Pros: Concise instructions, including how to remove door panels Supplied speaker wires adapters Two way sound Pioneer quality

You really do get what you pay for with these, they are low end speakers and sound like it. They also are not 6x8s they are 5x7 so if you're replacing true 6x8 speakers with these you're downsizing.
Pros: Nice install package from Crutchfield
Cons: They aren't good speakers

Bought two sets of these for my Mercury Grand Marquis (front and back). I bought these because they had a fairly high db sensitivity rating 92db and didn't break the bank. I'm only running 20W to them from the Boss Audio head unit so the 40W rms power rating is fine. These speakers play very clean and provide decent clarity/detail. Perfect upgrade from stock speakers if you need 6x8's and don't want to spend a lot of coin.
Pros: High db sensitivity, clean sound

And I always knew that help was always just a phone call away. Once the installation was complete I was able to test them out and the results were fantastic. 2001 Tacoma Install
Patrick from WHITWELL, TN on 11/7/2022
2001 Toyota Tacoma
These are the least expensive, highest sensitivity (92db) name brand 5x7/6x8 you can buy. They seem to produce good clarity and volume using my new JVC head unit with 22 RMS after adjusting the internal EQ to my taste. Installed them in a 2001 Tacoma single cab pickup. Replaced the factory lower door speakers but retained the tweeter in the upper doors. Some have said don't use the original tweeter with these 2-way Pioneers but I've found the highs need all the help they can get and I'm pleased with the overall sound (once I adjusted the EQ built into the JVC head unit to my taste). Be advised, these are not a bolt-in in the 2001-2004 Tacoma. You must trim out some of the inner factory basket to make them fit. Be patient or you'll cut too much out and it won't seal against the door correctly like it does with the factory speaker (ask me how I know). It was corrected using some foam rubber seal and I did much better on the second basket. I'll go out on a limb and say more powerful 5x7/6x8's would not fit the factory baskets because their frames are much bigger. These Pioneers have a pretty small frame and they barely fit. I can't speak for the 95-2000 Tacoma's. I think they use round speakers in the doors.
Pros: Inexpensive. High sensitivity. Don't need an amp. Good sound.
Cons: None

Great Value and Sound good!
Stephen from INDIAN TRAIL, NC on 10/31/2022
2007 Ford Crown Victoria
I have had the factory speakers with an aftermarket head unit in my Crown Vic since i've owned it. I just felt they were decent enough for my use, and they were. But after seeing these for such a good deal, i figured for less than $100 i can replace all the speakers in my car, lets do it. Once installed on a FLAT EQ, they sound terrible and my factory speakers were better. Then once you start tuning the headunit and getting the right settings, these speakers really come alive! Great bass, solid mids and the highs are decent. Obviously these aren't as nice as higher end 3 or 4 way speakers, nor do they have the punch you will get from higher end models, but they do everything i want. I listen to mostly rock, some hip hop, and a funk. These speakers handle all of my music great, just make sure to have some different setting for certain genre's since the tweeters on these aren't as precise and loud as other models i've owned.
Pros: Cheap Price Point, Quality construction, good bass, good mids.
Cons: Highs aren't as crisp, Surround and Cone don't seem very heavy duty.

Ethan from STERLING, VA on 7/23/2022

good upgrade from the 20 year old speakers in my 02 ranger, 4 stars only because theirs a plastic trim ring that came loose after install (I used the original flanged hex bolts that where already in the truck since it was a better fastener) that caused a buzz-ing during use, after removing it from all 4 speakers, no more buzz the sound is deeper and richer then before. for the price these are I cannot complain they sound good and are an absolute upgrade from what was originally in my 02 ranger edge.
Pros: affordability, ease of installation, plug and play with harness adapter
Cons: plastic trim ring should be removed to prevent buzz, was not made clear in the installation instructions

