Perfect fit. Does what it's supposed to. These work great for Rockford Fosgate 6.5" and JL 6" (which are actually 6.5") Speakers. These won't fit JL 6.5" (actually 6.75") speakers without modification.

Features

Overview: The SA69 fits many factory 6x9 speaker locations, allowing you to mount select 5¼s and 6½s in its round opening. There is also a scored knockout for mounting a separate tweeter. (Please refer to the Crutchfield Vehicle Selector to confirm fit in your vehicle.)

6½ Speakers: The brackets have screw holes for standard 3-hole and 4-hole 6½ patterns, and new holes can easily be drilled in the plastic brackets if needed. The cutout diameter is just over five inches, meaning most speakers we describe as 6½ will fit, but several manufacturers make larger speakers they also call 6½, that definitely will not fit. (We call these speakers 6¾, and we have data in place to determine whether or not all of our speakers will fit into the brackets.)

5¼ Speakers: While a 5¼ speaker will mount easily in this bracket given the bolt pattern, the frame of many 5¼s (about one in three) is smaller than the opening in the bracket, meaning a speaker baffle might also be needed to seal the rear of the speaker.

Tweeters: The knockouts for mounting separate tweeters have several scored concentric circles, ranging from approximately ⅝" to 1¾". By design, the tweeter plug is not easily removed, it will need to be cut out.

Does this work for a 6" speaker as well?

It can work with some speakers that are marketed as being a 6" speaker. I recommend contacting a product advisor by calling 1-800-324-9695 to check if they can work with the 6" speaker you are referencing and fit it into your vehicle.

Greetings Phillip. Thank you for your question. Chances are yes. These adapters are not one vehicle specific, but can be used in many. Most all speaker adapter brackets will need slight modifications, but that's still much better than having no adapter.

Would this adapter support mounting a sub or would it be too much vibration for the plastic? My car has a factory 6x9 sub in the rear deck.

I would absolutely not use that. This sub has too much output. Instead, you could take that and use it as a template, you would need atleast 1/2" mdf. I used 3/4", and routed it out to do flush mount.

The Scosche SA69 bracket fits many factory 6x9 speaker locations, allowing you to mount select 5-1/4" and 6-1/2" speakers in its round opening. We don't carry the Boss Audio speakers you referenced, but the bracket has an opening diameter of 5.1"; so as long as your speakers can fit that opening, they should fit. I just bought Focal 170V 6-3/4" and no they don't Fit unless you use a Dremel. It would be nice if the adapter plates worked for both. Dremel is your friend here.
