About the Garmin RVcam 795

RV-friendly guidance...
RV-friendly guidance...
When you're living the over-the-road life, you know how important accurate information and smart planning are. Garmin's RVcam 795 GPS navigator for RV owners puts the info you need right in front of you and provides the planning tools that'll keep you cruising without worry. Add in BirdsEye satellite imagery that activates when you reach your destination, a comprehensive route planner, voice commands, driver assistance, points of interest for RVs, built-in Wi-Fi®, and custom camper settings, and you've got a serious tool to help you in your journeys.
...and a handy dash cam
Thanks to an integrated HD video camera, you'll have a continuous video record of everything that happens on the road before you. Garmin incorporates a G-sensor to automatically save vital footage in the event of a collision, and optional GPS tagging stamps the video with your location, speed, date and time for the most accurate presentation possible. You can easily remove the RVcam 795 from its mount so you can take high-res photos of any damage done. Garmin includes a 16 GB microSD™ card, but the RVcam 795 accepts up to a 256 GB microSD card for big-time storage.
The Garmin Drive smartphone app (more on that below) also lets you view your camera footage right on your phone, so you can see what happened without having to access the 795. It also provides access to Garmin's secure digital Vault, which stores your footage in the cloud so you can access them days or weeks down the road if needed. Many of the Drive app's features are free of charge, but Garmin's Vault service requires a monthly subscription fee.

A 6.95" screen for your adventures
The generous capacitive LCD screen allows for a great view and easy fingertip control. You'll have maps of the U.S., Canada, much of Mexico, and some Caribbean islands at your disposal, with millions of stopping points, including RV-friendly spots with showers and Wi-Fi. You can also add your own favorite destinations when you've found a place that's really off the beaten path. And with one tap of the screen, Garmin's Up Ahead feature pulls up details for services that lie ahead on your route, including restaurants, gas stations, and more. You also get up to four free map updates per year to keep you current on road changes.
Garmin includes arrival planning with BirdsEye satellite imagery, which provides a detailed view from above of your destination. This is especially handy when trying to locate a parking spot at RV parks and campgrounds. And the navigator's Track Recorder feature lets you save your favorite routes whether you're in your RV, on foot, or out on an ATV or other vehicle.
Find the best route for your camper
Road restrictions info enables the RVcam 795 to find the perfect route for your RV. You can build a custom profile with your RV's height, weight, length, width, and trailer or towed car details, and the navigator will deliver the best, safest route to your destination on most roadways in the contiguous 48 states and Canada. If you're in a hurry, Garmin includes standard RV sizes so you can change your vehicle profile with the push of a button. And you can plan trips with multiple stops and save routes for future reference with ease.
The navigator's elevation map tool gives you info on elevation along your route while viewing the map screen. You can tap the screen for more detail about potential steep grades before you hit a hill your RV might not be ready for.
Alerts for road hazards
Worried about possible dangerous road conditions? The RVcam 795 provides upcoming highway info, such as sharp curves, high winds, and weight limits. You'll also get local info like bridge heights and animal or railroad crossings. If you're in an area with one-way streets or school zones, you'll get a heads-up about paying attention to the speed limit or driving in the wrong direction. The navigator also provides mile marker locations, along with border notices five miles before you reach a new state line or the border to a different country.
Take your RV where it wants to go
The RVcam 795 includes a database of RV parks and services around the globe, giving you instant access to thousands of sites in North America and beyond. You'll be able to find RV parks and campgrounds quickly, and you can narrow your search by type of amenities desired, including pet-friendly, on-site laundry, electric hookups, Wi-Fi, and more. You can also narrow your search to include results from Ultimate Public Campgrounds and KOA. The included PlanRV directory can point you to nearby garages that can help if your RV breaks down or needs service.
Garmin's Drive app: one valuable road assistant
You can pair the RVcam 795 with your iPhone® or Android™ smartphone to take advantage of the free Garmin Drive app, which allows the two devices to share information, such as saved and recently found locations, where you parked, and your current destination. The Drive app also provides smart notifications to your navigator for incoming calls and texts so you won't miss anything important. You can also subscribe to dynamic services from Garmin for more road-friendly content like advanced weather reports, live parking, and traffic camera locations for an additional fee.
