Great sound, highly recommend

2015 Chevrolet Malibu
Installed in all 4 doors of my 2015 Chevy Malibu 2LT. These are a world of difference!! Highs are very much clearer, mids are not nearly as muddy as stock speakers and bass is clean and much less distorted. So far, I've got them running just on factory stereo with no amplifier. They get loud if need be, but with no distortion compared to the factory speakers. Bass gets quite deep considering these are just 6.5" speakers. Install was quick and easy. Speakers fit very well using the adapter rings supplied by Pioneer. I plan to switch to the other adaptors and refit them using gasket tape and add dampeners inside the doors for best sound quality.
Pros: High quality design and build, these are made of great quality materials. Power handling will allow for adding an amplifier.
Cons: Power handling is not quite as much as some other speakers.

Much clearer than the factory rear door speakers in my 2025 Silverado HD. They definitely don't have as much punch as the TSA693FH 6x9's in the front doors, which likely has to do with woofer size. They seem to work well with the factory head unit but I have a feeling a small amplifier would really make these shine.

Crisp clean sound in my 2008 gmc sierra 2500hd extra cab. The rings that were spied didn't fit as well as the pioneer rings. Pioneer rings were alot tougher feeling and not cheap looking in comparison.

I had recently purchased the Pioneer A-Series 6x9's for the front doors. I was really impressed with the fantastic sound, so I wanted to try these in the back doors. Unfortunately, I wasn't impressed with these even after giving them 2 weeks to break in. The sound just wasn't there for me. I will be putting the JBL's back in

I mounted these in the front kick panels of my 1939 Chevy street rod. Right now I have no interior so it's really hard to tell how they will sound when I am on the road.but sitting in the garage they sound great.and even with the engine running I am confident that they won't disappoint!
Pros: Sound great and installation went well.

2024 F-150 Perfect Upgrade
Todd from Houston, TX on 11/20/2024
2024 Ford F-150
This product actually says it does NOT fit my 2024 F150 rear doors. But IT DOES. I installed the 6x9 version of this speaker in the front of my truck and immediately noticed a difference. Clearer bass lines, vocals easier to understand, no distortion. So I decided to get the matching 6" set for the rear, but the "fit my car" said this wasn't going to work. It suggested other pioneer speakers with almost identical physical specs and dimensions .. So I took a chance and bought them. These A MAX speakers come with a very robust and customizable set of speaker brackets right out of the box. So I tossed the free brackets Crutchfield sent and used the pioneer brackets for a perfect fit in the rear doors.
Pros: Loud Clear Well Built Comes with Pioneer Speaker Brackets.
Cons: None

Crutchfield Is great and probably has a new customer for life. I wasn't pleased with Fit and Finish right out of the box. Looks like someone used their finger to glue speaker to base. You can see in picture that the edge isn't quite right. I tested before installing and glue was secure and didn't seem to have any impact on sound quality. Speakers sound pretty good, although I was hoping for better bass. I suspect that the stock stereo on my 2008 civic simply doesn't have the power to properly drive the speakers. Using the fade control to prioritize new rear speakers solves the problem.
Pros: Free Install Kit and help
Cons: Speaker Fit and Finish

Sounds great and fit my truck perfectly
Jason from Everett, WA on 10/21/2024

I had initially hoped to get Polk DB speakers for my new truck, like I had in my last truck. Polk DB series didn't come in the right configurations to use at all locations in my truck, so I went with these Pioneer A-Series. The Crutchfield system says they won't fit in the rear doors of a 2021 Titan. Wrong. I bought them anyways knowing they'd fit. The included brackets that Pioneer sends with these speakers worked perfectly, and are very high quality. So, maybe Crutchfield can update their database: TS-A653FH fit fine with the included Pioneer brackets. Anyways, the sound is spot on. I am using them with the JBL DSP amplifier being sold here, and they sound excellent WITHOUT needing to "tune" them using the DSP. I have everything "flat" in the DSP, except for a HPF at 80Hz 12dB. I was worried I would miss the sound of my last Polk DB speakers, but these sound awesome. There's a label on the box of these speakers that says "Wide, Open Sound" yup, they do sound very good.
Pros: High efficiency Clean, accurate (to my ears) sound Excellent included mounting adapters from Pioneer fit my Titan perfectly

Great speakers for the mk4 jetta an aftermarket head unit really makes them shine. Cant wait to get a subwoofer and new tweeters for the complete sound profile.
Pros: Very clear and reasonably loud definitely an upgrade from stock speaks and the plug and play adapters made the install a 45 min job for me (no audio experience).
Cons: A little interference probably from the wiring on the head unit.

