It really beats like a Champ Big Sound for a Small Box I've seen much bigger boxes and much less sound. These are serious and Great At the current state for powered speaker subwoofer boxes. These are all the best. Better than if you did it yourself. I cant find better anywhere right now.

Features

Overview: The ACP112LG-TW1 MicroSub+ is a compact powered subwoofer, useful in vehicles with limited space. The ported enclosure is loaded with one 12TW1-0.25 12" low impedance subwoofer (0.25Ω) and a 400 watt RMS class-D amplifier. The amp uses JL Audio's exclusive DCD amplifier technology, combining direct power conversion (no conventional switching power supply) with an ultra-high current output section. The result is an efficient design (91-94%) with very little heat generated.

Enclosure Design: The enclosure features MDF (medium-density fiberboard), constructed using CNC woodworking equipment, and covered with high-grade automotive carpeting. The driver is protected by a black steel-mesh grille. The port and amplifier panel are both on the same side of the enclosure.

Flared Port: The enclosure has a side-firing flared slot-port. The flared slot-port design minimizes turbulence and improves fidelity.

Power/Ground Plug: The power, ground, and remote turn-on wires attach to a removable terminal block; easily unplugged so the subwoofer can be removed when you need more storage space. Each terminal is a screw clamp that will accept up to 8 gauge wire (minimum 8 gauge power and ground recommend).

Audio Inputs: The amplifier section will accept either a line level (RCA) or speaker level signal. A 12" speaker level input harness is included.

Remote Level Control: An optional RBC-1 wired Remote Bass Control (item number 136RBC1, sold separately) allows bass level adjustment from the front of your vehicle.

Controls:

  • Input Sensitivity: rotary control; variable from 70 mV to 1.4 V for the RCA inputs and 280 mV to 5.4 V for the speaker level inputs
  • Turn-On Mode: three position switch:
    • REM: amp turns on when +12 volts DC is applied to the remote terminal
    • DC: the amp turns on when a DC offset voltage is detected on the speaker level inputs
    • Signal: the amp turns on when an audio signal is detected on the speaker level inputs, turns off after 30 seconds without an input signal
  • Crossover: rotary control; the crossover point is continuously variable from 50 Hz to 200 Hz; the slope is 12 dB/octave and the low-pass crossover is always engaged
  • Polarity: two position switch; allows you to reverse the phase of the subwoofer (0°, 180°)

Protection Circuit: The amp is equipped with thermal protection circuit; it will shut down if it overheats.

Will the amp built in it correct the dreaded bass roll off the a 2022 mazda cx-5 Bose package does? Or will I need to add a bass restorer? Or a DSP?

Hey Chris, the amp on board does not have roll-off correction or anything handy to help it with the Bose system in that Mazda. Can this be installed laying on its "back" with the sub facing up? Will that affect life or performance of the unit?

Greetings Tom. Thank you for your question. Moving the subwoofer or changing the direction of the subwoofer will change the way it sounds slightly. For the most part baas frequencies are omni directional. Laying this on its back side will not impede performance because the port is on the side of the enclosure.

I haven't received my 12 inch yet , I do have similar powered 10 from jl but never mess with the controls just leave them like techs set up

At any frequency it seems to plays with great clarity and bass. I keep my set on 90 Frequency and fine tune it with all the other speakers using a Rockford Fosgate DSR1. The gain or input sensitivity is set at the 5 o'clock position. If you wanted to buy two of these, you only need one Remote Level control cord. Link it using a old school telephone cord splitter and use two separate telephone cords to each sub; it works in my system. Hope this info helps.

Had this professionally installed in my 2014 jeep grand cherokee overland. When installed was set to lowest gain and tuned. Has JL remote bass knob installed witch was never turned up more than 3/4 . Ran for about 2 months and the speaker just blew. Why would it blow so fast ?

Ive had mine for a little over a year and turn it up as much as sonically pleasing as i can so its not a bad product. You either got a dud or was installed incorrectly, thats why i only install hardware myself. Since its a built-in amp it shouldve been a good match with the sub. The only thing i could think of was that it was the wrong guage wire running to the battery. But i think theres a 1 year with the sub. Might wanna check that out.

If you lay the JL box down it should. I have a 1997 Buick Riviera which has a pretty small trunk. I ended up laying the box down at the very back of the trunk and I still have enough room to get groceries with no problem. You should be impressed with the sound that the sub produces it sounds very good in my trunk! I can only imagine in an open truck cab

Will this outperform the ACP208LG-W3v3? Which will hit harder and deeper the single 12 TW1 at 400w or the dual 8 W3v3 at 250w each. I currently have the twin 8 but thinking to swap for the 12.

This is a single subwoofer. MicroSub+ simply refers to the smaller size of the enclosure.
