Overview: The Scosche Universal USB Hard Wire Kit (UHWKQC3-SP) provides a discreet USB charging port for your electronics. The adapter features two "quick connectors" on one end and a female USB Type A port on the other. The 5' adapter cable is protected by an in-line 2A ATM mini fuse.
Installation: The Hard Wire Kit is simple to install. On the input end are two clamp-type "quick connectors" that can be applied directly to the power and ground wires of your vehicle's accessory power port, or some other 12-volt power source. This leaves your 12-volt power socket free for other uses. The wiring can be tucked inside of the dash for a super clean installation. The USB end can be placed anywhere you need it.
Quick Connectors: The Hard Wire Kit gets its power from the wires leading to your vehicle's 12-volt power port. The Quick Connectors have two "teeth" that pierce the jacket of the red (power) and black (ground) wires to make contact with the bare wire. Stripping the wire in the clamping area will provide the best results. You will likely need to use pliers in order to fully clamp the connectors onto the wires. USB-A Port: The kit provides you with a female USB Type-A charging port for your smartphone, tablet, dash camera, or other USB-powered electronics.
