 Compliant: All of the AV receiver's rear-panel HDMI inputs and outputs support HDCP 2.3, which fully complies with the latest copyright protection standard for 4K/HDR video transmission. The front-panel HDMI input is HDCP 2.2 compliant.
  • 4:4:4 Color Subsampling: The rear-panel HDMI inputs and monitor outputs support RGB, YCbCr 4:4:4, YCbCr 4:2:2, and YCbCr 4:2:0 color subsampling (pixel depth and frame rate will vary). With 4:4:4 color subsampling, luminance (brightness) and chroma (color) are sampled at the same rate; resulting in an RGB color palette as big as the video sampling rate for a video image with more colors, plus greater color accuracy and detail. The front-panel HDMI input is limited to 4:2:0.
  • Wide Color Gamut (BT.2020): The BT.2020 color standard delivers a much wider color gamut and represents about 75% of the total visual color spectrum, while the current Rec. 709 color standard selected as the color space for HDTVs and early generation 4K Ultra HDTVs covers only 35% of the total visual color spectrum.

Note: Use at least a premium High Speed 18Gbps HDMI cable for 4K/60Hz video. Use an Ultra High Speed 48Gbps HDMI cable for 4K/120Hz or 8K/60 video. Appropriate menu settings are required when 4K or 8K video is to be played back.

HDMI Video Upscaling (up to 4K/8K): The Pioneer AV receiver's video processor provides upscaling of 1080p HDMI video sources to 4K (3840x2160 pixels) when connected to a 4K compatible TV; as well as upscaling of 4K HDMI video sources to 8K/60Hz (7680 x 4320 pixels) when the receiver is connected to an 8K TV. HDMI Video upscaling is only supported by the AV receiver's main HDMI output (not the sub HDMI Zone 2 output).

Dual HDMI Outputs: The dual HDMI outputs can simultaneously output the same audio/video signal to two TVs, or you can assign the second HDMI output to Zone 2 to display a different HDMI source (1-2-3 inputs) in another room; video is output at the resolution supported by both TVs. When displaying the same video source from both HDMI outputs, the main HDMI output and second HDMI output both can support up to 8K/60Hz (40Gbps). If displaying a different video source from the main HDMI output and Zone 2 HDMI out, then the main HDMI output can support up to 8K/60Hz (40Gbps), while the Zone HDMI output is limited to 4K/60Hz (24Gbps).

HDR (High Dynamic Range): HDR (High Dynamic Range) video provides enhanced picture quality by simultaneously enabling greater detail for both the dark and bright parts of an image. HDR reproduces a greater dynamic range of luminosity or brightness levels, creating greater contrast. This increased contrast reveals the subtle nuances of the image, from detailed blacks and shadows to the brightest whites and colors, plus greater depth. This receiver supports two HDR formats - HDR10, HDR10+ Hybrid Log-Gamma (HLG), & Dolby Vision.

  • HDR10: HDR10 is an open standard and currently the most popular HDR format on the market. It uses static metadata at the start of a movie to tell the receiver and your TV that the video content is encoded using HDR.
  • HDR10+: HDR10+ is a new open standard that leverages dynamic metadata to produce enhanced contrast and colors on an expanded range of televisions. HDR10+ incorporates dynamic metadata that allows the adjustment of brightness levels on a scene-by-scene or even frame-by-frame basis. By applying individualized tone mapping to each scene, HDR10+ delivers an incredible viewing experience. The picture quality offers an enhanced visual experience with more detailed expressions, brighter shadow areas and more accurate color renderings that stay true to the creator's original intent.
  • Hybrid-Log Gamma: HLG (Hybrid-Log Gamma) is primarily designed for live video feed and over-the-air broadcasts. It uses no pre-encoded metadata and is backwards compatible with SDR. HLG's native compatibility allows much of today's existing SDR infrastructure to be re-used for HDR in the future.
  • Dolby Vision: Unlike HDR 10 which contains static metadata and HLG which uses no metadata, Dolby Vision uses dynamic metadata technology which sets individual color and brightness levels for each and every scene. Dolby works directly with filmmakers at major Hollywood studios to create superior HDR video masters of blockbuster movies.

