Overview: The Technics EAH-AZ80 true-wireless ear buds let you enjoy excellent sound quality while you show your style. The ear buds feature a beautiful aluminum trim with engraved Technics logos for an elegant look. They offer Dual Hybrid Noise Cancelling technology to shut out ambient noise while you immerse yourself in your music. The ear buds are IPX4 water-resistant, and can withstand heavy rain or a vigorous workout. The ear buds are designed to fit comfortably in the concha groove of the outer ear. Seven pairs of ear tips are included to help you find the best fit. The AZ80s can be stored in the included case where the batteries can be immediately recharged.

Drivers: The AZ80s are equipped with new 10mm, free-edge aluminum alloy diaphragms with a wide frequency response and low distortion. They are housed in a unique acoustic control chamber that optimizes air flow for natural sounding vocals, powerful bass, and a harmonizer that smooths out high frequencies. The ear buds support high-res wireless audio (with LDAC) and deliver the Signature Technics Clear Sound with great detail.

Ear Tips: Because differences in ear shape varies from person-to-person, the AZ80s come with seven pairs of ear tips to help you find the pair that fits best and gives you the best acoustic isolation from the outside world. There are two pairs of Extra Small (XS), two pairs of Small (S), and one pair each of Medium (M) (attached), Large (L), and Extra Large (XL). The better the seal in the ear canal, the better the frequency response (especially bass) and passive noise reduction.

Bluetooth 5.3: The ear buds feature Bluetooth 5.3 for better stability, security, and efficiency than older versions. They support the typical codecs (SBC and AAC), plus LDAC for high-res wireless audio. LDAC enables wireless audio in 96kHz/24-bit and bit rates of up to 990 kbps when connected with compatible devices. Multipoint capability lets you simultaneously pair with up to three devices and seamlessly switch between them.

Voice Assistants: You can activate voice assistant features with Amazon Alexa or Apple Siri. You can select your desired voice assistant in the Technics Audio Connect app.

Technics Audio Connect App: The Technics Audio Connect app helps with setup, pairing, and use of the AZ80 ear buds. In the app, you can check the battery status of each ear bud individually and the charging case at a glance. The app lets you customize the sound quality to your personal taste or mood using the built-in 5-band equalizer or preset curves. The Active Noise Cancelling and Ambient Sound modes can be adjusted in 100 steps with a finger wheel on the app. The JustMyVoice feature can also be fine-tuned in the app. If you lose one or both ear buds, you can use the app to locate on a map the last location where the headphones were paired. If they are within range, you can have them emit a sound. The touch controls can be customized in the app, especially if you frequently listen with only one ear bud. When firmware updates become available, you will be notified through the app, download the update, and transmit it wirelessly to the ear buds. The Audio Connect app is available for Apple iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch with iOS 12.0 or later, and for smart devices running Android 5.0 and up.

Touch Controls: The AZ80 ear buds have touch sensors on the flat portion of the outer body that let you control your music and phone calls with taps and hold gestures. Music playback controls include playback/pause, next track, previous track, and volume up and down. Phone call controls include answer call, mute/unmute your voice, reject call, and end call. You can also select Noise Cancelling, External Sound Control, and activate your voice assistant. You can switch to using only one ear bud after connecting to Bluetooth, returning the other ear bud to the charging case. Because specific operations are assigned to each ear bud, only the operations available to the chosen ear bud will be possible.

Active Noise Cancelling: The EAH-AZ80s feature Dual Hybrid Active Noise Cancelling to help you enjoy your listening experience without distraction from the noise around you. The ear buds use a feed-forward microphone and a digital software filter to suppress noise from the outside. At the same time, a feedback mic and analog hardware filter cuts out noise from inside the earbud. This allows the noise-cancelling levels to be adjusted based on the changing environment. You can also fine tune the noise cancelling effect in the Technics Audio Connect app.

Ambient Sound Modes: The AZ80s also feature unique ambient sound modes that help you stay aware of your surroundings. There are two modes to choose from: Natural Ambient Mode captures all surrounding noise so you can hear what's going on around you while you're on the phone or listening to music. The Attention Mode captures sounds in the frequency range of the human voice, rejecting sounds outside of that range. This allows you to hear public announcements or engage in conversation with others without having to remove your ear buds. The Technics Audio Connect app allows you to fine tune the amount of external sound you want to hear in both modes.

JustMyVoice: Technics' JustMyVoice technology uses unique signal processing for clear, natural phone conversations. Each ear bud is equipped with four microphones (eight total) to pick up your voice and ambient noise. Voice detection mics pick up your voice when speaking, while two MEMS mics actively isolates your voice and reduce the surrounding noise with beamforming technology. Your voice is clear and natural, whether you're in a crowded room or outside on a windy day.

Battery: The EAH-AZ80 ear buds are equipped with 3.7-volt, 85 mAh Lithium polymer rechargeable batteries, and the charging case with a 3.7-volt 700 mAh battery. The ear buds charge when they are placed inside of the charging case. The charging case can be charged via USB with the included USB-C cable (5V / 500mA minimum). You can also charge the case wirelessly by placing the case on a Qi-compatible wireless charging pad (sold separately). Battery life and charging specs can be found below.
