Q
What gauge is the wire inside the braided insulation?

Greetings Zenith. Thats a great question. I reached out to the manufacture, but they could not provide us with the gauge wire inside the cable, just the outer diameter of the braded cable. Sorry

Q
Two questions: (1) I want to use the Scosche Strikeline10-foot USB A to USB C cable to transmit music from my computer to an external DAC, which will in turn send the signal to an amplifier via balanced XLR cables. Is this cable appropriate for the task? (2) I have read that data can be lost with a 10 foot Type C cable, but not with a type B cable. Since this is a combination of Types A and C, is there likely to be data loss over 10 feet? Thank you.

You should be fine at this length, but I would not go any longer Donald. If your DAC supports a type B USB input, then something like the Audioquest USB C to USB B cable in the first link below is a great choice for top performance. Since you are most likely wanting the 10-foot length for convenience, you can always try the Strikeline10 to see how it performs before compromising on something shorter like the Strikeline in the second link below at 4-foot length. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_703CUSBBC4/AudioQuest-Cinnamon-1-5m-5-ft.html https://www.crutchfield.com/p_142CAB4SR/Scosche-StrikeLine-USB-A-to-USB-C-Cable-4-foot-Silver.html
