Overall good amp but not what I expected

I have a XD600/6 (old version) and channels 2 and 4 died. I thought I would replace it with the XD600/6v2, and I did. However, I am not as happy with the v2 version as the original. The original XD600/6 had no issues for many years until the channels went out. I just bolted in place the new V2 and it bolted right in place. However, I am having a few issues. With the new v2 there is a pop in the speakers on channel 1 every time the audio signal goes to zero, like when volume is turned to zero or one song ends but before the next starts. The old version did not have this issue and I used the exact same wiring and everything with the new V2 amp as the original XD600/6. Also noticed that I had to change settings on the new V2 from the original old XD600/6. I had to put full gain in 4 channels to get the same sound level out of the V2 amp as compared to slightly lower levels needed by the original XD600/6. I had to increase the DB boost on my head unit to the sub to get the same sound levels out of my sub as compared to the old XD600/6. Over all its a good amp and I like it but based on how much I liked the XD600/6 I expected better from the XD600/6v2. It fell a bit short of my expectations.

Noise free!

This amplifier replaced an older failing Kicker 5 channel amplifier. The Kicker amplifier always picked up electrical noise from what I believe was the fuel pump circuit. With no wiring changes, after swapping in the JL Audio amplifier, no more noise! The compact size and lighter weight are additional bonuses with no loss in audio quality going from a class AB to class D amp. This is my 3rd JL Audio amplifier. Would buy again.

Clean and powerful

This amp is awesome! Powerful and versatile! Excellent for a 3 way component or front and rear. Super clean sound. No feedback when music is quiet, doesn't interfere with cars electronics. Doesn't clip or shut off. Doesn't even get hot! I have bridged to my 6x9 &tweeters for drum kicking 200 watts and 75 going to my mids. Use the gain controls to even out the sound. Or you can send 75 to woofer/ 75 to mids and 75 to tweet. I've got the XD400 bridged to my rear speakers. With this combo there is NO distortion even at volumes that hurt your ears!!! Amazing amps!

Unrated clean power

Haven't dabbled in car audio since winning 1st place sound quality in the nation at CMMA in 1994 sponsored by Orion and Kenwood. But these amps are tiny but wow. Jl audio never disappoints. Unrated CLEAN POWER.

Just tiny and fits under seat, really kicks and clean

This amp really kicks and is so clean. I had this installed in my 2018 Toyota Highlander Limited with the JBL. It is so tiny that it fit easily under the driver seat to one side and did not block the air vent under there. I installed a SYGAV radio that uses the Toyota harness and can use the factory amp, then installed the XD600 and left the center channel and the liftgate sub on the factory amp. replaced all the speakers with JL (except the center channel and liftgate sub, left factory because of ohms ) on the XD600 - Dash L/R channels 1/2; front doors L/R channels 3/4; rear door doors and liftgate 3 1/2" channels 5/6. I also added the JL 10" powered sub on it's own channel from the radio. I also did Dynamat Xtreme in all 4 doors and the liftgate. My system sounds insanely good. and the SYGAV unit plays movies, so last night while waiting on someone at the airport, I watched Top Gun Maverick. It doesn't get better than that.

i have the vxi800/8 and love the built in dsp for my 2018 ram power wagon. this amp is going into my wifes suv and was the best option for controlling the dash and all doors on a budget. whats more is i am able to use 4 rca in and the amp converts to 6 channel out for full range. this way i can run 1 set of 6 channel rca's and not have to deal with multiple cables

Used this with 3 pairs of JL C1-650x great sound, louder than expected, nice small amp, no heat to mention. No electrical noise, clean at all volumes. I matched mine with a twk88, had full control of sound so nice to have separate EQs n cross overs for each pair of speakers.

Very well built. Installation is made easy by easy access to set screws for wiring terminals. As with all JL Audio I have owned, this amp sounds great and interfaces well with my head unit and speakers. My favorite feature is the level control which allows for the control of all channels or just a certain group of channels. With my particular system there are varying sizes of speakers and this makes the system much more flexible.

