I have a 2018 Silverado LTZ which has the Bose system with amp and sub. These speakers bring out the crisp highs that were missing with the stock speakers. Installation was easy and knowing I had Crutchfield techs if needed makes life easier.

The missing link!

I replaced the four door speakers in my 2025 Silverado 2500HD with Pioneer A-Series Max 2-ways and they sounded great, albeit needing more power, but there was a bit of clarity missing from the front. Finishing things off with these dash corner speakers was the missing link.they really helped balance out the vocals.

Clean, accurate sound from tiny, 2-1/4" speakers

These tiny little 2-1/4" speakers sound amazing in my 2019 Silverado. They sounded much better than the stock paper speakers with the factory head unit. Crisp highs and accurate mids. Speakers come with an inline bass filter that is needed to protect the speakers from low frequencies. I'm now currently powering these 2-1/4 Pioneer dash speakers in parallel, with a pair of Skar TX69 (6x9's in the front doors), with a Pioneer GM- D8701, 4 channel amplifier. I'm also using an Audiocontrol LC6i active LOC which provides a clean preamp signal to my amplifiers. I'm sending 150W RMS to each channel at a 2 ohm load, which provides 75W RMS to each individual speaker on the front channels. All I can say is wow! Very loud, clean, and accurate sound coming from these little speakers. They sound great when listening to: Rap/Hip Hop, R&B, Alternative, Rock, Jazz, Pop etc. Overall very happy with my purchase from Crutchfield.

Real 2.75" speakers

Fit these in a 08 Highlander, sound is a big improvement over stock when you turn it up, and this is going through the stock JBL amp which has a built in crossover, can't wait to see how these perform freely with a new amp later.

Sounds are crisp and clear, but as others have noted in the reviews, it needs to be amplified. If you don't plan on adding an amp this speaker is probably not the best choice for replacing the OE unit. The OE unit is noticeably louder at lower volumes than the Pioneer in my experience . I'm sure these will wake up with an amp.

16 Silverado used w 6x9 component in door!!!

Replaced the dash speakers in my 16 Silverado. They sound better than stock speakers running off of the head unit, but after a compact amp was added in my dash, I paired these with an A-series 6×9 component in the door( never installed the tweeter because of the TS-A709 in dash) and WOW! The highs and mids from these sound amazing. Very smooth, crisp, and clean. Not harsh at all. Highly recommend this for my Siverado people in the same boat. Speaker install was very easy. Thank you Lee!!

Placed in a Nissan Frontier that didn't originally have dash speakers installed. These sound very clear without being harsh as sometimes happen next to the windshield. Perfect fit in my application and worked perfectly to move the soundstage forward and up in the vehicle.

Loud and clear

Owned them for 4/5 months now and they are still loud as day one. Shipping was fast and I got exactly what I paid for. The install on my 2017 Jeep Cherokee was simple , although these guys were tight. But I knew that before I purchased. I have these wired at 2 ohms with some old school alpine 5.25 in the doors. On a two channel crossfire amp with 70/80 wrms across the load. The pioneers are a bit louder than the alpines but the silk tweeters on the Alpines balance well with the pioneers. I gave 5 stars because my experience as a whole deserves the top spot.

Best speakers for frontier tweeter replacement

Bought these to replace tweeters in 2012 frontier pulled oem tweeters cut the connectors connected them to the pioneers installed them took about 45-60 minutes and my sound is infinitely better

Huge improvement over stock speakers on our 2006 Armada. We have a competition level audio system installed for the daily driver. Needed some better high clarity from our Alpine headunit. These were very easy to swap so we did them first. Fitment was perfect. Vocals are much better. Will most likely be using pioneer on the rest of the doors (6x9 and 6.5).

Improvement over stock.

The 2.75" mid is an improvement but the tweeter is shrill. I'm hoping that it smooths out as it breaks in. I was concerned that the 82dB sensitivity would be overpowered by the 92dB door speaker. The sensitivity is the same or lower than the stock speaker so I use a slightly higher volume setting.

Cleans up the highs and vocals.

Nice clean highs. I used them to replace the dash corner speakers with my stock head unit. I used them with the high pass filter included so they focus mostly on the vocals and highs.. Big improvement, even without using an amplifier.

The highs and mids (voice), are awesome! Polarity was an issue, but basically, the large bracket is positive, and the bass blocker capacitor mounts on positive side, even though factory speaker had bass blocker capacitor on the negative side. Very happy with these speakers!

