High-Quality Construction & Design: The Technics SL-G700M2 is divided into four sections inside the chassis with the power supply, digital interface, analog circuitry, and disk drive sections each being independent of one another. This suppresses mutual interference between circuits and reduces sound quality degradation. The disc drive adopts a 3-layer chassis configuration. Powerful vibration-damping and quiet construction, including a disc tray made of die-cast aluminum, ensures high-precision disc playback. The exterior features a hairline-finished 7mm-thick aluminum front panel and 1mm-thick aluminum side panels, as well as an engraved Technics logo for a high-grade design and finish.

High Precision D/A Conversion: The Technics SL-G700M2 delivers high precision coherent D/A conversion, which is the result of the accumulation of advanced audio technologies. The SL-G700M2 converts digital values to analog signals with the utmost accuracy before outputting them to an amplifier. It is composed of three elements including coherent processing; a high-performance D/A converter in dual monaural configuration; and a proprietary discrete amplifier circuit.

• Coherent Processing Technology: Technics' new proprietary coherent processing technology improves the reproduction of impulse signals by minimizing amplitude and phase deviations that occur throughout the D/A conversion process for signals up to 192kHz PCM using proprietary digital signal processing. With this processing, purity of the sound is increased, and the sound image is clearer. * DSD signals such as Super Audio CD are input directly to the DAC without performing this processing.
• Dual ESS ES9026PRO DAC: The SL-G700M2 adopts a new DAC chip - the dual ESS ES9026PRO. The symmetrical placement of one L/R unit on each side and their independent transmission structures reduce mutual interference and faithfully reproduce the sound image and musical space contained in the sound source.
• Proprietary Discrete Amplifier Circuit: The filter circuit after the D/A conversion uses an amplifier circuit with a unique discrete configuration instead of an operational amplifier IC. This renders even higher responsiveness and S/N, reproducing even the most subtle sounds.

Multi-Stage Silent Power Supply: Digital audio players that handle small signals require thorough noise suppression because even the slightest noise can significantly affect sound quality. The Multi-Stage Silent Power Supply provides thorough noise suppression in three stages - high-speed switching power supply, low-noise regulator, and current injection active noise canceling.

• High-Speed Switching: The SL-G700M2 uses a high-speed switching power supply of approximately 300kHz, which is also used for the analog circuits of Technics' SU-R1000 reference-class integrated amplifier. By increasing the switching frequency, the interference of noise on the music playback bandwidth is reduced and a highly responsive power supply is achieved.
• Low-Noise Regulator: The low-noise regulator provides low noise at high level and stable power supply are realized with the fine tuning of circuit patterns. Combined with the original stabilized power supply circuit, this dedicated power supply unit provides stable power with low noise. The discrete circuit structure is meticulous tuned to provide power optimized for analogue circuits, and does not use any general-purpose ICs.
• Current Injection Active Noise Canceling: This newly developed technology, Current Injection Active Noise Canceling removes unwanted noise components by applying an inverse phase current to the detected noise. More effective current noise rejection can be achieved by using the push/pull method in combination with conventional noise rejection by drawing current.

Disc Compatibility: The Technics SL-G700M2 Network/SACD Player supports playback of SACD, MQA-CD, CD-Audio, CD-R, and CD-RW discs (12 or 8 cm discs). CD-R and CD-RW discs must contain CD-Audio or MQA music files (not compatible with MP3, WMA, AAC, etc. music files).

• Super Audio CD: Super Audio CD use a technology called Direct Stream Digital (DSD) to convert music into a digital signal that can be stored on a disc. Compared to the traditional PCM method (the technology used for CD), DSD offers a much higher resolution by following more closely the original waveform of music. With a frequency response of over 100kHz and a dynamic range over 120dB across the audible frequency range (some 64x higher resolution then standard CD-Audio) Super Audio CD offers music reproduction that reveals details you just cannot hear on a normal CD.
• MQA: The SL-G700M2 includes MQA (Master Quality Authenticated) technology, which allows the player to recognize a MQA-CD and deliver the sound of the original master recording. The built-in MQA decoder will restore the high-resolution signal heard in the studio and confirm it, using the authentication signature.

Class AA Headphone Amp: The Technics Sl-G700M2 employs a class AA headphone amp and is equipped with a front-panel 1/4" headphone output jack for connection of a set of high-quality headphones, so you can listen privately and intimately to your music collection on CD/SACD, USB, Bluetooth, or Network.

Balanced & Unbalanced Outputs: The Technics SL-G700M2 Network/SACD Player is outfitted with balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA outputs. The balanced XLR connections guard against induced noise and allow long cable runs without compromising sound quality. The balanced and unbalanced analog outputs can be set to Fixed or Variable (-99 to 0 dB).

