Step up to Pioneer components

It's the right time to step up to new speakers — these D Series car speakers deliver superior Pioneer quality at a competitive price. Designed to provide a smooth and open sound that's miles above your factory speakers, the TS-D69C 6"x9" component speaker system gives you low distortion and unfailing performance, even under the harsh conditions of living in your car doors.

Sweet highs and hearty lows

Pioneer infuses the D Series polypropylene woofer cone with strong aramid fibers, making it both durable and incredibly responsive for the best bass experience possible. A coated textile dome tweeter ensures the excellent high-frequency performance you've been craving, while an inline crossover means you won't have any extra gear to stash in your doors or dash. Prepare for crisp, musical detail and a new, impactful soundstage across your dash that will take enjoyment of your music to the next level — especially if you power these speakers with an aftermarket amplifier.

Fine tuning

Tweeter placement is crucial for vivid, precise playback — that's why Pioneer includes a unique swivel mount with this component system that lets you precisely aim your music's high frequencies. Flush-, surface-, and bracket-mounting hardware gives you more options for installing your tweeters.

Grilles are not included; the factory grilles should be suitable for most applications.

Features

Woofers: Each woofer uses an aramid fiber interlaced injection-molded polypropylene (IMPP) cone. This process of cone molding assures a uniform thickness and the addition of aramid fibers adds rigidity to the cones.

Tweeter Mounting: The tweeters can be flush mounted or mounted behind a factory grille using the included housings. Once installed in either housing the tweeters will pivot, so they can be angled to optimize imaging.

Tweeter Mounting Dimensions:

  Factory Mount Flush Mount
Mounting Height 0" 0.543"
Mounting Depth 1.134" 0.591"
Frame Diameter 2.012" 2.322"
Cutout Diameter N/A 2.010"

Crossovers: The high pass crossovers are integrated into the included speaker wire and the low pass crossovers are integrated into the woofer baskets. Both are 6 dB/octave and the crossover point is 3 kHz. The two lengths of speaker wire each connect to both a woofer and tweeter. Quick slides connect to the woofer, a 40" output leg with integrated crossover (approximately 1/2" diameter x 3/4" long) connects to the terminals attached to the tweeter, and an 11" input leg connects to the source.

A
For information on selecting the best amp for your speakers, I would recommend reaching out to an advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to help determine the differences between the amp models and help you make the best choice for your system.

Q
Will I need a set of midrange speakers to pair with these?
kody  Jun 21, 2022
1 answer
A
These Pioneer TS-D69C are designed to split the full range between the tweeter and the 6x9 woofer, so no additional midrange is needed Kody! These sound great as well and the integrated crossover on the tweeter makes install a breeze! Make sure when you order, that you punch your vehicle into our online Vehicle Guide and we will include a free bracket and harness for the woofer if needed, and we have them for your specific ride.

I am thinking of using these for front and rear of my 2018 Ram with No8.4 and No alpine. For the rears how would I mount the tweeters. Also could you recommend an amp to use with this setup?

Do I need to run capacitors to the tweeters for protection from low frequencies or is that what the crossovers do?

That's what the crossovers do. It has a hi pass filter that come with the tweeters.

The sound is better when using the high pass crossovers that come in the box. They are integrated into the speaker wire

Nope that's what's the crossovers are for.

I didn't have to on my 2012 Tacoma, I believe that's what the crossovers do. I am still using the stock "premium" (Bluetooth and satellite) head unit and unamped. Hope this helps.
kyle benjamin  Dec 21, 2020
Q
Can you run the tweeters directly off an amp or do you have to run them off the woofers?
william l.  Aug 01, 2020
1 answer
A
As long as you use the supplied passive crossovers or are able to use an electronic crossover of some sort (either built-in to your head unit or amp or a stand-alone unit) to only send the higher frequencies to the tweeters, then yes you can run them independently from the woofers.
