About the PowerBass OE-400

Alexander H.

Replacement speakers for your 2-ohm factory system

Some vehicles, like those with a Bose® premium sound system, use low-impedance speakers to get a little more punch out of the factory radio. If you try to replace these speakers with standard 4-ohm aftermarket speakers, you'll notice a significant loss of volume — never a good thing. These 2-ohm replacement speakers, specially designed by PowerBass, will make the most of your factory power. Install these OE-400 4" midrange speakers, and you'll hear a big improvement in sound quality over your old factory speakers.

Step up to aftermarket quality

Say goodbye to flimsy factory woofers. The OE-400's sturdy yet sensitive treated pressed paper cone delivers satisfying performance while enduring the extreme temperatures of life in your car doors.

Note: These speakers won't work with aftermarket car stereos, unless you add a 2-ohm stable outboard amplifier to your system. PowerBass designed these speakers for use with a 2-ohm factory system.

Grilles are not included; the factory grilles should be suitable for most applications.

Customer Q&A

Q
What is the distance between each hole of the mounting bracket? Thanks.

A
I would be happy to help, Jay. We take accurate measurements accounting for the size of the mounting hole. You have a measurement here of 3.985" (inside of mounting hole edge to edge) and 4.34" (outside). I hope these accurate measurements help you fit the PowerBass OE-400! We also have our handy Vehicle Guide in the link below that can also help you choose a speaker that fits. We have done the hard work already, so you don't have to worry!

I have them installed in the front footwell in a 1993 C4 with Bose amplifier. if the speakers are in the front of the sill cover you will need to remove it to get at the speaker compartment.