Easy install, Bass begins @ 40Hz!
Daniel from Parkland, FL on 9/10/2024
2006 Hyundai Sonata
I had two needs in my Kia K5: a little more punch and some voice on the rear doors. The factory speakers at the rear doors are just paper woofers like the front, and coaxials with several tweeters, supertweeters have too much treble, so I went for basic coaxial and Crutchfield suggested me this one because of the bass response, beginning @ 40 Hz. We paired it with the TS-A653CH component kit in the front, although another set of coaxials like this would also be an option. Easy to install, pure replacement, way better sound. More understanding of the music for the family.
Pros: Good bass response Pleasant treble No distortion
Cons: None so far

2014 GMC Sierra 1500
Got these for my 2014 Sierra and after installation I was pretty disappointed on the sound. Come to find out there is a break-in period that I didn't know about. Soooo now my butt has to go back and add sound deadening to my doors because these things rock. No kidding I can't believe the difference after a few days of breaking them in. I do have a small amp pushing them so I do believe that's a must. On another note I purchased everything that was recommended like spacers and harnesses and I really didn't need all of it. So check what comes in the box first. With that said I'm very satisfied with Crutchfield and my overall purchase

I put these in my Honda Civic. I've never heard my rock music sound so good. The voices are so clear with these speakers and they get almost too loud. If you listen to rap though, the bass isn't all that. Probably going to get a compact sub later.
Pros: Crystal clear high and decent mids
Cons: Lacking on the lows an amp would improve.

Corey from Northport, NY on 6/7/2024
I installed this in the rear doors on my 2010 es350 with the Mark Levinson system. This was a perfect OEM fit with the adapter bracket that these come with; you'll have to rotate the bracket a bunch to make it fit. These sound excellent, and I can't imagine anything better at this price point. Pioneer seems to really gear their products towards audiophiles because of the natural sound and detail; again, you can get better products at higher price points. I would definitely consider this as an upgrade from the stock Mark Levinson component tweeter/6.5 that was in the door.
Pros: Great sound, high sensitivity, low price. Great replacement for systems with the factory amplifier.
Cons: The wires that connect to the terminals have to get pinched in-between the speaker and the door panel, as there is no hole for the wires to go through.

Great upgrades from my factory speakers. I will still need an amp as my factory stereo is not providing much output to my back speakers.
Pros: I love the design.
Cons: Not a con to the speakers. It's just my stereo won't optimize these great speakers without an amp.

Awesome - they fit!
Sam from Meridian, ID on 1/10/2024
Although the website indicates they won't fit the back doors my 2010 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab, they do! I did call and discuss this with a CR rep who was super helpful and manually added the adapters, which I didn't end up using. The adapters that came with the speakers were thinner and matched up. I did have to drill a oblong hole near the side of the top of the bracket to get the adapter wires though to the speakers as Nissan wires run on the outside of the inner panel vs the inside in most cars. There is plenty of room between the tweeters and door panels. The door panels fit back in place perfectly. These speakers match the front 6x9 components (TS-693CH) installed earlier, which is why I wanted these. They sound great, so much better than the OEM speakers. They are really detailed and had a noticeable amount of tight bass. I could instantly tell a difference even though they are in the rear doors. Wahooo! I'm really not sure if I need a powered sub now. These are powered by a Kenwood DDX-376BT HU. I'm sure the speakers would sound even better with more power so I may add an amp at some point.
Pros: They fit & sound great!
Cons: Nissan running the speaker wires between the inside panels vs inside the main door channel requires drilling an oblong hole in the adapter to run the wires to the speakers.
