Features

Woofer Cone: Pioneer uses a glass fiber and mica reinforced injection molded polypropylene (IMPP) cone, making it more rigid than polypropylene alone.

Shallow Mount Woofer: Pioneer's Shallow-Mount subwoofers are designed to provide wider installation options for a broad range of vehicles. They can be mounted in select factory subwoofer locations, as well as behind or under the seats of many vehicles.

Dual 2Ω Voice Coils: This woofer features two 2Ω voice coils that offer wiring flexibility. When the voice coils are wired in parallel, the woofer presents a 1Ω load. When the voice coils are wired in series, the woofer presents a 4Ω load.

Terminals: The spring post terminals will accept pin connectors, single banana plugs, or bare wire up to 10 gauge.

Sealed Box Volume: Pioneer recommends a sealed enclosure with an internal volume between 0.15 ft³ and 0.5 ft³, with an ideal volume of 0.5 ft³. Sealed enclosures provide the most control over the woofer, will handle a lot of power, and provide accurate sonic reproduction, making them suitable to all types of music.

Ported Box Volume: The recommended ported box volume ranges from 0.25 ft³ to 0.5 ft³, with the ideal size being 0.5 ft³, using a single 3" diameter x 8" long port. Ported (or vented) enclosures typically provide better overall efficiency than sealed, maximizing bass output for a given amplifier.

Measurements: When mounting the woofer with the trim ring, the dimensions change as follows:

  • Mounting Height: 0.54"
  • Flange Height: 0.54"
  • Frame Diameter: 8.9"

Q
Would it fit in 2014 honda accord coupe?
delonte  Apr 12, 2025
1 answer
A
Hey Delonte, thanks for the question. This sub will not fit in that location, nor will any aftermarket sub without some work. While the factory speaker has a 8.573" physical size, it tapers steeply toward the magnet. The cutout diameter of 5.942" will limit aftermarket subwoofer installation. The rear deck steel can be cut to obtain a 7.165" cutout diameter. Cut off plastic ring from back of grille to obtain a 1.243" height. A bracket must be fabricated in order to install any aftermarket subwoofer in this location.

Q
I would like to use this to replace the factory sub on my 2023 honda ridgeline BE. Do I need to add an amplifier or the stock amp would be fine for the sub to work properly?
amory  Feb 12, 2025
1 answer
A
Greetings Amory. That is an excellent question. The factory amplifier is not sending much power to the factory subwoofer, so yes you would need to add an amplifier to run most all aftermarket subwoofers.

Will this fit factory sub spot in 2014 Hyundai gensis coupe?

This subwoofer does fit back into the factory subwoofer box in your Hyundai and it can even work with the factory amp.

Q
Will this fit in the rear deck plate of my 2014 Hyundai Sonata GLS?
thomas a  Jan 07, 2025
1 answer
A
The Pioneer TS-A2000LD2 is not a fit in your 2014 Hyundai Sonata's factory subwoofer location Tom, the magnet diameter is too large.

Q
I have the premium jbl audio system and I want to replace my jbl sub. I bought the pioneer ts-a 2000ld2 shallow mount. How would I go about wiring it to the factory amp? Or what would be a better solution? I'm new to trying to figure out how everything works.

A
This will depend largely on your vehicle. For details on installation please contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and give you the details on what you will need for an installation.

Q
This Subwoofer can play from 20-1400 Htz. The amplifier I was looking at getting says that it is from 10-160 htz. Should I be looking for a subwoofer or amplifier with a more similar Htx range?
mccall  Jul 24, 2024
1 answer
A
Greetings McCall. Thank you for your question. Most all mono subwoofer amplifiers will cut frequencies off at 300hz or even lower. Subwoofer amplifiers are made for just sub-sonic frequencies. At 250hz you start getting low midrange. Midrange can go up as high as 2400hz. If you are wanting more of that lower mid range, you might think of bridging a 2 channel amp.

Q
Has anyone used this to replace the subwoofer in a 2012 Range Rover Sport? If so, did you replace the amp as well?
donald  May 18, 2024
1 answer
A
I've found out whenever you replace the speakers you always usually have to replace the Amp because the speakers pushes usely are more powerful and makes Amp cut off in and out Especially with pioneers

Q
Can these be used in a downfiring application?
carl c.  May 02, 2024
1 answer
A
Hey Carl, yes these can certainly be used in a downfire application. You just want to ensure that the air space in the box chosen will be right for this sub. Really any sub can be used in a downfire application, it just comes down to ensuring it will play nice with the box chosen for this.

Q
I own a 2008 Legacy Limited and there is a spot on the underside of the rear deck with a stamp, not a cutout, that looks like it would take an 8â?? sub, now would a free air like this work for that, or should I just cut the hole and bit a screen for a different one?
jaybizzle  Apr 13, 2024
1 answer
A
Hey Jason, thanks for the question. While we do not really cover any form of custom mounting or anything like that, I also don't have any information on that deck location either so if you can get this mounted in place, it would be one of the better 8" sub options to mount into the deck with its Free Air technology.

