Audio Section
JENO Engine Digital Amp: The SU-GX70 uses a fully digital amplifier that incorporates Technics' renowned digital audio JENO Engine technology. Its digital transmission system processes signals fully digitally in all stages from input to output. Compared to analog transmission, this system is less susceptible to signal degradation caused by external noise, ensuring more precise signal transmission. Accurate signal processing not only delivers high-resolution digital audio, but also maintains the soft texture inherent in analog recordings.
- 8-Ohm Power Rating: 30 watts x 2 channels @ 1kHz with 1% THD
- 4-Ohm Power Rating: 60 watts x 2 channels @ 1kHz with 1% THD
Twin Power Supply Circuit System: The design of the power supply is extremely critical in audio systems containing amplifiers, digital circuits and other such components. To eliminate any adverse effects on the amplifier, the SU-GX70 is equipped with a dedicated power supply for the power amplifier circuits that is independent from all other circuits. As such, the same electrolytic capacitors installed in high-end models have been used in the dedicated amplifier power supply and the power amplifier components.
- Further, by using the shortest possible connection between the power supply and the power amplifier, the SU-GX70 ensures low noise and low impedance. Elsewhere, the connections between the speakers and power amplifier use non-magnetic brass screws.
- The SU-GX70 uses a high-speed switching power supply of approximately 130 kHz. By increasing the switching frequency, noise interference on the music playback bandwidth is reduced. This enables highly responsive power supply for music signals and powerful speaker drive capability.
Load Adaptive Phase Calibration (LAPC): A power amplifier needs to drive speakers without being affected by the loudspeaker's characteristics, which can be difficult since speaker impedance changes with each frequency. Thus, Technics developed its own Load Adaptive Phase Calibration (LAPC), a speaker impedance adaptive optimization algorithm, that performs correction to the ideal impulse response through digital signal processing by measuring the frequency amplitude-phase characteristics of the amplifier with the speakers connected. This technique enables flattening of the frequency characteristics of amplitude and phase, which had previously not been achieved by most digital amplifiers, while also delivering a sound with rich spatial expression.
Discrete Amp Circuits: The discrete amp circuit used in the SU-GX70's analog input section has been designed specifically for the network audio amplifier and features a symmetrical layout with high-quality audio parts such as low-noise FETs, thin-film resistors, film capacitors, and electrolytic capacitors. As a result, your analog audio recordings sound natural with clarity and detail.
High Quality DAC: The Technics SU-GX70 network audio amplifier employs a high quality DAC (digital-to-analog converter) for its USB-B input, as well as its optical (toslink) and coaxial (RCA) digital inputs, plus its HDMI ARC jack. The internal DAC can support up to 32-bit/384kHz via USB, up to up to 24-bit/192kHz via Coaxial digital, and up to 24-bit/96kHz via Optical digital.
- MQA: The SU-GX70 includes MQA (Master Quality Authenticated) technology, which enables playback of MQA audio files and streams, delivering the sound of the original master recording. The built-in MQA decoder will restore the high-resolution signal heard in the studio and confirm it, using the authentication signature. "MQA" will be displayed on the front-panel LCD screen when MQA content is being played back.
- Other Supported Audio Formats: Other supported audio formats include LPCM, WAV, FLAC, DSD, AIFF, ALAC, AAC, and MP3.
Space Tune: The SU-GX70 is equipped with Technics' "Space Tune" function, which enables the adjustment of sound space according to the room environment and installation location, so that anyone in the room can enjoy excellent music reproduction. By using the Technics Audio Center app (for Apple iOS only) to measure your speakers' acoustic environment or by selecting one of four presets ("Free", "Wall", "Corner", or "In a Shelf") from the app according to your speakers' installation location, you can achieve the most suitable sound quality for a specific acoustic environment. Furthermore, the "L/R Custom" feature lets you enter the setting independently for the left and right speakers when the speakers are set up in different installation conditions. As a result, the SU-GX70 can bring out the best sound reproduction in practically any installation condition.
Pure Amplification Mode: In Pure Amplification Mode, shutting off the power supply to the network and HDMI circuits removes any noise from the device or antenna. This ensures music playback at the highest level of quality with even better clarity.
Tone Control: The SU-GX70 offers Bass & Treble control (-10 to +10), as well as Balance for the left and right speakers. Bass, Treble, and Balance affect the unit's speaker outputs, stereo preouts, and headphone output.
Speaker Outputs & Preouts: The Technics SU-GX70 network audio amplifier is equipped with speaker output terminals and a stereo RCA preout for different applications.
- Binding Post Terminals: The SU-GX70 is outfitted with sturdy, heavy-duty binding post speaker output terminals that will accept bare wire (up to 10AWG), pin-connectors, spade-lugs, or banana plugs (single only). You can connect a pair of 4 to 16 ohm loudspeakers.
- Stereo RCA Preout: The SU-GX70 also has a stereo RCA preout that allows you to connect an external power amplifier or powered subwoofer. The stereo RCA preout is full-range, so you'll need a powered sub with its own low-pass crossover filter.
Note: You can have sound output from both the integrated amp's binding post speaker output terminals and the stereo RCA preout at the same time. You can also turn-off the stereo RCA preouts or speaker outputs, so sound is only output from one of them (not both).
Front-Panel Headphone Jack: The SU-GX70 features a front-panel 1/4" headphone jack so you can connect a set of headphones and listen privately to your favorite music. When a set of headphone are connected, the SU-GX70's speaker outputs and preouts are deactivated.
FM Tuner: The Technics SU-GX70 is equipped with a built-in FM tuner with auto, manual and preset tuning. You can store up to 30 FM station presets.
Note: The unit does not offer an AM tuner.
Detachable AC Power Cord: The Technics SU-GX70 comes with a detachable 5' AC power cord (IEC 3-prong) that plugs into the back of the network audio amplifier and into an AC power outlet or surge protector/line-conditioner (sold separately).
Analog & Digital Source Inputs
Line-Level Inputs: The Technics SU-GX70 features two sets of stereo analog line-level RCA inputs. The stereo analog line-level RCA inputs can be used to connect a CD player or tape deck.

The HDMI ARC jack supports up to 24-bit/192khz stereo 2ch PCM audio.
- The HDMI ARC jack does not support Dolby Digital, DTS, or other multichannel audio formats.
- The unit's HDMI ARC jack only supports audio transmission. It does not transmit video signals.