This amp is solid, it is replacing a Rockford fosgate amp I had but never worked right. This one delivers clean output . Tons of amp dyno videos show this puts out above rated. Was kind of worried about using a class D for mids and highs, but this amp is very musical. My components sound crystal clear crisp and amazing. Would buy JL amps for sure

Used this as an upgrade for the factory amp in my 2014 BMW X1. There was a noticeable improvement in impact and clarity over the factory amp, and I was able to eliminate a lot of distortion with the built in crossovers. I have it in a Subaru Forester under the passenger seat with a Fix82&Twk88. JL C5 650 front, active connection + C2 650x in the rear doors. (8W3v3 with a Blaupunkt amp in the trunk) Very easy to connect, conceal and setup. I used a SMD DD-1 to set the gains, it worked easy. Beautiful sound and good enough power for "normal" listening levels. I liked it so much that I will soon change my small old Blaupunkt 275pnp amp for the XD300/1v2 on the sub...

An awesome amp that is powering two audiofrog tweeters and four audiofrog coaxial speakers. They all run on 75 watts RMS so they match perfectly. Another great thing is that the amp is very adjustable. I already had a JL 10-inch w6v3 woofer in my trunk and loved the high quality build and the amp is definitely built of the same way.

This amp delivers excellent performance from a compact package. I'm impressed by how easy this was to swap in and get set up. It was very quick getting the sensitivity, high pass, and low pass set across all channels. I really appreciate that all of the wiring comes out of one side and that it looks very clean when the wiring is tightened down and the cover is put on.

I am very happy with the JL Audio XD600/6v2. It replaced a Helix B Five in my Mercedes Benz E550. The amp is extremely clean, no distortion, and the sound is organic (natural). I am a drummer so I know what zildjian cymbals sound like. I also know what bass guitar, lead guitar and piano music sound like in their natural state. This amp only amplifies the music; It does not add any color to it. Between you and the speakers, there is only music and silent space (Wha!). Ok, enough said. You will not be disappointed with this amplifier. Powerful, clean sound in a small footprint. My OEM speakers (Harman Kardon) never sounded this good. It is definitely on par with the Helix B Five that it replaced.

great little amp

Great amp in a compact size. I like that the connections are all on one side. I like the clamps the way they contact and tighten down the cables. It is easy to set the input gains with a volt meter. And I like that I can bridge a combo of channels. It weighs quite a bit for a small package. More than a Helix combo amp/dsp that I had tried out. Overall, an excellent product, which I will be buying again with a second vehicle's audio installation.

Get this amp!

I ordered my M235i with the HK premium system - big mistake. Underpowered & over-processed amp/DSP. I knew an amp upgrade would solve some the big problems. I've had JL Audio amps in the past & they've always produced great sound and are super-reliable. I needed a 6-channel amp that was compact as there is little room in the M235i for upgrades & I did not want to use any trunk space. This amp fits in the stock location just fine. Better yet - it produces clean, powerful sound, massive, noticeable improvement with the stock HK speakers, and even the under-seat woofers. I expected great results but this amp exceeded my expectations. Easy to install (buy an amp install kit!) flexible and Clean Clean Clean. You can't go wrong with this amp. Thanks JL Audio for the perfect solution & such a great product! (Just an FYI - you will need to get amp wiring harness and Active Sound bypass harness through members of the Bimmerpost forums. Imagine if Crutchfield made these... hmmmm....)

Perfection in Small Package

I bought this amp to replace the factory BMW amp in my 328. Using a custom harness I bought from a guy on the BMW forums I was able to splice into the factory system pretty easily and have it mounted in about 15 minutes. The car has 2 under-seat 8" woofers, then the two door speakers and tweeters and the rear speakers. Since this amp has balanced input/outputs I was able to provide front and rear input and drive all of them. Simple. The sound quality over the stock amp is night and day difference. It's JL Audio...need I say more? I have yet to replace the door or rear speakers, but the amp provides such good, clean power that it makes them sound like a quality replacement. Not to say that I won't replace them, but that the amp is that good.
