Product Research

Features

Tweeter Materials: The tweeter has a PPTA dome diaphragm, and it's fluid-cooled for high power handling. PPTA is a poly material that's among the lightest and most responsive speaker materials developed. PPTA has high inner loss characteristics, which results in effective resonance damping. This material provides performance similar to metal diaphragm materials, but without the harshness often associated with metal diaphragms. The result is detailed, dynamic sound reproduction.

Metal Grilles: Each tweeter has a non-removable metal mesh grille attached.

Two Mounting Options: The tweeters may be surface or flush mounted. The tweeters do not swivel when flush or surface mounted.

Tweeter Mounting Dimensions:

  Surface Mount Flush Mount
Mounting Height 0.840" 0.419"

Crossover Specification: The 7 kHz in-line high-pass crossover capacitors have a slope of 6dB/octave.

Q
I am looking to add tweeters to my 2011 F-150. I do not have any tweeters currently. I am thinking about putting them in the sail panel on both front doors. I have replaced the factory 6x8s but still feel that the speakers are too low in the door from the factory to project the sound well. Anyone have any experience or advice?

I bought these two years ago and put them in a jeep grand Cherokee were the front speakers are also low. It was an easy install and I think they sound good. These aren't the top speakers out there but I have always liked pioneers stuff and they have helped a lot with the higher ends of the music. I had problems hearing the voice and treble before until I installed these tweeters. So that being said I really like these tweeters and they have really helped in my jeep.

2006 Honda CR-V EX model. I am replacing stock tweeter which seem to have built-in crossover and is wired such that speaker signal comes from amplifier to the tweeter and then goes to mid range speaker. 2pin connector is connected to the tweeter. Can anybody recommend aftermarket tweeters?

I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: We do not carry any separate tweeters that will fit into your vehicle. We certainly have some component speakers (separate woofer and tweeter) that will fit your front door. If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat.

Q
Have any of you guys mounted this under the grills of your stock tweeters? In other words did you just pull out the factory tweeter and then put these in place, replace the grill, and have the stereo look stock?

I purchased the tweeter for my project audio system in Philippines. One thing I can tell, they sound great! Sorry, I can not answer your question about mounting the tweeter to replace your original.

I was not able to mount them under my trucks stock grills so I just took everything out and mounted the pioneer tweeters in their place, looks good.

Yes I did. I used glue from the auto store, two tubes you mix together which forms a solid apoxy once it dries. I also used a dremel to scuff the smooth surface of the plastic factory housing for the glue to stick to. The tweeters are still attached and sound great!