Garmin's Live Traffic service is also available for free through the Garmin Drive app. When your phone is paired with the navigator, you'll see real-time traffic info detailed on the navigator's screen.
Foursquare®, Tripadvisor®, and trendy points of interest
This Garmin comes with crowd-sourced points of interest from Tripadvisor and Foursquare, giving you user-verified info for millions of stops along America's roadways. You'll find the most relevant and popular hotels, restaurants, and roadside attractions within seconds, many with Tripadvisor ratings. Garmin also scours the web and other sources for trendy RV stops and roadtrip routes then loads them into your points of interest database whenever you do an update, so you'll always be up-to-date on the hottest out-of-the-way destinations.
See your rewards points at your favorite travel plazas
If you spend a lot of time on the interstate, you're probably familiar with travel plazas and all the services they offer. Garmin's Drive app lets you view your available loyalty rewards points at select travel plazas across the USA, including Pilot Travel Centers — right on the navigator's screen. You can determine before you even pull in if you've got enough points to treat yourself to free or discounted goods and services.
Say where you want to go
You can activate the RVcam 795's guidance by using your voice — simply speak one of its recognizable commands and it'll get started. Hit the road without using your hands for safer exploring.
Directions that sound natural
The powerful built-in speaker overcomes engine noise so you can hear about upcoming maneuvers. The navigator offers Garmin Real Directions with Garmin Real Voice, a combination that helps keep you relaxed as you drive. Real Directions voice prompts speak the instructions to you like a friend would, using easy-to-see landmarks, buildings and businesses, and traffic lights, rather than streets with tiny signs that you might not see in time. With Real Voice technology, you'll hear directions spoken in a personable, human-sounding voice that you'll comprehend readily.
Keep your bearings
Active Lane Guidance shows you colored arrows for the correct lane for an upcoming turn, while 3-D representations of buildings and terrain help give you a better perspective of where you are. You'll see these visual features in a split-screen with your overall route so you won't lose sight of what's further down the road.
Add a camera or other devices
This Garmin's also compatible with the optional Garmin BC 50 wireless rear-view camera, so you can add an extra layer of safety when you're backing up. You can even connect to a wired rear-view camera if it has a 3.5mm composite video output. And if you're thinking about adding a dash camera, the RVcam 795 offers a USB port that'll power select Garmin devices, keeping your RV's 12-volt power port free for other portables. It also works with the Garmin PowerSwitch accessory controller, so you can command your RV's add-on lights, fans, and other electronics through the navigator.
Convenient Bluetooth® compatibility
The Garmin's built-in Bluetooth connectivity allows you to conduct phone calls hands-free with your compatible phone. You can keep in touch with friends and family without diverting your attention from the road ahead. Most points of interest in Garmin's database include the phone numbers, so you can call ahead to make reservations at restaurants or check availability at nearby campgrounds.
Built-in Wi-Fi lets you update without wires
Nobody wants to hook their navigator up to their computer when it's time to get a map update or other software change. With built-in Wi-Fi connectivity you can perform updates from your vehicle when you're connected to a Wi-Fi signal or a public hotspot that doesn't require a web browser sign-in.

The LDWS alerts you when the device detects you may be crossing a lane boundary unintentionally.
Navigation Features
Garmin Real Directions: The RVcam 795 features Garmin Real Directions with easy-to-understand driving directions using recognizable landmarks, buildings, and traffic lights, in addition to spoken street names.
Voice Command: You can use your voice to activate and operate the RVcam 795. Voice Command allows you to use the device by speaking words and commands and following the voice prompts. After speaking a predetermined Wakeup Phrase ("OK, Garmin"), you can enter the names and/or address of popular, well-known locations. If necessary, you can disable voice prompts without muting the device, so you'll still hear the audible directions as you travel.
Garmin Drive: Garmin Drive is a smartphone application that allows the device to download live data using your phone's data connection, and transferring the data wirelessly via Bluetooth. The free Garmin Drive app provides access to real-time services, such as live traffic, basic weather, live fuel prices, and live parking. Notifications from your smartphone, such as text messages, calendar reminders, or app alerts, are sent to the RVcam 795 for viewing. Using the app, you'll be able to view your travel plaza loyalty points from participating providers, including Pilot Travel Centers, all across the U.S. Garmin Drive is compatible with devices running iOS 14.0 or later, or Android 6.0 or higher.
