Clean sound comes out of this one. I haven't bought a new 4 channel amp sinch the MTX Thunder Prizm EFX was released, kept having issues with the variable crossover from 1v-10v getting stuck. The JL gives plenty of power to my system.

Adequate sound quality

This amp has very good specs for the money, and sound quality and onboard controls are very good as well. The size is smaller than average for the power ratings, and has a nice look to it with metal finish and small light up display. My one complaint is that it does run fairly hot, probably due to small enclosure, have it mounted properly in a ventilated space, and am not near max rms wattage. This has not led to protection mode or any issues I can tell so far and could be normal, but it is slightly odd. Overall pleased with this amp after almost 2 months installed. Powering a set of focal flax fxe biamped.

Good Affordable Amp

This amp is not the most powerful but for the price is a good buy, if you're like me who upgraded the radio and speakers to something better than factory and need an amp to go with it this one is a great choice easy to set and connect and for a DIY that doesn't have a clipping measurement tool like me what JL did with this amp by integrating a switch light that tells you if the sound is clipping is just the best.

Clean power

Clean power in a small footprint. Using to drive a pair of tweeters and coax's in front doors wired in parallel with the 2 front channels. HPF set at 80 hz. Still trying to decide on rear speakers- looking at some kicker 8" DVC subs which this amp could drive 100w per channel. Still undecided, I may just go with some coax's in rear doors to retain fader control and go with a dedicated sub amp. Love the clipping light indicator- very easy matching source output. Great power from little amp

I was looking for something small but capable of outputting good power for my newly purchased polk speakers and this one is perfect. I was originally looking to hide this amp somewhere in my dashboard on my 2020 Nissan Sentra, but I didn't realize how much space I didn't have. Instead, I ended up installing this amp using rivet nuts under the driver seat, underneath the carpet. There's a perfectly sized compartment for this speaker there.

Great little amp

I had this professionally installed in a 2016 F-150 SCab ~6 months ago. Its powering 6x9 JL Audio triax C2's in the front doors and 6.5 coax C2's in the rear doors and it has been great so far. Its powerful enough to do damage to your hearing if you choose that route. I open it up when on a long ride, but not around town because it can be too loud. The clarity is very nice with the system I have. I have had no overheating or clipping issues or any other failures yet...as I would hope to be the case since its only been running for half a year. There are cheaper options than JL Audio, but I have been a fan of theirs since the 90's. If I'd had my eyes open a little wider, I would have gotten a 5 channel so I could set up a sub as well, but I am very pleased so far.

Great Customer Service and Products

JL Audio has the best products. I'm getting the items needed for an install in my Grandson's truck, a beautiful 2007 Chevy Silverado SS extended cab, but it's a bit tight on space. This amp will deliver 75 watts to his front and rear speakers, components in the front and 4 X 6's in the rear. I will be doing the install for him adding 2 12" subs in custom enclosure with a 1500 watt amp. Great little amp. Had a kicker cxa360.4 and returned it for this. It's class D, so smaller footprint and better power efficiency, aka smaller load on your vehicles electrical system vs class AB. Very loud and clean power, zero clipping from the amp. Pushes focal auditor 6x9s perfectly.

I have this amp powering a set of C-3's and a set of C-2's. I am more than happy with the performance. Both sets of speakers play to full volume with zero distortion. I also have the 1000 watt counterpart powering 2 JL subs and neither amp gets hot even though they are under the back seat where air flow is minimal. Zero noise and hi fidelity at an affordable price. That combination is tough to beat

The JD line of amps from JL AUDIO doesn't disappoint. I have 2 jd250/1 amps running 4 jl audio 8" woofers and the jd 400/4 runs my mids and bight and keeps up perfectly in my 2017 ram pickup. I have this amp powering the four speakers in my car (two up front, two rear), sending them all a full range signal with no crossover filtering. It delivers solid, clean power for my setup and I couldn't be happier. With the adapters to convert speaker wires to the RCA inputs, install was a snap. The option to have it powered by sensing signals on the input is very nice as well; no need to run an additional wire to turn on the amp. Would highly recommend.

