Excellent upgrade from old Toyota speakers

I decided to upgrade the Stereo of my old Toyota Sienna. The entire project consisted on replacing the old parts with a new head unit, new speakers, and rear camera. Crutchfield provided a very detailed guide on how to do it and all the parts and tools. This Pioneer TS-A652F speakers together with a Pioneer head unit greatly improve the sound. Now I can ride my car another 100,000 miles.

Tweeter fell right off after a few years of use in rear deck...

This is my 2nd time buying as a replacement to one of my other ones. Bought it the first time a few years ago to replace my stock 95 speakers in my tercel. Recently I heard a buzzing whenever I played songs and decided to replace with scratch/dented ones as its behind a cover anyways and saved about 20 bucks. Well once I removed the first set the tweeter actually fell off and was sitting on the speaker. So over time the glue stopped holding and the actual tweeter fell right now and the buzzing I heard was the tweeter vibrating on the actual speaker. On further inspection the super tiny wire soldered to it is so tiny I am surprised it lasted this long. Since they come in 2's I now have one more backup for the other side since this design seems flawed and over time just breaks after so much vibration. It might have to do with my 2 12's right under them though. Regardless stock lasted 25 years and these lasted just a few. I guess you get what you pay for.

Blew it out with moderate volume

Initially these speakers sounded great. I had them dialed in. I have them in the roll bar of my Jeep Gladiator. I've been running them since March 2021. I have a JBL DSP4086 (40W per channel) powering my system. I have a sub and have the crossover set for 80 Hz. I like music loud but not earth shattering. My passenger side blew this morning (July 23) going to work with the volume turned up only a 1/3 of the way. They should be able to handle what I'm putting through them. A 70W RMS speaker should be able to take the energy from a 40W amp no problem. Not these. Now there is a constant "buzzing" sound. I plan on returning these speakers.

Sound great

Replaced the original dead GM speakers. I took chance and ordered these because I came to the realization that my stereo doesn't sound right....found 3 out of my 4 door speakers had died. Hoping that I didn't have a wiring issue, I ordered these speakers. Installed them in a few hours and the result was amazing. I usually don't get this lucky.

Sound great. Did not fit in 2009 Honda CR-V with the adaptors that Crutchfield provided. The tweeter would stick out just a bit too far and not allow the inside door panel skin to go back on. Thankfully the included adaptor Pioneer provided in the box was slightly lower profile and worked great. Had to use 1 sheet metal screw to make new hole, but no complaints and super easy. Sound great! The wiring adaptors Crutchfield provided were perfect.

Great upgrade from the stock WRX speakers

This is a great upgrade from the stock Subaru WRX speakers. I have a 2017 Subaru WRX Premium and the stock door speakers were horrible. With these Pioneer TS-A652F's, the vocals and instruments are clear and crisp, but the lows are about equal, which is to say they are under whelming. Super easy install with the Crutchfield supplied mounting brackets and wire adapters. Make sure you use a drill bit and drill about a 1/16" hole so that the wires can fit between the mounting bracket and the speaker since the factory plug is outside the speaker hole. All-in-all a great upgrade at a fantastic price point for a 3-way speaker.

I was very pleased with the selection and pricing from Crutchfield. I received the speakers and accessories in two days. Luckily for me, there was even a YouTube video from Crutchfield demonstrating how to install the speakers in my particular car (2010 Honda Civic sedan). The only shortcoming of the video was that they omitted the part that showed how to attach the speakers to the adapters which had me confused until I found another video that showed that the 5 inner tabs on the adapter simply had to be removed. Other than that, the video really helped the installation go smoothly and quickly. As far as the speakers are concerned, they sound 100% better than the 11 year old stock speakers. The sound is richer, smoother, and overall, they are well worth the cost. I installed the rear deck and door speakers and for well under $200 all in, I am very pleased with everything. Granted, they would sound even better with a new head unit and/or amp which is probably the case with pretty much every speaker set, but that will have to wait. If I do decide to upgrade, I will definitely be using Crutchfield again.

Upgrade over factory speaker for 2004 Chevy

Earth shattering bass

I think Crutchfield really knows there stuff especially the in depth techy information. Not sure why the said these would not fit my 96 lexus es300 at all! You tell me something can't be done and don't say why, I'll show you other words. Bass hits so hard with tweeter and mid disconnected hpf+log for bass only and in proper door enclosure with eq and remote bass control. Wasn't to hard took 2 hours.