Optical & Coaxial Digital Outputs: In addition to the balanced and unbalanced analog outputs, the SL-G700M2 also offers optical (toslink) and coaxial (RCA) digital outputs. The optical digital output supports up to 24-bit/96kHz, while the coaxial digital output supports up to 24-bit/192kHz.

USB, Digital, & Bluetooth Sources

USB-B Port: The rear-panel asynchronous USB-B 2.0 port allows connection to a Windows PC or Mac computer for playback of your digital music library on your laptop or desktop computer through the Technics SL-G700M2. Supported music files include PCM (up to 32-bit/384kHz) and DSD (up to 11.2MHz)

• Windows Compatibility: Windows 8.1, 10, and 11 *Windows OS requires you to download and install a dedicated USB driver on your PC, as well as the dedicated Technics Audio Player app
• MacOS Compatibility: MacOS 10.12, 10.13, 10.14, 10.15, 11.11.1, 11.2, 11.3, 11.4, 11.5, 12.1, 12.2, and 12.3 *download and install dedicated Technics Audio Player app (no dedicated USB driver required)

Dual USB-A Ports: The Technics SL-G700M2 is equipped with a front-panel and rear-panel USB-A port for playback of a variety of compressed and Hi-Res music files stored on a USB MSC (mass storage class) device. A USB thumbdrive (512MB) can be connected to the front or rear USB port, while a USB HDD (up to 2TB) can be connected the rear-panel USB port. Compatible USB devices must be formated in FAT16, FAT32, or NTFS. It can recognize up to 800 music folders and 8000 music files. The front USB port (5V/0.5A) and rear USB-A port (5V/1A) can also be used to charge USB-enabled electronic devices, such as a smartphone. Compatible music files include -

Optical & Coaxial Digital Inputs: The SL-G700M2 is outfitted with one optical (toslink) digital input and one coaxial (RCA) digital input with support for 2ch PCM audio. The optical digital input supports up to 24-bit/96kHz, while the coaxial digital input supports up to 24-bit/192kHz.

Bluetooth Audio Streaming: Built-in Bluetooth 4.2 with support for wireless audio streaming (A2DP) and control (AVRCP) allows you to wirelessly stream audio from stored music, music apps, and other audio content from Bluetooth-enabled source devices (such as a smartphone, tablet, laptop, or computer) to the Technics SL-G700M2 Network/SACD player. The unit supports SBC and AAC Bluetooth codecs. You'll also be able to control basic playback functions (such as Play/Pause, Stop, and Skip) from the included remote or front-panel. You can pair multiple devices (up to 8) to the SL-G700M2, but only one can be connected and used for playback at a time. The unit will automatically connect to the last paired Bluetooth device when switching the input source to Bluetooth when the Bluetooth source is in wireless range (up to 33').

Network Integration

Wired or Wireless Network Connection: The Technics SL-G700M2 offers a wired (Ethernet) and wireless (WiFi) network connection. The SL-G700M2 is outfitted with a Ethernet (RJ45) jack for a hardwired connection to your network router. It also features dual-band 2.4/5GHz WiFi (802.11ac) for a wireless connection to your WiFi network router. A wired or wireless network provides access to online music services from Technics Audio Center App, Google Cast, and Apple AirPlay 2; as well as local digital music libraries stored on DLNA-compliant network devices.

Technics Audio Center App: The Technics Audio Center app (for (Apple iOS & Android OS) lets you access select online music services and internet radio, as well as and create a wireless multi-room audio system through multiple Technics Audio Center (TAC) app compatible devices. The Technics Audio Center app also provides access to the music stored on a connected DLNA-compatible server, content stored on the smartphone or tablet device running the app, and music files on a connected USB MSC devices or songs on CD, giving you integrated playback control.

• Online Music Services: The Technics Audio Center (TAC) app allows access and control of select Internet Radio and online music services such as Amazon Music (including HD), Tidal, Deezer, Qobuz, and TuneIn. You can create and choose from a number of favorite music playlists, radio stations and podcasts from TuneIn, Spotify, Amazon Music, Tidal, Qobuz, & Deezer.
• Multiroom Audio: If you have multiple compatible Technics Audio Center (TAC) app devices, you can create a wireless multiroom audio system that allows you to enjoy compatible online music service (listed above) and internet radio; as well the built-in disc player, Bluetooth & USB audio, plus analog & digital source inputs on the SL-G700M2 and other TAC app compatible devices (up to 6 total devices) in different rooms throughout your home. *AirPlay 2 and Google Cast are not supported since they are their own proprietary multiroom eco-system.

Spotify Connect: The integration of Spotify Connect will enable Spotify Premium users to instantly select and wirelessly stream music to the SL-G700M2 from within the Spotify app (Apple iOS or Android). Spotify is a digital music service that gives you on-demand access to one of the largest music libraries in the world. Spotify makes it easier than ever to discover, manage, and share music with your friends. You can browse music by artist, album, track, or most popular; and create your own music library with customized playlists.

