Maybe... Maybe Not
Scott Thomas from New Berlin, WI on 3/18/2025
2008 Toyota Matrix
08 Matrix "Plug and Play" not so much. The Toyota wire harness to the speakers is plug and play. The front speakers are a drop in. The rear speakers you will need to modify the opening (cut the door panel) this will require time and the tools. To properly mount the speakers (note the size of the hole from which the rivet was in) so you'll need to get hardware that will secure the speakers in place large sheet metal screws worked for me. The optional suggested mounting hardware for this application doesn't even come close so forget it. If your OEM speakers are NG these will suffice. I have sound deadening in my door panels to help lessen the Tin Can affect from road noise, closing doors and enrich the speaker sound. These speakers seem to be made of good quality materials but really don't equate to expectations. In the years past I had Jensen 6x9 coaxial that were superior to these but then apples to oranges... don't always buy what's on sale.
Pros: impressive packaging and stickers to display your purchase.
Cons: no one wants impressive packaging or stickers. PowerBass should live up to its name by the sound of the product and not the stickers and packaging.

Perfect Replacement for 08 Highlander
Randy from Tallahassee, FL on 12/15/2024
2008 Toyota Highlander
Installed these in the rear slots of my 08 Highlander about a week ago. The old ones had completely died. Simple install. Took the old ones out and the new ones lined up perfectly with the old ones. Didn't even need any of the jumpers or additional screws supplied by Crutchfield. Sound great too. Perfect upgrade/replacement.
Pros: No additional drilling or hardware needed. Sound better than OEM. Shipped very quickly too.
Cons: None

Easy installation and great replacement!
Tae from Honolulu, HI on 11/22/2024
2011 Lexus GS350
Perfect fit for my 2011 Lexus GS350. I guess because the car was older, my OEM speaker's rubber parts started to fall apart. This PowerBass speakers were a complete easy replacement. Sounds as good or better (not too sure, I'm not a audio freak). I didn't have to modify anything. It was literally a plug and play deal.
Pros: Easy to install. Perfect replacement for 2011 Lexus GS350. Amazing price, for roughly $100, it's an easy upgrade.
Cons: Honestly can't think of any cons as of now. I installed and tested them today. So far, so good.

Great sound, minor issue with fit in the rear
Christopher from SEMMES, AL on 9/29/2024
I bought these for a 2006 Scion TC for the front and rear speakers. Front fit perfect. And the factory connector plugged right in. The rear speakers did not fit. The rear speakers were 5 1/4 and I made sure to asking these would fit. I did manage to install them, but had to heavily modify them to fit. But they sound great. And are definitely better than the blown speakers that were in the car.
Pros: Easy swap for the door speakers. Perfect fit.
Cons: Rear speakers were not an exact fit. Had to modify

about as easy as a door speaker install can be, even sound a little better as well. .... which is not hard considering how cheaply made the factory speakers are in a 2010 Yaris.....
Pros: much better than oem speakers, sound good
Cons: just how had to use rivets to install, but that is a Toyota thing, not the speakers

Out of two speakers one sounds great and the other rattles something awful. Install seems solid and the same as the one that is functioning. These are oem fits so there is no rigging to make them fit. Rattle keeps getting worse. This one sounds the same as the one I took out with a busted cone.

Doesn't fit 01-04 Rav4
James from GRAND JUNCTION, CO on 8/29/2023
2004 Toyota RAV4
The box states "Drop In" replacement for the OEM speakers... they very much are NOT. When I contacted Crutchfield they said some times you have to drill the doors to get these to fit. Um...then why are they listed as "Vehicle Specific"? They fit the main opening but I had to drill one hole in the door and one in the speaker mounting tab for each speaker. They do plug directly into the OEM harness which is great. Three stars because they sound OK, not great and I had to drill to make them fit. I would have returned but I already had the interior out for sound deadening install and didn't want to wait for something else that may not fit.
Pros: Plugs into factory harness.
Cons: Not "Drop In" replacements.

These speakers were a breeze to install into the front doors of a 2018 Toyota Corolla. No need for the included wiring harnesses or the screws that Crutchfield sent with the order. Only tools I needed were a drill with some good bits and a rivet tool, I used my own rivets. Drastic improvement in the sound, the music is much heartier.

Top notch for low-mid end systems.
Crutchfield customer from WV on 9/22/2021
2016 Toyota 4Runner
These are the American made version of Focal's. The component version OE65C-TY of these have sound quality that is top notch for low-mid end systems. These coaxial are like every other speaker in that class. You sacrifice mid bass for location limitations. The only issue is loose plastic connector's & cold solder joints. If you know how to solder & have gorilla glue clear, these are minor fixes. You save money & are buying American made. The tweeters sound good & are able to filter out the hiss on the Toyota system. They don't reach the high frequency level or dB of separates.
Pros: American made version of Focal's. Tweeters sound good & are able to filter out the hiss on the Toyota system.
Cons: These coaxial are like every other speaker in that class. You sacrifice mid bass for location limitations. loose plastic connector's & cold solder joints. They don't reach the high frequency level or dB of separates.

Fits 5th gen 4Runner!
Robert from Green Brook, NJ on 11/1/2020
2018 Toyota 4Runner
Great sound compared to the lousy factory speakers. Contrary to the PowerBass and Crutchfield websites, these units fit perfectly in the read doors and tailgate of the 5th gen 4Runner. They are a great match to PowerBass OE69C-TY for the front door and dash. Build quality is quite good and the eash of installation is amazing, true plug and play. They even have the foam seals back and front just like the factory speakers. I recommend these especially if you are sticking with the factory head unit.
Pros: Perfect fit. Big improvement over the originals. Easy install.
Cons: Low sensitivity.

Matthew from Jacksonville, FL on 5/28/2019
2013 Toyota Tundra
Perfect fit for the back doors of my 2013 Tundra CrewMax. I paired them with the matching OE69C-TY 6x9 components for the front. They are all powered by a Sony WX-GS920BH head unit which is 45w RMS and 100w max. They are very clean/clear sounding, with noticably better highs than factory and get plenty loud. The build also appears to be far superior to the factory speakers. I doubt the weak stock head unit would have been able to do these speakers justice.
Pros: Clean, clear sound, simple bolt in oem fitment with no cheap adapters to vibrate, build quality, far superior to stock.
Cons: None at the moment.

A great factory replacement option
Crutchfield customer from Chesterfield, VA on 3/24/2019
2018 Toyota Prius C
If you own a Toyota I recommend you check out this speaker. Some of the benefits are that it works with your factory speaker connection, creates a nice seal between the speaker and door panel and includes a water shield for any rain getting into the door frame. Extra rivets are included so all you need is a drill and rivet tool to install. A two-handed rivet tool really makes popping these in a breeze. The speakers sound great, no rattles or buzzes thanks to the factory fitment! I recommend adding some type of material over the plastic vapor barrier to beef up the speaker enclosure. I used Dynaliner. Replace the head unit or add an amplifier for even more performance.
Pros: Plug and play, build quality, sound
Cons:

Even though it states that they do not fit a 5th gen 4runner they do. I installed the 6x9's in the front and the 6.5" in the rear doors and tailgate. This fit like a glove, it took ma about 20 minutes to install them and the sound is great. once I pulled out the stock speakers I was so dissapointed with Toyota with such crappy speakers they put in. Just get these you will notice a huge difference in sound.