Q
I know this is not on the list of recommended sub replacements for a 2007 Mitsubishi eclipse spider but will it work? The measurements seem to suggest it will fit and it is a dual two ohm. Which is what is recommended. Thank you!
aaron  Mar 06, 2024
1 answer
A
According to our information the magnet diameter is too large for a fit on the Pioneer TS-A2000LD2 in your 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder, Aaron. It's a big difference, with the available space for the magnet at 4.475" and the Pioneer TS-A2000LD@ requiring 6.250". I would suggest using the dual 2-ohm voice coil Audiofrog GS8ND2 8" subwoofer below, we show this is a physical fit and would require re-drilling the mounting screw holes for install. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_898GS8ND2/Audiofrog-GS8ND2.html

Q
What are the watts when this subwoofer is wired to 4 ohms?
chase  Feb 23, 2024
1 answer
A
Hey Chase, thanks for the question. So this sub is rated to handle 250w RMS of power across the board. If its wired down to 1-ohm or up to 4-ohm, the power handling will still be 250w.

Q
I would like to replace my JBL 8" sub in my tacoma crew cab 2006 standard premium audio location. The amp is rated at 2ohm. The orignal sub measrues 3.5" or so. Would this fit in OEM sub enclosure?
elguillejr  Sep 03, 2023
1 answer
A
This subwoofer would fit the factory sub location on your 2006 Tacoma. Additionally, the factory subwoofer in your vehicle has dual 2-ohm voice coils, just like this subwoofer. This means that the TS-A2000LD2 would be a suitable replacement. However, I would caution that, generally speaking, aftermarket subwoofers are designed to handle more power than factory subwoofers, and you may want to consider adding an aftermarket amplifier later one in order to properly power your new aftermarket subwoofer.

Q
How do I wire this to my original vehicle setup? Since it's a dual voice coil, do you have a wiring diagram you can send me. It's going in a 08 tundra which only has 1 woofer behind the seat, I believe it has to be 2ohm going to the original amp that came from factory
marco  Apr 20, 2023
1 answer
A
Although this will physically fit into your factory subwoofer location, it would not be advisable to power it with the factory amplifier. Since this subwoofer has 2-ohm dual voice coils, it can only be wired to achieve a 1-ohm or 4-ohm impedance. Please reach out to our advisors via online chat or phone at 1-800-324-9695 for further help with this project.

Q
The fitment guide says this sub fits in the rear right side panel on a 2010 Ford Explorer, I am unsure if the factor amp will for work, and if not is there one that is a direct replacement?
elijah  Mar 10, 2023
1 answer
A
Although this will physically fit into the factory subwoofer location, it may not be the best option to work with the factory amplifier. We do not currently have a directly replacement option due to the unusual impedance of the factory subwoofer (dual 1.2-ohm voice coils). Our advisors can help to explore other options for bass in your vehicle. You may reach us via online chat or phone at 1-800-324-9695.

Q
It fit in factory space mini coutryman 2023?
carlos  Dec 30, 2022
1 answer
A
This Pioneer TS-A2000LD2 is not a fit, Carlos. It looks like depth is very tight in those under seat subwoofer enclosures on your 2023 Mini, the same subs are used in both Harmon Kardon and non-HK sound packages. I'm showing 1.26 inches in our research, which means we have no subwoofers that will fit the factory location, sadly. You could consider using a small, powered sub like the Kicker HS10 in the link below in an alternate location. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_20646HS10/Kicker-46HS10.html

Q
Does this fit a 08 Mazda MX-5 with Bose system?
stuko  Oct 06, 2022
1 answer
A
This speaker would require custom installation including the fabrication of a spacer. We have not tested this speaker with the factory Bose amplifier. It is possible that it would require more power than the factory amplifier provides. For additional help with this project, please reach out to our advisor via chat or phone at 1-800-324-9695.

Q
I have a 2001 suburban with a factory sub and amp. Amp and sub are 2 ohm and SVC. I plan to keep factory amp. If I were to purchase this sub that has DVC, how would I wire it optimal performance at 2 ohms? Or would I be better of buying a new sub that is a 4 ohm DVC and parallel it to get 2 ohm?
erik  Dec 29, 2020
1 answer
A
This subwoofer cannot be wired so show an amp a 2 ohm load. A DVC 4 ohm, DVC 1 ohm, or SVC 2 ohm subwoofers are the only ones that can be wired to a 2 ohm load. We have advisors that you can reach by calling 1-800-324-9695 who will be happy to check our current inventory to see if we have a sub that can fit and work with the stock amp

Q
Directions in the instruction manual, for the sealed box, show a depth (from face of box where speaker is to the back) of 12 1/4". Yet if you do the math using that dimension, along with the other recommended dimensions, the box will have way more than .5 cu.ft. Also the drawing visually indicates it's much shorter than 12 1/4"..... is that a typo? If I'm doing the math it correctly, to get to .5 cu.ft. it should be about half that, around 6". Please advise, thank you.