Enhanced Gaming: 4K/120Hz HDR pass-through enables ultra-fast motion UHD images to be crisp and razor-sharp; and sports, action movies, and high-performance gaming benefit significantly. Other HDMI 2.1 enhancements for gamers include ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode) to optimize latency from source to screen; VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) which eliminates lag, stutter, and frame-tearing for fluid gameplay; QMS (Quick Media Switching) which eliminates blackout periods; plus QFT (Quick Frame Transport) which limits lag for a smoother video gaming experience.

  • Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM): The receiver will enter ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode) when it detects a gaming signal from a compatible device (such as a Xbox One) and allows for a smooth, lag-free gaming experience.
  • Variable Refresh Rate (VRR): Support for Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) allows the TV to adapt to certain Game console's frame rate. This helps to reduce or eliminate lag, stutter and frame tearing for more fluid and better detailed gameplay.
  • Quick Media Switching (QMS): Quick Media Switching (QMS) eliminates the delay that can result in blank screens before content is displayed. QMS eliminate the blackout period when all devices in the HDMI connection chain change video modes. As long as the resolution remains the same and only the frame rate changes, QMS will smoothly switch between frame rates.
  • Quick Frame Transport (QFT): Quick Frame Transport (QFT) transmits each frame at a higher rate to decrease "display latency", which is the amount of time between a frame being ready for transmission in the GPU and that frame being completely displayed. Enjoy reduced latency for smoother, tear-free entertainment experience.

HDMI Through: When enabling the HDMI Through function, regardless of whether the AV receiver is "On" or in "Standby", both audio/video streams from an HDMI input will be output to your television via the receiver HDMI monitor output. You can select between three HDMI Through modes.

  • Auto: Detects the signal and automatically selects the input sources.
  • Source: Selects the HDMI input source for which the HDMI Through function in enabled.
  • Last: The HDMI Through function is activated on the input source selected at the time of setting the AV receiver to the "standby" mode.

Other HDMI Features: The VSX-LX305 AV receiver's HDMI connectivity also offers 3D video pass-through, Deep Color & x.v. Color support, as well as an auto LipSync function.

  • Deep Color & x.v.Color Support: The AV receiver supports Deep Color and x.v.Color content, which can display a larger color range than standard-definition schemes. The result is a more lifelike, vibrant picture
  • 3D-Ready: All HDMI jacks will accept 3D video from your 3D-ready Blu-ray player and output the video signal in 3D to your 3D-ready flat-panel television.
  • AV Sync: The AV Sync feature can automatically synchronize HDMI audio and video (for any HDMI jack) that has gotten out of sync due to the complex digital video processing being performed by your HDMI-compatible TV. With AV Sync, the audio delay required to synchronize the audio and video is calculated and applied automatically by the AV receiver. You can also manually correct the audio delay using AV Sync.

Q
Hi - I am replacing an old Pioneer model VSX-74TXVi - will this work?

A
Technically, this receiver could be used as a replacement for the VSX-74TXVi. However, it appears that the VSX-74TXVi is rather hefty and powerful. It may be necessary to select receiver with similar power capabilities in order to achieve an equivalent sound. Please reach out to our advisors via online chat or phone at 1-800-324-9695.

Q
What floorstanding speaker and subwoofer may be used from klipsch with this receiver(100 watts per channel with 2 channels driven)? Im worried about the watts. For example does RP-5000F (100w) works? or it has to be one with lower watts? And with the subwoofer same question...RS-100SW (it says 150w RMS) is it too much for this reciever? so the only option would be the R-8SW (50w RMS)?? All this would be for a 5.1.4, small room. Thanks for your help

I have the Klipsch RP-8000F (2.1 setup with a Klipsch sub) and this receiver does a great job driving them. Use the Bi-amp feature with your speakers and use the Double bass to split the bass signal between your sub and the speakers for best results, at least that was my experience with the RP-8000F's

The LX-305 is rated at 100 watts per channel with 2 channels driven, which is perfect for the 100 watt-rated RP5000F. The Klipsch towers are known for their sensitivity (95db) and are easily driven by this AVR. If you want to have power to spare, it is very simple to bi-amp the speakers with this receiver. Remove any jumper connecting the two sets of terminals on back of the speakers, run a second set of speaker wires from the extra terminals on each speaker to the "Height 1" speaker terminals on the receiver, and set the speakers to "Bi-Amped: YES" in Setup. It's not absolutely necessary to bi-amp as the LX-305 has enough power to drive the towers, but it may improve sound quality a bit.

Internet radio in this case refers to specific streaming services such as Pandora, TuneIn, etc. This receiver does not allow specific web addresses to be input for listening.
