I've tried several boat speakers over the years, and countless head units. Jl audio and fusion are really the only way to go to not just save money in the long run, but time and aggravation. Crutchfield's lightning fast shipping, and amazing customer service, is truly 2nd to none. sometimes you can find a cheaper price elsewhere, but you wont get the prompt and reliable service you get here. I have been a long time customer and will continue to be one. Thanks crutchfield!

Upgraded our sailboat's old and undersized speakers. Can't go wrong with JL Audio or Crutchfield. Install was simple. Everything except for a new, larger hole saw was in the box.

From the reviews I know these would be a big upgrade from my Outrage 280 stock speakers, but it even exceeded those high expectations. Amazing difference, clarity, no distortion at much higher volume than the stock speakers and sensitivity is great as I drive these just with the Clarion head unit and plays louder at lower volume levels. The hype is real.

Major improvement over the stock speakers in my boat. They were easy to fit into the space and wire up. I had them installed in under 30 minutes. The sound quality is amazing even just powered by the stock head unit. They are incredibly clear even at high volumes. I highly recommend them!

Simply amazing! Was seriously torn between the M3 and M6, although finally went with the M3's. No way possible you will be disappointed in the M3's speaker quality. Quality and price point cannot be beat.
Pros: Great sound and price point.
Cons: Need to drill 6 mounting holes. Need to be very precise or you will mark/scuff the speaker mounting hole. Don't really care for the JL logo on speaker face. Makes lining up harder and feel takes away from the nice grill design. Trust me, people will know it's a JL by the way they sound.

Speakers sound so much better than the Fusion ones that were previously installed (they came with the boat, so no idea of what they sounded like when new). Easy install and very high quality. Make sure you get an amp, these babies can handle it!

Very simple install and replacement of original equipment from 2004. Outstanding clarity and performance. Couldn't be more pleased with product and service from Crutchfield.

Cons: Not truly a con, but in my situation, the speakers were about twice as deep as the originals and now rest against the hull of the boat but produces no problems.

love the speakers till one got wet and it fried my $1200 amp in my 06 mastercraft all installed by good vibrations in Hutchinson ks they did an amazing job

These were installed in a 1999 Mastercraft Prostar 205. They replaced a functioning set of Clarion speakers that were in the boat for 20 years or so. The sound is amazing. The old speakers had a cold and tinny sound. The new JL's are warm and full. I love them! Thanks for the recommendation Crutchfield!

Wow. I replaced two decent infinity speakers in my speaker chest with these. The sound is much clearer and blasts further (voice). Sound is well balanced. I plan to switch out the other two with these in the future.

Installed 2 of these on my 20 foot center console boat. Even at 40 miles an hour I can easily hear the music. I am powering them with a 17 watt per channel head so I wasn't sure if that would be the case. I thought I might have to buy an amp and a sub woofer to hear the music but I think I'll stick with this setup for now.
Pros: Good clear sound.

Jayco Travel Trailer Stock Speaker Replacements

These JL 6 1/2" speakers replaced the stock Jayco travel trailer interior in-ceiling speakers as direct fit replacements. The main reason I bought the M3-650s was to replace the two blown-out exterior wall speakers. I had to cut the exterior holes just a little larger; there was plenty of room - one behind the microwave and the other inside a cabinet. ...will also have to make the piece on the inside of the cabinet that protects the speaker a touch larger as well. I'm using the stock Jenson radio without an amp and the interior speakers sound a bit better, and the exterior speakers are loads better. Without playing them loudly, the stock radio seems fine - really appreciate the sound quality. Mostly used for boon docking, so conscious of energy consumption. If I used the radio more, I'd consider the JL 8" sub and a marine grade amp to use for the radio's unused "B" zone so that I could turn it on when not worried about running a battery down.
Pros: Sound quality Well built Watertight Far better looking than stock Interior direct-fit
Cons: Needed to cut a slightly larger hole in the exterior wall to replace the stock units - very worth it!

Can't go wrong with JL Audio speakers. I replaced a set of Fusion 6.5" speakers with these. Clearer high frequencies, better low frequencies, and wider sweet spot than the Fusions. Even without an external amp, they sound pretty good. Add an amp, and I expect they'll really come to life!

Boat Speakers

I bought four of these speakers to replace the speakers that came with my boat when I bought it new. Installation was easy. Just removed old speakers drilled new holes since holes in new speakers did not line up with old ones, installed new speakers and then turned on the stereo and the sound from the new speakers was/is fantastic.
Pros: Easy to follow instructions for installation. Great sounding speakers
Cons: Had to replace female wiring connectors as the male connectors on new speakers were different size. But, no big deal to change.
