Added bluetooth to my Voyager

I really enjoy this product. I have been looking for something to add bluetooth functionality to my kawasaki voyager without having to change out the radio and adding an amp. This product did the trick. All I had to add was a wire connector for the power and 3.5 to RCA splitter. Now blue tooth turns on and off with the bike and connects to my phone with no problem.
Pros: No button to push to turn on the device. Come on when you start the vehicle and shuts off with vehicle. Does not drain your battery. Can be easily modified to work with any application. Compact and easy to conceal. Works as described.

Works great... when it works :( Good sound quality and easy install. However, about half the time, and almost every time after cycling power (turning car off to get gas or anything else) it will be totally unresponsive. Unfortunately this means it only functions on about 20% of trips. Huge bummer as it's installed behind my dash now, but Crutchfield's awesome customer service has another one on it's way

Very easy install on a 20 year old Clarion Stereo. Quality is awesome, no distortion in the music and works from an acceptable distance of at least 25 feet. Very satisfied.

No hassel return and replacement

I initially purchased an open box MBT-RX from Crutchfield Outlet. When I installed the MBT-RX on my boat, it did not work. I then notified Crutchfield and they immediately sent a NEW MBT-RX. The replacement receiver works great. No hassle return and replacement! Super easy! Great company and great customer service!

Very easy to install and use for my build, SMD DD1 shows clean signal at full volume which is great having full range of volume. The length of wire for RCA is great install where i want and not where it will fit. Definitely recommend to anyone wanting to add Bluetooth or do a head unit-less install like i did for my classic car.

I installed this product on a 1949 Hudson Super Six radio that had been converted to AM/FM many years earlier. The upgraded radio had jacks that allowed auxiliary systems to be played through the radio's speakers. All I did was wire this unit so that once the ignition was switched on, all I had to do was pair it to my cell phone. Once I pick a streaming service on the phone, the radio switches over and the sound is fantastic. I can control the volume with either my phone or the radio dial. Good product.

AptX, Bluetooth 4.0. Doesn't make sense, but I swear I get better quality from this unit plugged into my Pioneer's RCA inputs than the Aux input on the front. I was using the official Google Pixel 3.5" adapter that came with my Pixel 4a, plugged into the 3.5mm input on the front of the deck.

The piece works great, but my head unit only had preamp outputs for the rear speakers, so that's the only place I was getting sound. Removed and bought a new head unit with Bluetooth built in. Great customer service from crutchfield tho!!

Very Happy with this product. Used it in place of a head unit to feed a Rockford T400 amp. I used a push button switch to turn it on and off with the amp and unit powered together. Bluetooth range is substantial and output is little to no distortion as advertised by the company. I do wish the pre-amp output was a little more than 2 but that may be asking for too much!

I purchased this item to add bluetooth to my HOME stereo, after seeing a Youtube video . I bought a 12 volt wall transformer designed for a CCTV camera that came with an adapter to connect the power leads. After hooking the two up I simply plugged the RCA's into my amp, paired my phone and now i can play my music through my old school stereo!

Umps Umps!!! Sooooo happy With my device!!! Cables begone.easy install, superb sound, quick connectivity and best of all powerful device discovery!! I installed this device in my 2005 Benz SLK 350.then I tucked it in this little nook behind the glove compartment.my only complaint, it should have come with an additional fuse.or two. I burned 2 trying to figure out the ground from the positive wire.aside from that.10 thumbs up!! Just note that basic electronic configuration is highly advised.

Cons: It would help if 2 more fuses were shipped along. I burned 2 during installation. 2 amps are really hard to find.

Hats off to this. it's the most expensive Bluetooth transmitter I ever bought but I figure I try it because I upgrade and spend a lot of money on my car system, with that said, it gives a very clear audio and transmit louder with no buzzing or noise and the connection is the quickest. as soon as I hit the switch to turn on my system, I hear the beep and my phone connects, so I give this a 5 star ++++++

Like most things from JL Audio, the quality is great. I was concerned that the economical price was a sign of the performance/quality, but it just happens to be a great deal. Super easy to install and link to your Bluetooth broadcasting device. Given that it was made for marine use I opted to use this particular device on my motorcycle, worked out perfectly. The only strange thing I noticed was when it links to your device it automatically turns the volume down on your device, normally once this happens and you turn it back up, it stays that way but when you cycle power it goes back to half volume. Not a big deal just an observation, since my other Bluetooth electronics don't do that I thought I'd mention it.
Pros: Easy to wire hookup, provided inline fuse. Waterproof and convenient for all your Marine, Motorcycle and off-road needs.
Cons: Doesn't hold volume configuration on transmitting device.

I have a 05 C6 Corvette that didn't have Bluetooth but hardly gets driven so I used this to change the Xm Radio to Bluetooth. Works great and is crystal clear!! Now no Xm fee for a car that mostly sits but I can play all my music now!??

This will be my 2nd order of the JL Audio MBT-RX Bluetooth device. First one lasted over 2 years. I was kind disappointed that I had to buy another one because mine just stopped working. But it is electronic and it was only $40, but I put my first one thru the ringer with my 2000 watt stereo. So, it is what it is. I purchased the 2nd one because, I got my bang for my buck, and I'll keep doing it again. Never let me down, always connected, never any problems until it just quit, with no warning. Product itself, very happy with it. Thanks Crutchfield. 2 year warranty for a reason. And it's done a great job for me.

The product worked as expected. It was acquired as a temporary solution to bypass a car's OEM head unit. Unfortunately, the phone would not totally mute the sound, so it was not a viable solution. That is because of the phone, not because of this device. No worries though, because I plan to use this with the sound system in the garage. It is an older HTIB system with no Bluetooth, and this will be a great addition. A Logitec Bluetooth device was previously used in the garage, but it recently died after about 1 year of casual use :(.

