Features
Marine Tested: JL Audio's marine speakers are tested in ultraviolet chambers to simulate years of sun exposure, and salt fog chambers to simulate years of exposure to salt-water environments.
10" Subwoofer: The subwoofer cone is made of injection-molded, mica-filled polypropylene with UV inhibitors and a synthetic rubber surround. The precisely engineered dust cap profile helps smooth the upper-end response. The subwoofer uses a marine-grade synthetic fiber spider with a progressive roll design and a vented motor structure with a marine grade stainless steel rear diffuser plate.
Power Handling: The 4-ohm JL Audio subwoofer can handle between 75 and 250 watts RMS.
DMA (Dynamic Motor Analysis): DMA is JL Audio's proprietary method of improving dynamic motor behavior. The DMA-optimized long-excursion design enhances output, bass extension and power handling of the speaker.
Basket & Grille: The speaker basket is UV-resistant polymer that encapsulate the woofers' motor systems to prevent corrosion. A metal mesh Luxe-style grille is included that magnetically mounts to the front of the speaker.
Infinite-Baffle Operation: The subwoofer is optimized for infinite-baffle operation so it can be installed in a variety of locations, without the need for a dedicated enclosure.
Enclosure: If mounting in an enclosure, JL Audio recommends a 2 ft³ sealed or 2.5 ft³ ported enclosure. The ported enclosure requires a port tube 4.0" in diameter and 13.50" long.

I recently purchased 2 of these subs. Currently running them on a 800 watt mono block amp. Sounds great even at high speed. Plenty loud enough for me. Great job jl audio. Really keeps up with the 8 6.5 speakers on my boat.
