This C7-650cw 6-1/2" woofer will bring satisfying midbass to your dream system. It'll endure heavy use and extreme temperatures thanks, in part, to its mineral-filled polypropylene cone and a durable rubber surround. Its advanced dust cap sets this speaker apart from others in its class by extending its frequency response and allowing the driver to work gracefully in a 2- or 3-way system — and always sound phenomenal. A one-of-a-kind machined motor and oversized voice coil ensure minimal distortion under any appropriate power scenario. The C7 component line of speakers from JL Audio are sold individually, Robert. These speakers must be used with a DSP processor or amplifier as they do not have any crossovers included. Well this is a repeated question I drove my 6.5s with almost 100 watts and that was not sufficient power; recently I got lucky and some local guy was running these with a 8 channel VXI amp first 4 channels bridged to the 6.5s and the 3.5 and tweeters with the remaining 4 channels. What a difference this was! I donâ??t understand why people hesitates to provide a clear answer this would save people time and effort asking around ! Is it too much power for the 6.5s I donâ??t know but all of us that buy speakers know that you might end up burning or blowing a few items in the process. All I can say the person who allowed me to listen to his system was very straight forward and has been running his set up for at least 2 years without any sign of wear n tear on his speakers! Can someone clarify the recommend the right amp and wattage for the C7s please?

Greetings Orion, and thank you for your question. Possibly you heard the video incorrectly, this is a midbass driver only, it is part of the C7 series active component speaker set. You need a tweeter to deliver the highs, these mid bass drivers can play up to 5K frequencies, and tweeters beyond 20K. These are sold individually.

It really all depends how you are trying to use the driver. It is meant to be used with the C7 series midrange driver and tweeter, but will require an active crossover. I assume you are wanting to power a pair, but can you tell us more about how you're using the driver?

JL rates these woofers for 50-175 watts RMS. The best amp match would further be dependent on the other speaker models and number of speakers you use.

Will these fit in the stock sound bar of a 2016 JKU, no Alpine system? It appears yes and that the Select Increments pods are for installing at the far rear roll bar, but looking for clarity. Thank you.

do you absolutely need an amplifier with this setup? i am planning to use these 6.5" in the rear doors do not want to run an amp if i don't have to. i am sure they will sound better with one but curious how the power output will be with Kenwood DMX1037S or DMX1057XR head unit. thanks in advance!

Yes, you will need an amplifier to power the JL Audio C7-650cw appropriately. The internal amplifier in Kenwood radios output 22 watts rms and the C7-650 needs at least 50 watts rms to 175 watts rms. Underpowering these could result in distortion or damage to the speaker.

I have a 2005 Pontiac Vibe WITH the GM MONSOON stereo from the factory. I've already upgraded the head unit from Crutchfield and love it and now I want to upgrade the speakers, but hopefully not have to replace the OEM amplifier. My question is will the GM OEM Monsoon amplifier be stable enough to drive this subwoofer wired wither at 1 ohm or 2 ohms? I really don't want to rip apart the entire car to install and aftermarket amplifier especially being a disabled veteran on a fixed income.