The best replacement for aux cords

Installed the JL MBT-RX into my 2004 Acura TSX which already had a USA-Spec Honda Aux adapter for the radio. I was tired of the Aux cords in the car and my new phone doesn't have an aux jack anymore so I had to upgrade. The JL receiver came with a long, maybe 3 foot, RCA cable which allowed me to easily install the receiver near the drivers side under dash fuse box where I tapped into the switched amplifier circuit for power using an add-a-fuse and then an existing location on the fire wall for the receivers ground. Note that the power lead on the receiver has an in-line 2.5 amp fuse. I couldn't find a 2.5 amp fuse to match for my add-a-fuse circuit so I used a 2 amp to be safe not to pop the in-line 2.5 amp fuse. The receiver is not affected by the .5 amp difference. I mounted the receiver securely with a couple of zipties for easy removal instead of the supplied 3M mounting tape. Even with the receiver tucked far away on the drivers side I had plenty of RCA cable to run neatly and securely under the dash to behind the radio for the aux input which accepts RCAs. The sound quality and volume is extremely good and I have ZERO alternator/ engine whine coming through the speakers so I didn't have to use any in-line ground loop isolators with the install. My phone auto connects to the receiver within seconds and media pauses when the car is turned off as well. Overall my installation was easy and the receiver works really well.

The Bluetooth connectivity works well, connecting is simple. The RCA audio conectors are of a great quality, not cheap feeling at all. I like that there is a fuse to protect the device. Definitely a nice addition to my 1955 Chevy truck so I can have wireless connectivity to my retro stereo that was previously installed by prior owner. Just for me to buy a vintage fitting stereo for my truck that had Bluetooth I would have spent $300, this was a much cheaper option with almost the same end results.

Works EXCELLENT. I took my newish Kenwood with built in Bluetooth out because the Bluetooth was terrible. I put my old school Pioneer head unit back in with this unit to give me Bluetooth on my old Pioneer. This Bluetooth unit connects FAST, and it connects every time! With the AptX connection, it even actually sounds pretty good. I'm very hard to please, as I hate Bluetooth, but phones don't have headphone ports anymore so I was forced to submit.
Pros: Very fast connection, AptX, stable.
Cons: Wish it had even a simple controller. Just a play/pause, forward/back that could be mounted somewhere so you don't have to use your phone every time. Other adapters have this but they don't have AptX, which was more important to me.

This unit had excellent sound quality. It rivaled my wired connection into my system. None of the other Bluetooth adapters I tried could come close to the sound quality so I was very pleased. However, I had a lot of engine noise but that is dependent on the ground connection and the car so you may not experience the same. This is not necessarily a problem with this Bluetooth receiver just electrical noise in cars in general. If you can wire it to where you don't get electrical noise maybe by using a ground loop isolator, this is going to be your best bet in terms of sound quality, but I couldn't eliminate the alternator whine so I had to return it..

Had a little trouble installing because there was as no remote turn on wire. Called Crutchfield and we figured a solution. This Bluetooth is so simple to use. It automatically connects too easy. Replaced a wet sounds Bluetooth that was slow to connect and music would come in and out at times. Not anymore. Cheap and easy.

Awesome product, works great! I have to admit, I wouldn't have gotten it working if it wasn't for the awesome customer service from Crutchfield though. I had everything hooked up correctly but had overlooked the small remote wire that was needed. Once they walked me through everything, we caught on to that issue and this Bluetooth dongle works flawlessly. The only bad review I've read is the loud beep when it connects to your phone. I realized the gain was set from the factory at max. I dialed it back to about halfway and now the beep is negligible. Very good product!

Works great! Had it wired to open switch on dash so receives constant power so it doesn't disconnect from phone when boat is turned off. Otherwise if not fed constant power will disconnect/reconnect every time boat is turned on/off. I would definitely recommend this product!!

Product works perfectly, just as described. On a side note, I had to call Crutchfield Tech support early on as I was getting extremely bad static and feedback through the freshly installed JL Bluetooth RCA line. My representative helped troubleshoot and when we concluded that everything was installed correctly, she said it must be excessive ground/engine noise from my boat that was the issue. She said that I needed a ground loop isolator, ( Crutchfield item PAC SNI -1). She told me that this was a rare issue that this was needed, and told me she was sending me out two of these at no charge. I was fully prepared to pay for the extra item, but she never once asked, and said that Crutchfield would take care of this, (even though it was in no way their fault). I received the items in just two days, and they fixed the problem within 10 seconds of installation. This type of customer service is almost impossible to find in this day and time, and is the main reason that I have, and will continue to purchase from this superior company. Thank you Crutchfield.

Easy to install. Works as advertised. I put it on a switch on my boat that controls LED lights. When this switch is on, even when ignition key is in off position the Bluetooth remains connected to my phone. So when I switch ignition key to accessory position, as soon as head unit powers back up the music starts immediately. So this works better than when Bluetooth is part of head unit or like how it works in your car! You always have to wait for Bluetooth/head unit to reconnect. The LED lights have a remote so I can still control them independently (I.e. they can be turned off during the day, with Bluetooth still on).
Pros: Easy install. Works as advertised. Seems rugged if mounted correctly. Price seems reasonable. I saved at least $500 since I only needed new head unit to get Bluetooth. Can still use my Clarion CMD4 and remote since the Bluetooth source is now the Aux. plus have advantage that Bluetooth doesn't switch off with head unit. See above.
Cons: None so far. Just keep in mind that to pause and advance songs this will need to be done by your phone. The mute will still work on head unit but the song keeps playing.