Awesome in the right application

If you are replacing factory speakers with these on the factory head unit alone, you won't be happy. They are the same as or less loud than factory. However, if you put them on an amp, you will be blown away. I considered returning them but I talked to a customer service rep at Crutchfield and we decided to try an amp first. I put them and the door speakers on a SKAR 400 watt amp with the LCI2 and they scream. Extremely clear as well. They are mediocre at best as factory replacements, but outstanding on an amp. I strongly recommend them. I will be copying and pasting this review to the Pioneer 6x9 and 6.5's because I feel exactly the same way about them. With all this being said, I should mention that I was going for extremely loud. If that's not what you are looking for they would probably be fine as factory replacements.

Completes the sound

I replaced the door speakers in my 2023 GMC Sierra thinking that would be all I needed. Then, after some thought, I bought these speakers for the dash. They really compete the sound, adding a rich upper layer to the mids and highs. I was apprehensive about taking the dash apart, but with the instructions included, it was easier than the doors.

MAY BE A GOOD SPEAKER, BUT NOT AS GOOD AS FACTORY BOSE

these speakers may be a good replacement for an original type factory speaker, but they don't come close to the quality sound of the factory Bose speaker. They are only about half as loud and I ended up putting the Bose back in.

Mounted in dash as factory replacement. Running them active using JL 6 channel amp. Sound great. Mids & upper mids really pop. DSP helps, and staging is incredible. Highs are a bit harsh, but still have some work to do with the DSP tuning.

Excellent sound! Asking for more power!

Replaced my dash speakers with these Pioneer's in my 2016 4Runner(non JBL system). Just like all the other speakers I've replaced, these made a night and day difference in sound and fit perfectly in to the factory bracket with no modifications. The crossovers that are in line with the speaker wire tucked away no problem. This set completed my upgrade for all my door speakers plus the hatch in my rig. Installing a JL Audio RD900/5 soon to power all speakers including a sub. Can't wait!

Nice tweeter option

So far so good. Powering with 75watts via 1/2 channel of a 6 channel Alpine amp. Working nicely to fill out the highs in the rear passenger area. Used included crossovers and mounted in the rear pillars of my non Bose equipped 2022 Tahoe. Reasonably priced and actually sound just as good, if not better than my Alpine dash tweeters.

Huge improvement

These speakers are a huge improvement over stock dash speakers in my 2017 frontier crew. They are a tight fit, but I was able to install them directly in the stock opening and did not have to make any modifications to the opening. I did snip off one corner of the bracket on of of the speakers that was not sitting correctly, but on the second one I turned it about 90 degrees and it went in smoothly.

My new front dash speakers sound awesome. The Pioneer's really pop. I was able to install them myself with the directions from Crutchfield and some Utube videos. Saving me $400 from what the dealer was going to charge me. $200 of that was for the speakers alone. Also I ordered on Tuesday and my speakers arrived the next day. Now that's service! When I have a little more $$ I will upgrade the 4 door speakers and will buy them from Crutchfield.

Great Upgrade from OEM using Factory radio.

Installed in 2017 Chevy Silverado; excellent upgrade from OEM using factory radio. Installation was really easy after getting trim off; ended up using the female part from the OEM speakers and soldered it to the new speaker/speaker wire so that I wouldn't have to splice the wire coming out of the dash. Once I did that it was plug and play as there is no wiring kit that plugs in directly.

Great little speakers

I purchased these to replace my dash speakers in my 2018 Silverado. I had been looking for some dash speakers for awhile when Pioneer released these. I was hesitant about most of the others choices on the market because most of them are paper cone. I didn't think that replacing paper with different paper cone speakers made much sense. When it came time to install the speakers. I was confident that I could handle it with a little bit of mechanical knowledge. Crutchfield sent installation clips and wires, the dash speakers do not have an adapter like other speaker locations do. So I ended up making my own adapter out of the old speakers. All I did was break off the clip off the old speaker and soldered it to the pigtail wire with the crossover supplied by Pioneer. This made it pretty easy. I had read reviews where people said that the hardest part was splicing wires in the dash. Now it was time for a test drive. The Pioneer dash speakers blend well with the Infinity door speakers that I had already upgraded. Hope that this helps with your decision.

2018 Titan regular cab: These Pioneer's are an excellent upgrade over the stock drivers in the dash corners. Running on reciever power only, but will be adding an amp so they should sound even better. Very happy with sound quality.

Not very loud

I used these in my 2018 4runner limited that came with the jbl speakers. These speakers work but are much quieter than the jbls. After playing with the fade settings, the speakers sound much better but I feel like the low range front door speakers are now too loud. I'm still evaluating to see if I should return them.