Google Cast: Use the Google Home App (for Apple iOS and Android OS) to enable Google Cast. Google Cast gives you access to hundreds of online music streaming services, internet radio, and podcasts. Google Cast streams audio directly from the cloud, so you get the 24-bit/96kHz sound quality and the ability to enjoy crystal clear sound exactly the way the artist intended. Simply tap the Cast button from a Google Cast compatible music app on your Apple iOS or Android OS device to start streaming to the SL-G700M2. You can search, browse, play, skip, and turn up the volume directly from the music apps you know and love on your compatible smartphone or tablet. Google Cast supports FLAC, WAV, AAC, and MP3 music files. While you cast your music, you can still use your smartphone to answer a call, play a game, send a text, and even leave the room - all without interrupting what's playing on the Technics SL-G700M2.

• Music, Radio, & Podcasts: Google Cast lets you play music from popular music services and search by artist, song, genre, album playlist, mood, or activity. You can also listen to your favorite internet radio stations and podcasts. Compatible music and internet radio apps include Tidal, Spotify, Pandora, TuneIn, iHeart Radio, YouTube Music, and more (subscriptions and fees will apply). Click here for a complete list of Google Cast compatible apps. You'll also be able to stream your favorite music, playlists, podcasts, and more that are stored on your Android (OS 6.0+) device to the SL-G700M2. You cannot stream stored content on an Apple iOS device using Google Cast. If you're on your laptop or computer, you can also cast any music streaming website through the Chrome web browser to the network player.
• Multiroom Audio: Add more Google Cast speakers throughout your home (sold separately) to create a whole house audio experience. You can play the same Google Cast compatible music app (like Tidal, Spotify, or Pandora) on all speakers or groups of speakers in different rooms of your home. You'll be able control the multiroom audio system from the Google Home app on your Apple iOS or Android device, or using the Google Assistant and your voice on a compatible Google Home device.
• Voice Control (Optional): Purchase a Google Home wireless speaker (sold separately) and gain voice control of compatible Google Cast music apps. You'll be able to access a specific music app and then select a specific station or song using only your voice. You'll also have voice control over Play, Pause, Skip, & Volume. The Technics SL-G700M2 and your Google Home speaker must be connected to the same wireless (WiFi) network.

AirPlay 2: AirPlay 2 is an advanced and easy-to-use wireless multiroom audio platform for iTunes, Apple Music, and other compatible Apple iOS apps. With AirPlay 2 you can play any sound from your Apple iOS device (running iOS 11.4 or later) or Mac computer (running OS X 10.13.2) through the SL-G700M2 and other compatible AirPlay 2 products throughout your home. You can choose to play audio in one room, play the same audio in grouped rooms, or play the same audio in every room. If you are an Apple Music subscriber, you can even play different music in different rooms (you can control and group directly from Apple's Music App and Home app on your Apple iOS device). You will also be able to ask Siri-enabled devices (like your Apple iPhone, iPad, or Watch) to control playback of your Apple Music on the SL-G700M2 player. You can even watch videos and movies from YouTube and Netflix on your compatible Apple iOS device or Mac computer with perfectly synced audio on the Technics SL-G700M2 Network/SACD Player.

DLNA Compliant: The Technics SL-G700M2 is DLNA compliant for playback of various music files stored on your Windows PC (7-up) or DLNA-certified NAS drives connected to your home network. MAC OSX computers and laptops require third party software to be visible on the network (Twonky, Plex, Servio etc.) as they do not support DLNA.

Display & Controls

Front-Panel LCD & Controls: The front-panel LCD indicates input source (including song/artist/album information), playback status, and menu settings. Front-panel playback controls include Power On/Off, Input Selector, Volume Up/Down, Play/Pause, Stop, and Previous/Next Track,

IR Remote: The included IR remote provides wireless operation of the SL-G700M2 Network/SACD Player. However, you'll also need a compatible Apple iOS or Android OS device with supported applications for complete control of the unit.

Control Input: The Technics SL-G700M2 features a rear-panel Control Input that consists of a 3.5mm jack. You can operate the SL-G700M2 and other Technics components (such as an integrated amplifier) that also supports the system control function simultaneously from one remote control.

Favorites: You can register your favorite station, music, or playlist from USB-A ports, DLNA, Internet Radio, Spotify, Tidal, Deezer, Qobuz, and other online music services for easier and quicker access. You can register up to 9 favorite stations or playlists.

Sleep Timer: The Sleep Timer can turn the unit to standby mode automatically after a set time (30, or 60, 90, or 120 minutes).

Auto Off: This unit will automatically enter standby mode if there is no sound output and operation for approximately 20 minutes.