Had a pair of Kenwood door speakers in my truck and wasn't happy with them so decided to replace them with these pioneers and WOW what a difference. Crisp clean sound and just enough punch. It's amazing what a difference a good speaker makes

1998 Corolla

Replacement for tired 22yo speakers in a Corolla. Work great without adding an amp, but would be even better with one I'm sure. Stereo was never bad but age takes its toll, and these fill all the missing frequencies of the originals nicely. Usually an Alpine guy, but Pioneer always seems to have the best fit for the Toyota's I've owned.

Better than my stock speakers for sure

I've had these speakers in my car for a few days now, and these are SO much better than the stock speakers. I am using a pioneer head unit with no external amp and they seem to be pretty powerful. There isn't a lot of bass, but the highs and mids are smooth and the mounting bracket that pioneer sends with them is really nice and makes it easier to install.

The speakers are an instant upgrade to the factory installed speakers. The clarity of the sound is amazing. The mounting bracket and wiring suggested by Crutchfield made the installation easy and clean. Other sites offered the same product at comparable price but only mentioned a bracket and wiring were necessary but never provided the bracket or wiring number. Crutchfield automatically included both items and best of all for FREE. I am very satisfied.

Very Impressed

I was really surprised by these speakers with their sound quality and how loud they are. Now lets put this into perspective, these speakers were less than $100 for the pair, and they're only a 6.5" driver, but compared to the factory speakers, they sound great. These are installed in the front doors, and I am driving them with a Kenwood DMX7706S head unit. I cannot believe how much bass they have for their size. They have great range and separation. I still have the factory speakers in the back doors, so I am pushing these pretty hard most of the time. And because I am usually listening to MP3 files, not CDs, this is all even more impressive. A good aftermarket stereo is definitely recommended for these speakers.

Terrible distortion!

My last set of 6 1/2 Pioneers used to hound in my truck. Its why I chose Pioneer this time but what a mistake. These are weaker than puppy breath. All highs and no bass. If you turn them up at all... get ready for some of the worst distortion I have ever heard in my life. very dissatisfied don't waste your money.

Replaced all 4 factory speakers ( front door and rear deck) in 2007 Honda civic with 4 Pioneers. Writing this review a week after speakers install. Still using the factory player. Gone through youtube videos for installation. The free adapter mounts that Crutchfield included with the order is perfect. Amazing sound quality improvement over factory speakers. Was hearing new sounds in mids & highs, which the factory speaker never produced. Excellent mid and crisp high range. Voices are clear and the bass is deep and very tight. Enjoying the music better than before. Before getting Pioneers, I ordered different speakers, which did not fit in my car. Crutchfield made the speaker swap easier and hassle free. Thank you Crutchfield!! Overall I am very happy with Pioneers and Crutchfield.

2009 Chevy Avalanche LS 5.3L Gas, factory stereo system, no factory external amp. Both rear speakers quit working at the same time. Pulled rear door panel & tested with another speaker, stereo was fine. Installed 4 of these, why buy 2 when you can by 4 for twice the price, and they sound amazing! Really digging my Pioneers! The Pioneer adapter mounts worked fine. I did not use the free ones Crutchfield included. The free wiring adapters are nice but beware, the red end female terminals are TIGHT! Use a supportive tool under the speaker terminals while gently working the adapter connector on.

Speakers appear to be of high quality. The overall sound is good and with the stock sub, the system sounds decent. I wish I could change the head unit as to get a better equalizer, but I cannot blame the speakers for that.

Great sound so far

I bought this set to replace my "factory upgraded" Pioneer front door speakers since one had "blown". I made it a point to get a set of 3-way speakers. It just happens that these are Pioneer too. Thank goodness I did not need to splice into any wires. That sped up installation significantly. The speaker wiring harness that Crutchfield included with my order worked perfectly fine for my 2014 Cruze. When I finished and turned on the Stereo, I could easily tell the difference from my old front speakers. I could hear more highs and mids with this new pair of Pioneer 3-way speakers. Very happy with this set of speakers so far. I have only owned them for about a month, so I cannot say anything about longevity. I Also used the speaker mounting brackets that Crutchfield included. I'm nervous about how little "Bite" the screws seemed like they would get using those speaker mounts. So I used some "household goop" at those screw locations to ease my mind a bit.