Worked perfectly to utilize my factory head unit and upgrade the speakers in my S550 Mustang. I used this with a LOC and linked it with the JD 250/1 for my JL Audio 10" bass sub with sealed enclosure from Zenclosures. (Really makes a difference without changing the head unit.) I had a base/crap head unit and did not want to lose everything linked to it (steering wheel controls, etc.), so I tried this first. Very glad I did it this way now. The factory unit now sounds like a $1,500.00 unit without all the hassle changing it out. I'm a metal & rock guy, no need for boom, boom.

Very nice. Currently powering Polk components up front and Polk coaxial int the back. Running JBL powered sub also so have Amp set for high pass at 80hz. Great, clear sound, with plenty of power. Enough adjustments to meet most set-ups.

I have the JD 400/4 in my 13 Altima powering a component set of JL C2-650 in the front door and dash with a coaxial set of JL C2-650x in the rear. The sound coming from the front is so crisp, clear, and loud. You can really feel the power compared to running speakers off an aftermarket head unit. My front stage really came alive!

I was reading in the reviews and I knoticed one review that stood out it is someone saying failed amp after 30 days and how it was so hard setting the gains to keep from having distortion, let me say this for no other reason than to give credit to a company that I fully believe puts more into their products in my opinion than most out their....this isn't a cut rate product or one you can't count on, and I can say that with over twenty years of instalations and also many of my personal autos that I in the end put jl audio in over every other line we carried at our store. I have abused almost every brand out there overpowered beyond the ratings on most in spl competition and can attest that jl audio is not a failing product it's more along the lines of failed installers. Sorry guys but this is true facts. As far as the service at Crutchfield I can say I have never had any problems with them either you get treated the same way you treat other people usually....these two company's are not much different besides Crutchfield has great prices on great products and jl audio builds only quality equipment that you can bet DO NOT usually fail on their own, it takes human interaction to burn up or blow products. A+ Crutchfield service and a+ jl audio products and I do mean all from amps to woofers they are top notch top of the line and top of the sound industry in my book...for what it's worth you guys are appreciated greatly.

Solid amp

So far so good, I connected this amplifier to my stock head unit and am using the high level inputs. I had an issue with noise coming through, specifically hiss and clicking that corresponded with speed(NOT rpm). I corrected this using isolation transformers on the inputs but I still have some quiet "air" in the system as long as there is any non-zero volume setting on my head unit. If I turn the head unit to "zero" the noise immediately silences. I will add the last star if I determine this to be related to my install or the head unit and not a fault of the amplifier. The amplifier sounds good and delivers ample power to my new component speakers. I purchased (2) Kicker 43DSC6504's and (2) Kicker 43DSC69304's for this install. The amplifier is easily capable of bottoming them out even with high pass settings set well above what the speakers are "rated" for. I used the stock wiring and located the amplifier beneath the front passenger seat. I am surprised about how hot the amplifier gets at low listening volume but since this is my first install I am not sure if that is normal. I mounted it on 1/4" MDF with free air all around and 1/8" of space beneath the amplifier so I believe it to have ample airflow.

Rich sound

I am using this to power the Infinity primas door speakers in my 1999 Ford super duty extended cab. This amplifier definitely powers the speakers much better than my Kenwood head unit did prior to installing the amp. I now get a much more full and balanced sound across the spectrum. The sound is clear and non distorted. It is also much louder now than before and i don't have to turn up the volume to get good sounds. It is easy to tune and adjust the gain and HP/LP filters. My only concern is that the amplifier does get pretty warm to the touch after a couple hours of listening. This has not caused any failures or issues yet. I also cannot speak more highly of Crutchfield's customer support. While building my sound system, I had to swap several components due to space constraints and breeding to match speaker rms rating to amplifier rms rating. Crutchfield was always quick to answer the phone when I needed them and allowed exchanges no questions asked. I definitely recommend getting your car audio equipment from Crutchfield as they're prices are competitive and customer service is unbeatable.
