I purchased two of these 8s 12 years ago. I wanted big bass but had little room in my 04 F-150. The guys suggested this and said they installed one in a Ferrari the day before so, I said if ones good for a Ferrari than two should be good for my F-150. I used to run two JL 250/1 amps one to each and just recently given the covid pandemic and needing a project I had them rebuilt from a guy in Wisconsin since JL told me they don't do that anymore. I now run two JL audio 500/1s one to each and most ppl think I'm running two 10s or two 12s. My neighbor has informed me they shake his house and all the other neighbors think they're too loud, I could not be happier. These woofers are not only amazing in sound but they're completely rebuildable. I swear by these woofers and will never get rid of them. I will hand these down to my kids and hopefully they'll do the same. This review does my feelings towards this woofer no justice. Might leave another review so I can give it 10 stars. lol
Pros: Loud, clean, rebuildable, and worth every penny.
Cons: None at all.

Nice little Eight
Crutchfield customer from Concord, NC on 7/21/2019
Very easy to install, if you can follow instructions. Sounds very nice, deep, and clean. Will hit hard inside vehicle, won't rattle other cars, but you can hear it inside building when your near them so I'm told. If you need sound deadening kilmat from Amazon. It works great for stopping bass from rattling car and keeps sound in. Not good for road noise tho.
Pros: Deep lows, clean sounding bass, cheap for great sound
Cons: None

Got 2 with xd1000 and sound quality is amazing! Wont go wrong with these! Wouldnt expect an 8" to hit so hard and carry like these do. Definitely worth the cash, very impressed!
Pros: Sound quality, durable, hits hard
Cons: None at all!

Holy smokes these things sound great
Eric T. from Mount Vernon, OH on 6/5/2017
I have two in series in an equinox. I'm hearing low notes I didn't know were there. Tight, accurate, amazing. I get more thump out of another cab with a 10" with lower impedance which pushes more power out of the amp I'm using but I love the tone and response of these. Like that other guy said "no going back"
Pros: best all around tone I ever herd
Cons: two in a cabinet will give you a hernia trying to move it.

Great Sub For Tight Spaces
The Root from Southern, CA on 4/12/2012
I purchased this subwoofer for an install in my 82 Benz 300d. Some things that I wanted was to maintain as much trunk space as possible, and be able to get to the spare tire if need be. Also wanted to ensure that I had great bass, with minimal space. JL Audio has a reputation for building their products, and this little gem is no exception. I put in a sealed box built to JL Audio specs and mounted it under the 1st Aid Kit opening. Powered it with a JL Audio 500/1 amplifier, set the gain per JL specs and really was blown away by the amount of clean tight bass this subwoofer puts out. Granted it isn't the roll down the street, shaking windows kind of bass, but it is clean, tight and accurate. Just what I was looking for. For more detailed specs on the install check out my posting on BenzWorld.org .
Pros: Accurate, Clean and Tight. Relatively small sealed box takes up minimal footprint in your trunk.
Cons: Somewhat Expensive, but you get what you pay for.

Almost TOO much
geoffsdad from Albuquerque, NM on 8/20/2011
I have this sub in a JL Audio Stealthbox in my 2010 Toyota Tundra Doublecab. The amount of bass it creates is AMAZING. I have it pushed by a JL 600 watt class D mono amp and it's not only loud but tuneful as well. None of that one-note booming bass the low-downers roll up with. This goes loud but accurately as well. My best car stereo purchase EVER. I'm thinking of another one for my Scion xB even though there is room for a much bigger sub.