Traffic: Using the Garmin Drive app on your smartphone, you can receive subscription-free traffic data for interstates and major highways in over 50 metropolitan areas in the continental U.S. from HERE WeGo. The app has a refresh rate of 1 minute. Garmin Drive also provides advanced weather radar and severe weather alerts.
Points of Interest: The built-in maps include millions of Points of Interest (POIs) from the vast Foresquare database, such as hotels, restaurants, gas stations, attractions, and ATMs. The RVcam 795 is also preloaded with a directory of RV parks and services (including US National Parks), as well as content from Ultimate Public Campgrounds, PlanRV, and KOA campgrounds. With the help of TripAdvisor, the world's largest travel site, you can view ratings for many of your destinations. A travel database from The History Channel provides additional pictures and descriptions of notable historic sites, monuments, museums, and parks.
Active Lane Guidance: Active Lane Guidance with voice prompts lets you know in advance which lane you should to be in to make an upcoming turn. In select metropolitan areas, the RVcam 795 will enter split screen mode to display the Junction View, a realistic depiction of the junction, complete with road signs and brightly-colored arrows to indicate the proper lane for navigation.
Map View Options: You can choose from a 3D map view or two 2D map views (Track Up or North Up) as you navigate to your destination.
Speed Limits: As you travel along a major road or street, the speed limit is displayed on the screen alongside of the vehicle's speed display. If you are exceeding the speed limit, a tone will sound, and the color of the vehicle speed indication will change to red. If the highway's posted speed limit has changed since the last map update, you can change the speed limit display on the unit.
Where Am I?: The "Where Am I?" feature gives you instant access to important information in case of an emergency. When you touch the vehicle icon on the map screen, the "Where Am I?" feature provides the coordinates (including elevation) of your current position, plus the nearest address and intersections. There are also buttons to help you locate the nearest hospitals, police stations, gas stations, and roadside assistance. You can also save the location for future reference.
Up Ahead: As you travel along your route, the Up Ahead feature constantly indicates the location of nearby businesses, including gas, food, lodging, restrooms, parking, and banks and ATMs. The locations are shown as icons, some with brand logos, and when the icons are touched on the screen, details of the services are displayed, and you are given the opportunity to navigate to that address.
Destination Search: When the Where To? button is pressed, you can use the search tools to find your destination and plan your route. The search tools allow you to search for cities, addresses, intersections, or coordinates. The Search Bar lets you directly enter a category, brand name, address, or city name. The unit's memory stores the last 50 locations you have found so you can quickly find a previous destination.
Trip Planner: You can plan your next RV trip using the Trip Planner app on the device. After selecting your starting location, you can add destinations until you trip planning is complete. The unit can automatically optimize the order of the destinations in your trip to create a shorter, more efficient route. Each trip you plan can be saved in memory until you are ready to make the trip again.
Trip Data: A shortcut on the map screen leads you to the Trip Data page. At a glance, you can see your direction of travel, elevation, two trip odometers (A & B), your average speed, as well as your moving average speed, the total time spent stopped, and the time of sunset or sunrise. Digging deeper into the page, you can view your maximum speed, total moving time, total trip time, the coordinates of your current location, and the GPS accuracy (in feet).
Where I've Been/Trip Log: The Where I've Been application allows you to view your previous routes and places you have stopped on the map. In addition, the device keeps a Trip Log, which is a record of the path you have traveled. The Travel History setting must be enabled in order for the Where I've Been and Trip Log features to function.
TracBack®: The TracBack® feature records the most recent segment of your trip, and allows you to retrace your recent track, back to a previous location. You can also save your recent track as a trip, which you can navigate later using the trip planner.
GPS Simulator: When indoors, you can activate the built-in GPS simulator and practice using the unit. This turns off the GPS receiver so it's not searching for satellites, saving battery power.
Service History: The Service History app lets you keep track of the date and odometer reading when service or maintenance is performed on your vehicle. The app lets you keep track of the following service categories: Air Filter Change, Brake Fluid Change, Brake Pads Change, Check Tire Pressure, Clutch Fluid Change, Engine Oil Change, Front Tire Change, Fuel Filter Change, Rear Tire Change, and Spark Plugs Change. You can add, rename, or delete service categories to customize your service list.