Wish they had more bass response
Timothy from FORT WAYNE, IN on 3/20/2022
2006 Ford Ranger
I ordered these speakers to replace the OEM speakers in the rear of a Ford Ranger. The OEM speakers sounded muddy with very little high-end. Whereas the speakers in the doors sounded full-bodied with lots of top end along with good bass. I was hoping these speakers would match the clarity of the door speakers. These speakers are a definite improvement over the OEM speakers. They are much brighter than the speakers they replaced. But the sound appears thin with very little bottom end. I can fade back and forth between the door speakers and these speakers and the difference is quite obvious. These speakers don't produce the same level of bass as the OEM door speakers. These speakers don't produce the thumps of bass I was hoping they would. If these speakers were the only two in the vehicle, I suppose they would prove to be acceptable. At this price-point, I knew I would not be getting the best frequency response possible. But I was hoping for a bit more bottom-end. Maybe I will swap these speakers with the ones in the doors. If you are replacing OEM paper speakers, these speakers will be an improvement. Just don't expect what I describe as full-bodied frequency response.
Pros: Very inexpensive.
Cons: Very little bass and somewhat thin in frequency response.

2005 Ford F-150
Pioneer TS-G680 speakers were great speakers to replace the factory speakers in the front doors of my husband's 2005 F150. These are NOT the speakers you want if you are an audiophile expecting awesome performance and response BUT if you want decent sound that is a vast improvement over your 17 year old factory speakers for a reasonable price these are worth the money. The Metra 72-601 Speaker Wiring Harness that was included in the purchase price made the installation 'plug and play.' It took me about half an hour to install these.
Pros: Direct replacement for factory 6x8 speakers Decent sound for the price
Cons: None that I've found.

I added a touchscreen head unit to my F-150 to upgrade from the stock CD system. I discovered that one of the rear speakers wasn't working at all. These speakers went right in to replace a speaker that was broken, and they do that job well enough. The included wiring adapter meant no need to crimp, solder, or heat shrink anything - the first door took me a bit to take apart, but once I knew what to expect the second took me 10 minutes. Instructions were pretty good but supplemented with external youtube videos.

Cons: Make sure you have the right connectors. I had all the same and they came with two different types. I had to call fir the two I needed and Crutchfield sent me the ones I needed after I explained which ones I need

Installed them in my 97 ranger and while they sound ok, make sure you turn the bass way down on the head unit as they won't handle much at all. For a factory upgrade speaker, they are good.

Guest from Maryville, TN on 1/26/2021
These speakers are good for the money. I have them in the doors of a 2002 Ford Explorer sport. 3 total layers of sound deadening, a foam backing pad behind the speaker, and foam around the edge of the speaker (sealing off back waves). Bass is good off an alpine head unit, midrange is ok, but anything above about 4 kHz and they are lacking.
Pros: Good bass, so-so midrange, good bang for the buck.
Cons: Highs are really lacking.

Pretty good speakers for the money. Little lacking in the bass but I figured they would be. Going to pair them with a sub soon. But very crisp sound great highs and mids. Really easy to install just plug and play thanks to Crutchfield.
Pros: Good highs and mids. No distortion. Good price. One step above stock
Cons: Lacking in bass.

Work well. Replaced factory speakers in 2001 Focus. Rear had no clearance problems. Front, had to use provided spacer on back side to clear window, also the provided screws. Despite the specs showing 72Hz on the low side, these had no problem with the low bass. Sounded a little darked than the factory speakers, re-eq the deck and all the clarity is there. Well worth the price.

100000% better sounding and quality than my factory speakers in my impala. Great quality. Great bass low and high mix, awesome sound and not too expensive. Really wish I would've went up to the next tier. Crutchfield helps so much with providing the adapters. If you like the sound on that comes from these with your head unit try adding an amp and be ready to be amazed.

Decent upgrade over factory speakers
Crutchfield customer from Tamaqua, PA on 8/12/2019
1996 Jeep Cherokee
If I would have noticed that the frequency range for the speakers was 72-14k Hz I would have never bought them. I have them ran in parallel to a dual channel amp at 80W rms per channel. The sound quality is decent but you will notice a difference between these and speakers that go up to a 20k Hz frequency. They do put out a decent amount of bass but it has a plastic sounding quality to it. I am thankful I did not pay full price for these because they are definitely not worth the advertised price. Spend the extra $10-30 dollars for a higher quality speaker. If you are into high quality sound at a fair price, do not buy these and spend the couple extra bucks it will cost to get something better.
Pros: Build quality Ease of installation
Cons: Frequency range Quality of bass

Huge improvement over factory radio. Outstanding price that made changing out the damaged OEM speakers an easy choice. Took a little bit of troubleshooting to figure out where the spacer went (Flush against the rear of the speaker).
