About the Scosche LOC80

Scosche's LOC80 line output converter allows you to connect a receiver with no preamp outputs to an amplifier without speaker-level inputs. The LOC80 handles a speaker-level signal up to 80 watts RMS per channel, and converts it to a line-level signal you can plug into your amp's input.
The LOC80 reduces the incoming speaker-level signals so you can use a stereo RCA patch cable (not included) to make the connection to your amp. The converter features adjustable gain settings on each channel, and it's compatible with almost any car stereo. Dimensions: 2-1/2"W x 1-1/16"H x 3-15/16"D. Warranty: 90 days.

Product Research
Features
Overview: The Scosche LOC-80 is a passive device that allows most car stereos to be connected to an amplifier or EQ booster by converting the high-level speaker outputs of the car stereo into a low-level preamp signal (RCA jacks).
Installation: You can use the Scosche LOC-80 whenever you wish to add an amplifier or EQ booster to a car stereo that is not equipped with RCA (low-level) outputs. By simply connecting the speaker inputs of the LOC-80 to the speaker outputs of the car stereo, you can now add an amplifier or EQ booster to your vehicle's audio system.
- Speaker Inputs: The attached speaker level input wires are 4-3/4" long. Connect the left (+) speaker wire of your car stereo to the white wire of the LOC-80 and connect the left (-) speaker wire to the white/black wire of the LOC-80. Then connect the right (+) speaker wire to the gray wire of the LOC-80 and connect the right (-) speaker wire to the gray/black wire of the LOC-80.
- RCA Outputs: Connect the RCA output jacks of the LOC-80 to the RCA inputs of your amplifier or EQ booster (Red = Right, White = Left).
Note: Double check all connections and test the sound system. The wiring colors of the LOC-80 may be different from the wiring colors found on your car stereo.
Output Level Adjustment: The Scosche Car Stereo Speaker Level Converter is equipped with output level controls that can be adjusted for proper sound level matching. This done by inserting a small flat-blade or phillips-head screwdriver into the gain adjustment holes, located on top of the LOC-80. by turning clockwise, the gain for that individual channel, or the amount of sound allowed to pass through the LOC-80 is increased. By turning counterclockwise, the gain for that individual channels is decreased. If you feel that after increasing the volume of your stereo, the sound is too quiet, then equally increase both the left and right gains of the LOC-80until the sound level is adequate. If the sound level is too loud with only a slight increase in stereo volume, or distortion (poor sound quality) is noticeable, then equally decrease the gains of the LOC-80.

I used this to install a 260W amp along with a 10" bazooka bass tube in the trunk of my Chrysler Sebring convertible. It allowed me to add additional depth to my sound while maintaining the stealth factory radio to ward off potential thieves. Great buy!
